Thank you. Fletcher appears to be in great shape. One would have to feel optimistic for Haley if the election is fair. I liked reading about the lady on crutches waiting in line to vote Barbour.

Are any of you going to be at the Haley Barbour victory party tonight in Jackson? I will be there. We should all meet and celebrate!

Actually I though about going to the Barbour victory party in Jackson but I'm going to be a GOP poll watcher later this afternoon in Oxford, Miss.

Sounds good to me.

And don't forget about the Philly and Houston mayoral races.

I think Mayor Street will win - assuming of course the FBI doesn't drag hiz honor away to Riker's Island before the polls close.

"I think Mayor Street will win"

It looks pretty dour for Katz right now, but you never know. And besides, if he does well among voters in the 13th Congressional District it could well be a preview of the 2004 open-seat House election.

In Houston, Orlando Sanchez has an excellent chance of making the run-off, although it's not a slam-dunk. A Hispanic Republican mayor of Houston would be a makor coup. If Sanchez fails again, he should consider running for the House in the new Houston-to-Austin district (a heavily GOP seat) or, of he's feeling adventurous, in the Hispanic majority 29th District. Here is Sanchez's campaign site:

The news media is reporting about record voter turnout in the Gulf Coast of MS. This region is the most GOP part of MS. An excellent sign for Haley.

Yep - I fully expect Haley Barbour and Ernie Fletcher to win comfortably in KY and MS.

LA's election on the 15th will be closer though.

Sanchez will probably run for the Austin-Houston district if he loses.

Has there been official speculation on this? Last night I saw a list of prospective or rumored candidates for the 10th CD, and Sanchez wasn't on it.

If the GOP wins in KY and MS, just watch the RATS scream unfolded charges of intimidating black voters. They'll chant this mantra from now until Nov. 15 as a method of energizing black voters in the Bayou State.
