LANSDALE >> A North Wales teen is accused of chasing and then punching a man who was out running in Lansdale because the teen felt “disrespected,” according to police.
Da’Quan McClendon, 18, of the 200 block of South Third Street, faces misdemeanor counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct, as well as a summary count of harassment, in connection with the alleged Nov. 11 incident.
Lansdale police said that around 5:30 p.m. that evening, officers responded to the vicinity of Church Road and East Hancock Street for a reported disturbance involving a man accosted by four males who were seen running toward the railroad tracks.
Upon arrival, officers said, they encountered a man who said he had been out running on Church Road when he crossed paths with four males, and as he approached them, he stepped to the side to pass them.
The man told officers that as he passed the group, one of the males shouted that he “was disrespecting them and that they were going to have a problem,” according to police.
The man then ran across the street to get away from them, but one of the males ran after him, yelled at him and then punched him in the side of the face, police alleged.
A witness at the scene said that he was driving nearby when the alleged victim ran out in front of his car asking for help, according to police, who said the driver reported seeing the four males running through the baseball fields at Penndale Middle School and heading toward the Crystal Terrace Apartments.

Maybe the guy was guilty of running while white. Lucky he wasn’t set on fire.
I suspect the victim was white or light skinned, because the report said that his face was reddish and swollen.
This story indicates that Da’Quan was black, because he was reported as one of a pair of black and white men, and the other guy is pictured and looks pretty fair skinned.
