A grisly killing in a small town in Mississippi has local residents on edge and looking for answers. A blond-haired teenager with no known enemies was found walking down a rural road on fire Saturday night. She had been beaten, doused with lighter-fluid and set ablaze. The St. Louis police chief has asked for the FBI's help investigating what he believes was a hate crime attack against a woman in the same Bosnian neighborhood where a man was beaten to death days earlier by hammer-wielding teens, and where assaults have spiked dramatically in recent months. A group of teenagers vandalized a Brooklyn deli on Saturday night after leaving a raucous party nearby, said police. An Oklahoma man who had been suspended from his job was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the gruesome beheading of a co-worker, who was attacked from behind as the man sought revenge, a prosecutor said Tuesday. Alton Nolen, 30, could face the death penalty for Thursday’s deadly attack on Colleen Hufford, 54, at the Vaughan Foods plant in Moore. He also faces two assault charges.

A bias incident is under investigation in Baltimore County. Police say three men walking in the 6800 block of Old Pimlico Road were first approached by a vehicle.
