Five pastors in the City of Houston have been hit with a subpoena demanding copies of sermons and other pastoral communications. These pastors apparently oppose a City Ordinance which allows men to go into the ladies restroom and vice versa. A petition drive was launched against the “non-discrimination” ordinance, which over 50,000 residents signed. The City claimed there were “irregularities” in the collection of signatures and refused to put the issue on the ballot. It was a meeting arranged by Judge Michael Massengale and the Activist Catholic Charities helping to arrange relief for Unaccompanied Minors crossing the borders in droves and explain their vulnerabilities as they encounter our legal system. U.S. energy exports, much of which come from the Houston region, represent a large chunk of the nation's overall export growth in the coming years, according to a new national HSBC Bank USA report. The banking report notes that Houston will see an additional job creation surge going forward partially because of energy exports that target emerging foreign markets. A conservative group has filed a criminal complaint against state Sen. John Whitmire, accusing him of coercion in an exchange of text messages with University of Houston President Renu Khator that was published in the Houston Chronicle. In the Aug. 16 conversation, Whitmire told Khator he would "stop dead and pass leg (legislation)" unless she killed a plan to require freshmen to live on campus.
