Fort Hood officials plan to demolish the medical building where an Army psychiatrist killed 13 people and wounded more than 30 others during a shooting rampage in 2009. Fort Hood spokesman Chris Haug said Wednesday that Building 42003 will be razed, while other parts of the Soldier Readiness Processing Center complex are set to be moved.

The Muslim terrorist group Qa’adat el-Jihad claimed responsibility Saturday for a terrorist bombing in Burgas, Bulgaria. The bombing in Bulgaria last week killed five Israelis, one a pregnant woman. The race to be New Hampshire’s next governor remains tight. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely New Hampshire voters finds Republican Ovide Lamontagne with 48% of the vote to Democrat Maggie Hassan’s 46%. Five percent (5%) are undecided at this point. (To see survey question wording, click here.) The numbers were reversed last week when Hassan held 48% of the vote to Lamontagne’s 46%, highlighting the closeness of the race. In late September, Lamontagne had a 48% to 44% advantage over Hassan. Army psychiatrist MAJ Nidal Hasan, who shot 45 people at an Army base in 2009, appeared in court wearing a beard and is refusing to shave it off. Beards are not allowed in the US military. We are going on four years this fall and this guy has not yet come to trial on charges of "workplace violence."
