The following is a science experiment conducted by Vite NRK do not try this at home. - It's harder to create movement in water than in air, because water molecules are closer together than air molecules. To show the difference in resistance, physicist Andreas Wahl from Viten NRK puts himself in front of a weapon submerged in water and fires it - on himself. Wahl's ballistic myth busting experiment and video evidence will have you second guessing all those underwater Hollywood action movie sequences. See it here.

The guys from Demolition Ranch were out testing to see how bad a squib bullet can damage your pistol. Here's the setup: After firing it, there's now a round stuck at the entry of the barrel and slide. See this in video here.
  • Marlin Sinks Fishing Boat

A while back according to Marlin magazine reports of a marlin capsizing a fishing boat off the coast of Panama while it was being reeled aboard. Marlin Magazine, which obtained the epic pics and uploaded them to Facebook, the fish didn't actually play a role in sinking the boat, though the boat did eventually end up on the bottom of the ocean. Instead, the captain had been "backing down" on the fish, a practice where the boat is put in reverse to help reel in line. A large wave overtook the stern, upsetting the captain's balance, which caused him to...

Hello folks. Taxcontrol here and I am taking over the Brewer/Vintner ping list from Red_Devil 232. The list is for all that work with yeast to produce alcohol. So Beer, Wine, Mead, Spirits, even fuel producers are all welcome. So some questions: - I am going to assume that you want to be on the list unless you tell me otherwise - How often is an approprite regularly scheduled ping to the list (any time a relevant article is posted, weekly, bi weekly, monthly)? - How often should we cover recipes and when? Friday perhaps? - any other thoughts or...
  • The World's Largest Improvised Shotgun Shell

This has gotta be the world's largest shotshellThanks to TAOFLEDERMAUS, you can see this improvised giant shotshell hurl inflatable balls high into the air. This video displays an impressive super shotshell. All of the regular shotgun shell components are there that are usually needed, though significantly larger. The bucket is the shell, Tannerite is the propellant, and then the wadding and the projectiles are inflatable balls, in this case. With a mighty explosion triggered by an accurate shot with an SKS rifle, the balls sail high into the sky. See it here.

We've all seen the videos of people trying to jump over cars. It's the one really stupid way to prove that you are the most athletic person in your group. No matter what the results, it's something that should be videoed. Check out what happens when this acrobatic moose gives it a go, see it here.

Angry Fishing tends to be hard on your EquipmentWe see a lot of fishing videos, many of them are boring. When this video came across my screen I pretty much laughed out loud and made everyone around me have to watch it with me, over and over again. I have been a victim to angry fishing more than once, and these guys take it the extreme. As you are about to see, angry fishing is a real thing. Unfortunately, the only real victims are the rods and reels. When I first started learning how to use a bait caster, I...
  • Insane Fishing Technique: Snake makes the Catch

We've all heard of oddball fishing techniques or crazy fishing stories, but this has to be one of the craziest. A fisherman uses a snake to his advantage in this fishing video. It’s hard to tell exactly what the fisherman was trying to accomplish. My guess is that he was fishing, caught a snake, and while the snake was hooked it bit a fish. What are the odds of that? The other option is the fisherman was using the snake intentionally, to prey on fish. That would certainly be an interesting technique. It appears he was fishing with some variation...

20 years ago, my wife gave away my carboy and put dog food in my ABS plastic bucket that I did my first ferments in. I have constantly reminded her of that violation. This Christmas, she bought two brew kits for me. So of course, I had to try it out right away. I did a kit for a Honey Brown Ale - Similar to Newcastle. Yesterday, I cracked open a bottle with friends.

Can a Safe hold up against a Shotgun?Taofledermaus has just the improvised shotgun shell to try on this tough target. This test of wax slugs is against an old safe. Can an old safe be penetrated by these wax slugs? Well, a full can of beer is what is being protected inside of this safe. Watch as a shotgun loaded with wax slugs tries to strong arm it. At first try the rounds went through but missed the beer can inside the gun safe. Second try the rounds went through the safe and destroyed the beer can. The damage is...
  • Skinning a Deer with a Golf Ball and a Pickup Truck

Yes, another way to skin a deer: a golf ball, a pickup truck, and some rope.Hunters take pride in gutting, skinning, and butchering our own deer, and like most hunters we have our tried and true methods of getting the job done. That's not to say that hunters are not always on the look out for improvements and new methods, but was very shocked at the efficiency of this particular technique. It doesn't take much; just a golf ball, a thick rope, a sturdy pillar and a good ol' truck with a hitch. You can see the video here, it...

Is this really Hunting?Deer season is pretty much done for most of us across the country. We know the real struggle of it, too. Sitting out there through the wind, snow, ice, and all around terrible weather conditions hoping to fill our freezers can be rather daunting. But isn't real hunting all about roughing it out in the wilderness cold? However, there are some that hunt out of luxury deer stands that don’t share this pain. These hunters, the other half, sit on sofas and watch TV while hunting. If it starts to snow, they grab a blanket, turn the...

Shot a pig with blue fatA man from Morgan Hill, CA posted about how he shot a pig on their ranch and noticed that it had blue fat. They did not start cutting open the pig until they had strapped it to the ATV and driven back home so most of the blood has left the pigs body at this point. They have also shot wild pigs on the ranch before and none of them have been blue. A spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife told the Morgan Hill Times experts have "occasionally" seen cases where wild...

A yearling mountain lion killed by a hunter in Southeast Idaho was a little toothier than usual. It had teeth as well as fur and whiskers growing out of the left side of its head. Fish and Game officials in Preston checked the male after it was killed in late December, and are hoping to be recontacted by the hunter to find out where the carcass is. Spokeswoman Jennifer Jackson says that biologists would like to check it out to see from a scientific standpoint just what was going on with the cougar. They're waiting on the hunter to return...

I believe that Browning had the traits of all great inventors. First, they are brilliant in that they can conceive an idea, then picture it and finally have the tenacity to stay with the concept until the job is done. Let's talk about L.P. Brezny. Brezny is one of those guys who is hard to put a handle on. He hails from the windswept plains of South Dakota and is a former policeman - think old cowboy and sheriff with some trapper and mountain man thrown in. But what Brezny is first and foremost is a shooter. Everything from shotgun...

On the last day of 2015, a reporter took a photo of a large buck hanging vertically on the front of a Jeep while being driven down I-10 in Texas. Some people think its a bit of a show-off strutting it down the 160 mile drive. Obnoxious or practical? Read the rest of the story from Hunter Bobby Wuest (70 yrs old) here.
