Scott just went full RINO. Scott Walker just dropped off my list of acceptable candidates. I like a lot about Governor Walker but people are policy. And his decision to hire Brad Dayspring, an unprincipled political operative who combines viciousness and incompetence in equal measures tells us a lot. Congrats to @BDayspring on joining Team Walker! Huge get– one of the best communications strategists in the game. $$ — Alyssa Farah (@Alyssafarah) June 30, 2015 As we have documented here on RedState, Brad Dayspring was on of the loudest lying voices in the dishonest, dishonorable, and disreputable campaign the NRSC...

Following Senator Ted Cruz’s “Center Seat” session on Wednesday’s Special Report, FNC’s Bret Baier ended his program with some YouTube clips showing Cruz “has a hidden talent on the campaign trail, apparently.” Cruz watched along with the audience and, afterward, offered an assessment of his talent.

They got one thing right -- that's definitely not Arabic. CNN devoted a segment to a purported ISIS flag that was spotted by correspondent Lucy Pawle in London during the city's gay pride celebrations Saturday. “If you look at the flag closely, it’s clearly not Arabic,” Pawle said. “In fact, it looks like it could be gobbledegook. But it’s very distinctively the ISIS flag.” That "gobbledegook" appears to be a an assortment of butt plugs, dildos and other sex toys arranged to look like the ISIS flag. Pawle went on to cast suspicion on a man dressed in black at...

Insiders worry the mogul will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities. All jokes aside, the Republican Party is officially afraid of Donald Trump. He has virtually zero chance of winning the presidential nomination. But insiders worry that the loud-mouthed mogul is more than just a minor comedic nuisance on cable news; they fret that he’s a loose cannon whose rants about Mexicans and scorched-earth attacks on his rivals will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities and desperate to win. “Donald Trump is...

FULL TITLE: Rick Perry's Response To SCOTUS' Obamacare Ruling Was Probably The Smartest Of All The GOP Candidates' And now for some news that will come as no surprise: Republican presidential candidates were all sorts of disappointed Thursday when the Supreme Court voted to uphold Obamacare, allowing health care subsidies to remain in every state. The ruling was a huge victory for the Obama administration and the Democratic party as a whole, so naturally many within the GOP took the opportunity to make some major digs at SCOTUS. But not everyone was slamming the Supreme Court. Rick Perry had the...

Too many pundits and pols on the right, marinated in a toxic mix of self-pity and obtuseness, are bemused or even enchanted by Donald Trump. Considering what Trump stands for and how he presents himself to voters, this is both alarming and confounding. In the past he’s advocated a single-payer health care system (which even ObamaCare didn’t give us), called for massive tax increases, favored abortion rights, and revealed himself to be hyper-protectionist. Today he attacks those who want to reform Social Security and Medicare, the main threats to our fiscal future. He was a registered Democrat from 2001 to...

Nearly a week after announcing he was running for president, Donald Trump has made it official and filed his paperwork with the Federal Election Commission. The one-page statement of candidacy was hand-delivered to the FEC on Monday. Trump had 15 days to send the document to the agency. Based on the document, the business tycoon’s campaign committee will be called Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.

I think it’s swell that the Obama females are on another international cultural tour – mother, two daughters and grandmother. It’s just heartwarming they’re all getting a first-class ’round the world experience – this time London, Milan, Vicenza and Venice. Media say the first lady is representing our country as she continues her march across continents, giving speeches and glad-handing with royalty and politicians. We’ve got the pictures in media – print, TV and the Internet. Yes, pictures! As I said, “Can we talk?” I have a beef with all this – and I realize I’m in somewhat dangerous territory...

Long-term global warming will have a deflating effect on bread, and a “2050 loaf” will be crumpled and small due a reduction in the amount of protein in grains, Australian scientists have found.

Disgraced NBC newsman Brian Williams — who will now move to MSNBC after admitting he lied about some of his reporting — has at least one cheerleader among the huge field of Republican presidential contenders. Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry tells Newsmax TV it's time to forgive and forget as Williams attempts to revitalize his career following a six-month suspension.

Credit Mark Levin with bursting the Trump bubble. Just last week he was the first voice on the right to thoroughly dissect Trump’s history of political activity (donations to Hillary, Weiner, Rahm, Schumer and others). He was also the first to ask a number of important questions about Trump’s world view, including, “What does he think about Kelo?” The Club for Growth is out today with the answer … directly from Trump himself from 2005 on Fox News. “I happen to agree with it 100 percent, not that I would want to use it. [note below, he would actually want...

Conservatives love a faction. Among my friends here at National Review, we have conservatarians (Charles C. W. Cooke), reform conservatives (Ramesh Ponnuru), the secular Right (Andrew Stuttaford), etc. The distinctive features of those camps are, respectively, being comfortable with gay marriage, favoring tax credits for children, and favoring tax credits for the children of gay marriages so long as the money doesn’t end up in the offering plate. ((snip)) Whatever Trump’s appeal is to the Right’s populist elements, it isn’t policy. He is a tax-happy crony capitalist who is hostile to free trade but very enthusiastic about using state violence...

Finally explaining their unexplainable actions in Congress since the midterm elections last November, House and Senate leaders announced today that they were “transpolitical,” meaning they consider themselves to be a member of both political parties. The move was made after Speaker of the House, John Boehner, said he viewed being called a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only) to be a political micro-aggression, and it always made him cry. Congressman Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell also said that conservative lawmakers and critics have been hurting their feelings for quite some time by questioning their decisions and they were...

Many political experts will not take Donald Trump's quest for the Republican presidential nomination seriously, possibly for good reason. Trump, most notable for his vast real estate empire, wealth, bankruptcies, reality TV show, high profile divorces, and of late, his brash political statements, professes to be a Christian. As The Christian Post reported Tuesday, he even claims he would be "the greatest jobs president God ever created." While Trump might not be popular with a large segment of the Republican Party, many voters no longer feel connected to Washington or what they see as a professional and entrenched political class....
