OLYMPIA, Wash. - Less than a day after Democrat Christine Gregoire vowed to concede the race for governor unless Democrats come up with enough money for a full rather than partial vote recount, her party said it had the money to do so. State Democrats scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. Friday when they were expected to announce that they had commitments for the $750,000 downpayment to pay for a hand recount of all the votes across the state in a governor's race that is closer than any in state history.
