One of the most senior and best-known Muslim Brotherhood leaders still at large following the military crackdown in Egypt has been arrested Essam el-Erian, a member of the organisation’s Guidance Council or politburo and deputy leader of its political front, the Freedom and Justice Party, was seized at an apartment in north-east Cairo, the interior ministry said. Mr Erian had been on the run since a warrant was issued for his arrest following the army’s overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood president, Mohammed Morsi. He played a central role in the subsequent Brotherhood-led protests, based at the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque which...

Muslims don’t like vaccines. It’s safe to mock a Jenny McCarthy over vaccines, but no one mentions the vehement opposition of Islamists to vaccinations. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have issued fatwas against vaccines and murdered workers. Nigeria and Pakistan have also been scenes of violent Muslim opposition to vaccination. Muslims aren’t even 1 percent of the population of Scotland. But they’ve been doing their Talibanest best there, with the aid and support of the so-called Scottish National Party that often seems more like the Pakistani Immigrants Party and now Scotland’s largest vaccination program has been shut down because of them.

In a Presidential Address delivered today, President Obama calmed Wall Street and the rest of the nation by reversing course. Here is the text of the Presidential Address: My fellow Americans, some of you believe that my "no negotiations" stance toward Republicans was ill considered and that by intentionally causing unnecessary pain for you, my Fellow Americans, I was just being nasty. Now, I can tell you why I had to do it.As some have noticed, I have been a wuss in dealing with our foreign enemies. That was, I thought, the best I was able to do. Recognizing the...

The woman in a full-length burka walked calmly into the drab government office. She moved close to the desk behind which an administrator was shuffling his papers. Others queued around her. Suddenly, without warning, she detonated the suicide vest she was wearing. The explosion flashed a brilliant white on the grainy CCTV before the cameras cut out, obliterating everything – and everyone – in the room.

It has been said a million times (and now a million and one) that those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And now, just like sixty years ago, the United States has allowed Russia to claim a great victory and become the real power player in the Middle East. Today, the blame for that can be confidently laid at the feet of American politicians and their myopic understanding of the region’s new dynamics. Those politicians are led by the Obama Administration, plus two Republicans, Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham. Their obsession with achieving “democracy” in...

France's interior minister revealed Thursday that hundreds of homegrown Islamist militants were signing up to fight in Syria and warned they could pose a security threat when they come back. More than 300 French nationals or residents are either currently fighting in Syria's civil war, planning to go and fight or have recently returned from there, the minister, Manuel Valls, told France Inter radio. Most of them were young men, often with a delinquent past, who had become radicalised, he said.

Bahrain security forces routinely detain children without cause and subject them to ill-treatment that may rise to the level of torture, Human Rights Watch said today, based on reports from victims, family members, and legal rights activists. On September 12, 2013, the European Parliament issued a further resolution on the deteriorating rights situation in Bahrain, urging it among other things "to respect the rights of juveniles, to refrain from detaining them in adult facilities and to treat juveniles in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of a Child, to which Bahrain is a party." ... Information recently obtained from...

A jihadist group affiliated with Al Qaeda has threatened to carry out terrorist attacks in Catalonia, an autonomous region in northeastern Spain that is home to the largest concentration of radical Islamists in Europe. The threats were issued by a group called "Africamuslima" in response to efforts by Catalonian lawmakers to increase surveillance of radical Salafists seeking to impose Islamic Sharia law in Spain and other parts of Europe. Catalonia -- a region of 7.5 million people centered on the Mediterranean city of Barcelona -- is home to the largest Muslim population in Spain. Most of the estimated 450,000 Muslims...

In the Syrian rubble of Barack Obama’s foreign policy lies a moment of opportunity for conservatives. It is a moment for building a muscular foreign policy based on a recognition of good and evil; on an unapologetic conviction that the United States stands firmly on the right side of that ledger because it stands for the liberty and equal dignity of every human being; and, therefore, on an unwavering commitment to have our interventions guided solely by American national interests. It is a Ronald Reagan moment. Now, all we need is a Ronald Reagan. For now, we have only pretenders,...

ANN ARBOR, MI – During a Pentagon press conference on May 10, 2012, General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, publicly excoriated Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Matthew Dooley, a 1994 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a highly decorated combat veteran. His reason: The course on Islamic Radicalism which LTC Dooley was teaching at the Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) of the National Defense University was offensive to Muslims. General Dempsey characterized LTC Dooley’s course as "totally objectionable," and ordered all material offensive to Islam scrubbed from military professional education within the JFSC and...

Myself and my group of gentlemen friends 'ConservOList' (soon to admit women – no application fee necessary), hash out the issues and crisis of our day via email back and forth. We've instant messaging challenged or just stuck in a rut – your choice. The topic that is front and center, of course is U.S. Intervention in Syria. The following is my viewpoint: The appropriate response, in my opinion, is no response. Notice that 'Great Britain' in the person of David Cameron (like that last name) is imploring the U.S. to lead. They themselves, won't take any unilateral measures....

Sometimes I stumble upon a story that I can’t pass up. This is one of those times. It would be morally wrong to have a couple of slices of bacon with your eggs but by all means you can not disturb or try to eradicate the blessed lice living in Muslim beards, for they are special lice that were sent forth by Allah. I am not making this up.

Members of Quebec’s Muslim community are speaking out against radical Islamic preachers expected at a conference in Montreal. Quebec’s women’s issues minister wants to ban the Islamists, some of whom live in France, from attending the event. The four “star preachers” expected at the conference are known for their radical sermons calling for a strict application of original Islamic law. One of them, a French citizen named Nader Abou Anas, has spoken at the mosque of Bourget, a Parisian suburb, voicing a rigid vision of male-female relations. In several videos published on the internet, he says that all accessories (jewels,...

There is no sanctuary for Christians in Egypt – certainly not their Church building. The U.K. Mail Online, reports this evening of a sickening display of the fruit of the teachings of the prophet, his followers and the beastly mobs they have spawned. The latest display of inhumanity and indecency, is that of a rabble of human garbage ransacking a 115 year old Church school in suburban Cairo and assaulting the Sisters and parading them through the streets while they endure the curses of hate filled supporters of the former Muslim Brotherhood dictator, Morsi. The Mail’s correspondants described the depravity:...
