Pro-LGBT activists are praising Disney’s Toy Story 4 for including a “small but important moment of LGBTQ representation” with a scene of two moms dropping off a boy to school, both of them showing him affection. “At the start of the movie, when Woody’s new owner Bonnie goes for her first day of kindergarten, there’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene where one child is dropped off by two moms. Later, the moms return to pick up their child and give them a hug,” states Gay Times in a June 26 article about the scene. “It’s a small scene, sure, and it’s certainly...

The most jarring fact about New York’s Pride March this year was how perfectly it blended into the surrounding ambience and structures of a hyper-commercialised American megalopolis. There were plenty of freaky sights, to be sure. But from my vantage point – I parked myself at the swanky bar of the Roger Hotel at the corner of Madison and 31st to observe the festivities – the march appeared remarkably… domesticated. This is a painful reality to the most woke among the LGBTQ activists, who detest corporate-friendly “rainbow capitalism”. But I’m afraid the more corporate-friendly side of the movement has the...

You may perhaps have heard about the preteen drag performer who goes by the name “Desmond Is Amazing.” Desmond Napoles is an online sensation who’s appeared on “Good Morning America” and has become a cause célèbre among the LGBT community. In January, a bit of a cultural scuffle happened that may have gone under the radar. Desmond, who is managed by his parents, appeared in December, at the age of 11, at the 3 Dollar Bill, a New York City establishment that is either a “gay bar” (the description used by The American Conservative’s Rod Dreher) or “a queer, multifunctional...

Today the country celebrates Pride with its symbol, the rainbow. The rainbow generally follows the dark clouds: when colour and light once more break through; much like the history of Pride itself. This weekend also marks the 50th anniversary of a police raid on the Stonewall Inn. Its brutality sparked riots that energised the fight for gay equality in the US. The stand taken and the refusal to be beaten down is said to have been the catalyst for the modern gay-rights movement. If today people of the same sex can walk hand in hand without comment, it might too...

Super Happy Fun America, the guys who are going to hold the straight pride in Boston in August are accepting donations to pay off the permit to hold the parade. Seeing as how today is the last day for them to do so and they're only a quarter of the way to their goal, I just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who would like to contribute.

It’s disappointing news for the LGBTQ community as Pride month is celebrated across the US. An alarming new statistic from the annual Accelerating Acceptance report finds that young Americans — generally regarded as the most socially tolerant generation — are less comfortable with LGBTQ people than in previous years. The survey, produced by the Harris Poll in partnership with Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), found that Americans aged 18 to 34 who say they are comfortable interacting with queer people fell from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018 — even among those whom the report considers “allies”...

Prince William has said he would "fully support" his children if they were gay, but admitted he would "worry" about the added pressures they would face. It was something he had thought about since becoming a parent, he said. "I wish we lived in a world where it's really normal and cool, but particularly for my family, and the position that we are in, that's the bit I am nervous about," he said. The duke was speaking to young people at a LGBT youth charity in London. The Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) supports LGBT young people who are at risk...

LGBTQ+ Americans have historically received unjust treatment by the United States government, but some politicians are now looking to correct past wrongs. On June 20, Massachusetts Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren introduced the Refund Equality Act, a bill that would benefit same-sex couples formerly discriminated against through the U.S. Tax Code due to unequal marriage laws. If the act passes, LGBTQ+ couples married in states where their union was recognized before gay marriage was legalized nationwide in 2013 could amend their past tax returns to receive IRS refunds. According to NBC News, that's approximately $57 million in total...

When half a dozen police officers raided a Mafia-run gay bar on a hot New York night 50 years ago, little did they know their actions would spark a movement that reshaped the lives of generations to come. Mark didn't throw a brick that night. And he didn't confront a policeman. But he had something that was perhaps as potent as any projectile - he had chalk. It was handed to him with instructions by his friend Marty as chaos unfolded outside the Stonewall Inn, the police being pelted with coins and bottles. The homeless teenager set off up the...

Rosana Candido, 27, and Kacyla Pessoa, 28, also allegedly sewed a fake female sex organ onto the body because he 'wanted to be a girl' before scraping the boy's skin off his face. "Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed." Growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (farm country) during the 70s and 80s, church sermons often rightly proclaimed the goodness and grace of God for allowing us to be born at this time and in this place....

US diplomats have been finding creative ways to show support for LGBTQ+ Pride month after the White House banned them from flying the rainbow flag. Before this year embassies had routinely hoisted the flag - but this year they were required to seek approval from the state department, which reportedly refused all requests. On Tuesday Vice-President Mike Pence said the ban was the "right decision". He said there were no restrictions on pride flags elsewhere on the buildings. To anyone focused on real world events and relationships, America is obviously the most tolerant and inclusive society that has ever existed. If you are looking for irrefutable evidence, watch an hour of TV commercials created by major U.S. companies. Racially integrated couples, gay couples and families, multi-racial professionals and creators are featured on virtually every one. This would hardly be the case if anti-Black and anti-gay sentiments were perceived by corporate advertisers to pose a significant threat to their sales. The same is true of television programming generally, where series featuring little people, obese people, and every mix of...

A slim majority of Americans favors new civil rights protections for the LGBT community, according to a new Gallup poll released Thursday. About 53 percent of Americans said they believe new civil rights laws are needed to reduce discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The poll’s release comes about a month after the House passed the Equality Act, which includes protections for LGBT people from discrimination in employment, housing and other areas. The bill, which was passed two days after Gallup began surveying for the poll on May 15, is unlikely to be taken up in the Senate....

When Cody Barlow missed the Pride parade in Tulsa -- the closest celebration to his rural Oklahoma town -- he found another way to be an LGBTQ ally. Using duct tape and mailbox letters, he decorated the tailgate of his 1991 Chevrolet Silverado with a rainbow pride flag and a message: "Not all country boys are bigots... Happy Pride Month." Barlow, 28, identifies as a heterosexual man. He has gay friends and relatives who have experienced hatred because of their sexual orientation, he said. He wanted those people and others like them to know they're not alone, even in places...

Twitter began trending the topic of the Straight Pride Parade after a group of Boston fellows decided to take a jab at the polemics surrounding identity politics, and it’s absolutely degenerative stranglehold on today’s culture, which has led to nothing but turmoil and anguish for normal people. According to an article published on June 4th, 2019 by the Washington Examiner, organizer Mark Sahady had to file a discrimination complaint to get the parade approved in Boston, Massachusetts, and plan on hosting the parade on August 31st. The purpose of the parade? Well, according to John Hugo, President of Super Happy...
