There are more than 18,000 beds for the homeless on any given night in New York City. But Mayor Eric Adams and other city officials can’t find room for the 1,500 illegal aliens bused to the Big Apple over the last couple of weeks? A cursory examination of Mayor Adams’ criticism of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reveals that Adams doesn’t have a leg to stand on. If there is a “crisis” in New York City of illegal aliens “overwhelming” the city, it’s been manufactured by Adams and Democratic members of his administration.

A second group of asylum seekers arrived in Washington, D.C., Thursday on a charter bus after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to transport migrants from Texas to D.C. This comes just one day after the first bus of undocumented migrants from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, was transported to the nation’s capital. Abbott said the order is a direct response to President Joe Biden's plans to end Title 42 expulsions on May 23. The controversial policy, which the Trump administration implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, restricts migrants from coming into the country under the...

The Republican Party of Texas (RPT) is off to a rocky start with its virtual convention this week. Though the party has worked on putting together a state convention for three years, the coronavirus changed things up at the last minute. Instead of the usual large, in-person convention, it is now a virtual convention. When the convention tried to open Thursday, things did not go smoothly. The RPT planned to stream the virtual convention on its Facebook page and on YouTube beginning at 9:00 a.m. After problems with electronic credentialing of delegates were worked out, the chairman gaveled in the...

So, while we were all enjoying time with our families over Thanksgiving, mail bombs could have killed Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and former President Barack Obama. Yes, that’s right. Abbott even opened the package, which blessedly did not go off. Obama’s was intercepted before it could reach him. This isn’t the first rodeo for culprit Julia Poff. She’s been previously indicted for mailing explosives back in 2016. In this instance, authorities were able to zero in on her using pieces of the mailing label and cat hair (via CBS News): Court documents filed in district court in Houston last week...

Diane Abbott says she has changed her mind on the IRA since the 1980s - and likened it to changing her hairstyle. The shadow home secretary was asked by Andrew Marr if she still thought "a defeat for the British state would be a great liberation". "I had a rather splendid afro at the time. I don't have the same hairstyle, I don't have the same views," she said. Home Secretary Amber Rudd later said she had changed her own hair many times, but not her views on terrorism. The pair vying to be the next home secretary were interviewed...

Early last month, Texas Governor Greg Abbott delivered the keynote address to the Texas Public Policy Foundation. My heart skipped a beat when I read the title to his press release, Governor Abbott Unveils Texas Plan, Offers Constitutional Amendments to Restore the Rule of Law. Take a moment to click the link and scan the highlights. Now, when the governor of the second largest state in the Union, “gets it,” all of us in the COS movement should applaud. Few can match the combined political and professional resume’ of Greg Abbot. He was a Texas trial judge, an adjunct professor...

Arizona, long a hotbed of anti-immigrant sentiment, finally swallowed its pride and sent a delegation to Mexico City, a mission designed to beckon Mexican shoppers north. The 2013 trip was known as the apology tour. Last year, California retooled its Mexico City office and hosted the Mexican president for his first U.S. state visit. Following years of acrimonious relationships with Mexico, U.S. states along the Mexican border are finding that a little good-neighbor outreach serves their economic interests. Texas is about to take what some experts call a similar mea culpa journey as Gov. Greg Abbott visits Mexico with a...

The chairman of the House Armed Services committee called concerns about a special forces training exercise in Texas “silly” on Monday, dismissing conspiracy theories of impending martial law His comments come a week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the State Guard to monitor the exercise, a move widely criticized by Democrats and some Republicans. “These are incredibly capable, patriotic Americans and the notion that they’re going to be some sort of private army for the president to take away all our guns is just silly,” said Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Clarendon.

EDINBURG, Texas — Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott said he is preparing to sue the Obama administration to recuperate the money spent by the state dealing with the recent border crisis. He made the claim on Friday evening when he faced off against his Democratic opponent Wendy Davis during the first gubernatorial debate which was held near the Texas-Mexico border. According to Abbott, the Obama administration failed to secure the border and prevent the immigration surge that resulted in a humanitarian crisis and became a financial burden on the state and the municipalities of the Texas border. During...
