I'm just not understanding: is it possible that the President is going to be impeached?

Amidst division among his fellow Democrats over his campaign to see President Donald Trump impeached, billionaire left-wing environmentalist Tom Steyer held a rally attended by approximately 400 anti-Trump activists in Oakland Wednesday night to help garner support for his impeachment efforts. According to the East Bay Times, Steyer said Trump “is a malignant narcissist who’s deteriorating” while speaking alongside Amy Siskind, an anti-Trump Wall Street executive-turned-blogger, at the Impact Hub, a community center in uptown Oakland. “Today is the best day of the rest of the Trump administration,” Steyer said. Siskind, who is a liberal self-described “Jewish, gay woman,” used...

The Justice Department has provided House lawmakers with access to a two-page document that the FBI used to initiate its original counterintelligence probe into the Trump campaign's ties to Russia. All members of the House Intelligence Committee received access to the document, a Justice Department confirmed to The Hill on Wednesday. Committee chair Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) had requested access to the unredacted document, complaining that previous "heavily" redacted versions were not adequate to the committee's own investigation. Nunes said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein allowed him and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) to view the key document related to...

Saturday, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that if Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein does not turn over the unredacted documents requested by Congress related to FISA, FBI and more then impeachment could be in order. “Rod Rosenstein can call Michael Horowitz, who has the documents, and say just give them to Congress. If he doesn’t do that … there is a growing consensus of holding them in contempt of Congress, but it’s not enough to stop there. We have to have someone willing to do the job. If the deputy attorney general is not willing to do it and not...

Anti-Donald Trump protesters were left bloodied and bruised after clashing with the Republican candidate 's supporters and riot police in Brazil. The campaign descended into violence when a group calling themselves "anti-fascists" brawled with around 50 pro-Trump supporters after the two sides starting screaming at each other. Riot police were called to the demonstration at Paulista avenue in Sao Paulo as a fight broke out. A number of pro-Trump supporters donned masks and carried posters showing Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton behind bars.

Amid recent chatter that Trump could fire special counsel Robert Mueller, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) both suggested Tuesday that if the president took that step, impeachment would be the appropriate response. Graham and Flake’s commitments to this position were hardly rock-solid and may well not be shared by very many other Republicans in the Senate (or the House of Representatives, which is where the impeachment process would have to begin). Still, the statements are a significant warning to Trump from two members of his own party about how Mueller’s dismissal could end for him. First, when...

Something changed last weekend, did it not? The firing of Andrew McCabe. The statement by Trump lawyer John Dowd to The Daily Beast’s Betsy Woodruff that Robert Mueller should end his probe soon. Donald Trump’s tweetstorm just after that, his first tweets mentioning Mueller by name along with promises by aides that more attacks are on the way. The amped-up speculation that Trump will fire Jeff Sessions and replace him with someone who hasn’t recused himself so that someone can fire Mueller. Somewhere in there also came an official reassurance by Trump lawyer Ty Cobb that the president has no...

Memo to President Trump: Shut up and govern. Memo to congressional leaders, Cabinet members, and senior White House staff: If President Trump orders the firing of special counsel Robert Mueller, mass “honor” resignations by Cabinet officials and staff should follow, and an impeachment inquiry should immediately commence. Important clarification: An impeachment inquiry is just that — an open investigation, not a show trial with a predetermined outcome.

I have long believed that Donald Trump is such a thorn in the side of the Establishment and certainly the so-called Deep State, that those dark and shadowy puppet masters will stop at nothing to end his reign If there’s one thing I’m pretty sure of, it’s that the Donald Trump Presidency will not end well. It’s not because there is anything particularly wrong with the president, but the so-called ‘resistance’ is so committed that they are likely to go to any lengths to ensure that their goals are achieved. Trump has now been officially President of the United States...

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warned supporters in a fundraising email Monday about Democrats’ turnout for the March primary, which he says should “shock every conservative to their core.” So far, more Democrats have voted early than Republicans, Dallas News reports. Through Sunday in the 15 Texas counties with the most registered voters, 135,070 people had voted in the Republican primary and 151,236 in the Democratic. Compared to the first six days of early voting in 2014, Democratic turnout increased 69 percent, while Republicans saw a 20 percent increase. The Democrats even surpassed their early voting totals from the 2016 primary...

California’s Democrats had their annual convention this week, working to figure out precisely what their agenda will be going forward. There are currently some serious schisms between the hard left and the more traditional elements of the party so they clearly have a lot of work to do. But all the policy talk went out the window when their featured speaker, Congresswoman Maxine Waters took that stage. The event quickly turned into an anti-Trump rally complete with chants and calls to figuratively drag President Trump out of the White House by force. (The Hill) Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who has...

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who has been a leading opponent of President Trump on Capitol Hill, told thousands of Democratic activists and officials “to get ready for impeachment.” Speaking at the California Democratic Party’s annual convention in San Diego, Waters said that she believes special counsel Robert Mueller, who’s been helming the investigation into Russian interference into the 2016 election, is “getter closer” to figuring out who colluded with Russia. "I say it is time to get ready for impeachment," Waters said to roaring applause. “I cannot wait and I’m counting on special counsel Mueller to...

RUSH: I checked the email during the break. An interesting question: “Rush, you haven’t talked about the second indictments that have been handed down against Paul Manafort,” and I’m paraphrasing the email. The question basically is these things still have nothing to do with even the campaign. Everything Manafort’s being indicted for happened before the campaign, and then a letter writer very astutely mentioned that Mueller is changing the venue from Washington, D.C., to the Eastern District of Virginia, which is where Manafort lives. While that is an interesting aspect of this, the email says, “What is going on?” Folks,...

the cover story in the current issue of New York magazine is by former NY Times editor Jill Abramson and presents their case for impeaching Thomas. A search didn't find anything on this here. Appears he is the next target.

Former CIA Director John Brennan had harsh words for House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes on Sunday morning, calling the controversial four-page “FISA memo” created by Nunes’ staffers “exceptionally partisan” and that Nunes has “abused the office” by refusing to allow Democrats on his committee to make their own rebuttal document public. “That Devin Nunes and Republicans denied the ability of the minority, the Democratic members of that committee, to put out its report is just appalling. I think it, it really underscores just how partisan Mr. Nunes has been. He has abused the office of the chairmanship of HPSCI. And...

The $64,000 question in American politics today is this: will President Trump be impeached and removed from office? The short answer to this question is: very likely not. Nonetheless, there are a variety of ways in which the impeachment drama could play out. It could end with a whimper or a bang. To a large degree, this is in special counsel Robert Mueller's hands. Most importantly, there is the question of whether or not Mueller will recommend charges against the president and/or impeachment proceedings. On one hand, there is ample evidence that Mueller is friendly with the fired FBI Director...

The latest batch of text messages between the pair of embattled FBI agents at the center of the Special Counsel’s probe into President Donald Trump‘s campaign and alleged Russian collusion reveals that one of the agents may have seen his participation in the investigation as a path to “impeaching” President Trump, said several congressional sources. The recent text messages between FBI special agent Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page were turned over last week by the Department of Justice to six congressional committees. Those text messages, as previously reported, shed new light on the political leanings, unvarnished bias and possibly...
