  • DOJ Warns Efforts to Stop 2016 Voter Fraud Could ‘Violate’ Federal Law

A U.S. Department of Justice press release warns individuals who may serve as poll watchers hoping to prevent voter fraud could violate voter intimidation laws. Upon first blush, what may appear to be a middling warning that voter fraud and abuse will not be tolerated by federal law enforcement also casts a shadow over various lawful election activities with broad language apparently intended to caution individuals from performing their duties.
  • Hillary's Anti-gun Stance Becomes Clearer Thanks to WikiLeaks

The tens of thousands of e-mails released by WikiLeaks over the last month have removed all doubts, if any still existed, that Hillary Clinton and her campaign will go to any lengths to erase the Second Amendment's protection of the right of individual citizens to keep and bear firearms. That includes, but is not limited to, using executive orders to undermine the Second Amendment. One e-mail in particular showed how closely Clinton’s campaign staff works with a compliant media and what Clinton intends to do if she is elected president. Wrote a Clinon staffer in the e-mail: Circling back around...

Pressure from the miners’ and energy workers’ union CGT forced the French government to back down on extending the carbon tax to coal-fired power stations. EurActiv’s partner Journal de l’Environnement reports.French governments have always struggled to tax emissions from coal. In 2009, François Fillon had to abandon the idea after his plans were struck down by the Constitutional Council. This time, the plan has been sunk by the country’s biggest union of miners and energy workers. On 25 April, President François Hollande announced the introduction of a minimum quota price for greenhouse gas emissions from combustion power stations. “This price...
  • Obama Unleashes “Intervention Teams” to Wage War on “Ideologies”

A year after the dictator-dominated United Nations declared war on “ideologies” such as “anti-Muslim bigotry” and opposition to mass immigration, the White House cooked up a fresh version of the Obama administration's national plot to supposedly prevent people from adopting unapproved ideologies. The controversial scheme aims to deploy “community-based” teams of “mental health” workers, teachers, law enforcers, social service employees, “faith leaders,” and others to supposedly stop the spread of ideologies that Obama claims can be dangerous or violent. Analysts and critics of the White House plan, though, warned that Obama's supposed attack on “violent ideologies” was in reality a...

Imagine if your main shtick in life is acting as a cheerleader for a program that turns into a colossal flop. Such is now the situation of Sarah Kliff of Vox since it was reported today that ObamaCare premiums are due for a huge price hike.  Before we see Kliff struggling to explain the death spiral price hikes predicted for years by "evil" conservatives, let us read the sad bedside news of the terminal patient via the Associated Press:

Obama administration officials sought on Monday to reassure the public that it was taking steps to counter new types of cyber attacks such as the one Friday that rendered Twitter, Spotify, Netflix and dozens of other major websites unavailable. The Department of Homeland Security said it had held a conference call with 18 major communication service providers shortly after the attack began and was working to develop a new set of “strategic principles” for securing internet-connected devices. DHS said its National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center was working with companies, law enforcement and researchers to cope with attacks made possible...

I just received word from Steven's brother, graciously thanking me for making the welfare call to the police and confirming that what many of us feared had indeed come to pass. I did not inquire as to specifics, but Steven had been in very poor health of late, having had a stroke just under four years ago.

The newest batch of John Podesta’s hacked emails released by Wikileaks shows Obama’s transition team kept lists of Muslim and Asian candidates for jobs in the administration. According to an email chain from 2008, John Podesta received lists of exclusively Muslims and Asians to be considered for jobs in the Obama administration. The email chain revealed that in this process, Middle Eastern Christians were purposefully excluded, or set aside in a separate list, with an aide writing,~SNIP~ This follows a pattern of the Obama Administration using race and religion to determine hiring, with other leaked emails showing potential political appointees...

State Department spokesman John Kirby defended his boss, Secretary of State John Kerry, on Monday for accepting an award for his role in negotiating the Iran nuclear deal along with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Kirby and Zarif were given the annual Chatham House Prize for finalizing the agreement in July 2015 and working to implement it in January 2016. Critics of the deal in the United States say that it does not do enough to curb Iran’s nuclear capabilities and gives the Islamic Republic too much sanctions relief without addressing the country’s malign activities in the Middle East.

A judge sentenced former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane on Monday to 10 to 23 months in prison for committing multiple felonies stemming from a politically motivated act of retribution. Kane, who resigned after her conviction of perjury and obstruction in August, also will be on probation for eight years following her release, according to Kim Bathgate, spokeswoman for the Office of Pennsylvania Courts. Kane faced a possible 12-24 years in prison, according to Kate Delano, a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Premiums will go up sharply next year under President Barack Obama’s health care law, and many consumers will be down to just one insurer, the administration confirmed Monday. That will stoke another “Obamacare” controversy days before a presidential election. Before taxpayer-provided subsidies, premiums for a midlevel benchmark plan will increase an average of 25 percent across the 39 states served by the federally run online market, according to a report from the Department of Health and Human Services. Some states will see much bigger jumps, others less.

The Obama administration said Monday premiums for Obamacare will increase by an average of 25 percent next year. The Department of Health and Human Services said each of the 39 states currently served by the federally run online insurance exchanges will experience different price hikes. Three large insurers have decreased participation in the Obamacare marketplace, which will leave one in five consumers with only one insurance plan to chose from.

This past weekend a leaked Wikileaks document revealed the Clinton campaign uses bogus polls to discourage the opposition from turning out on election day. This is how the Clinton machine operates — Release bogus weighted polls that show Hillary ahead and hope her opponents will stay home. Now there is proof the Clinton campaign used this tactic on Bernie Sanders in Michigan. Real Clear Politics had Hillary up 21 POINTS in Michigan.
  • Thousands of Soldiers Forced to Repay Enlistment Bonuses a Decade Later

The Pentagon is seeking to recover decade-old reenlistment bonuses paid to thousands of California Army National Guard soldiers to go fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Los Angeles Times (link) reported that nearly 10,000 soldiers, many of whom completed multiple combat tours, have been ordered to repay the cash bonuses after audits revealed widespread overpayments by California Guard officials. The soldiers say the military is reneging on old agreements and imposing severe financial hardship on those whose only mistake was to accept the bonuses, which amounted to $15,000 or more.

Migrants from China (2,130); Russia (1,863) and Armenia (448) were caught at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2016—and President Obama is priming them—along with migrants from Syria and South America, to vote for Hillary.  $10 million in taxpayer dollars were recently repackaged by the Obama administration’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) into “citizenship integration grants.” The funds were distributed to various organizations that help register migrant voters, including in the key swing states of Florida and Ohio, reported Judicial Watch.  The Obama administration also expanded the unconstitutional Central American Minors (CAM) program to include protection from deportment for individuals...
