  • Donald J. Trump Jr.: Inspiring, Tough, and Brilliant Speech at RNC

Donald Trump Jr. is only 38 years old, but his mastery of the speaking and motivational art is way beyond his years. Have a listen.  It was a great speech: brimming with zingers and nuggets of wisdom.  In fact, I'm gonna have another listen because I want to take away more of his great points. This young guy's got it all: the inner strength, powerful delivery, good looks, and smarts.  In fact his Wikipedia profile says he speaks fluent Czech. If he wants it, this guy has got a great future in politics.

Today, the Justice Department petitioned the Court “for re-hearing of this case before a full nine-Member Court.” Success is unlikely here. If five Justices wanted to hold the case until there was a ninth Justice, rather than deciding the case by a 4-4 margin, they could have simply held it over, like they did with Citizens United. That didn’t happen, which tells me that they could not broker a compromise internally. Instead, they made the somewhat striking decision to affirm by an equally divided margin. Nudging from OSG is unlikely to change the equation. The immediate effect of this petition...
  • Baton Rouge Killer Recorded Himself Telling Black Men in Dallas to Wake Up After Attack on Police

The best friend of Gavin Long, aka Cosmo Setepenra, tells how a Marine became a sovereign citizen and, eventually, a mass murderer. Before he killed three Baton Rouge cops, Gavin Long drove to Dallas one day after a black veteran like him slaughtered five white police officers. Once there, he recorded himself preaching a message for black men: It’s time to wake up. Long visited two barbershops with a stack of self-published tomes and a camera clipped to his shirt to record his proselytizing. “I want to give you something that you can’t lose, something they can’t take from you,”...

A year ago, two police officers in New York were executed while they sat in their patrol car. A week ago, five cops were killed in Dallas. Now three more officers have been murdered in Baton Rouge by a man inspired to kill because he believed the news about police unfairly targeting black men. If you are to believe to President Obama, who issued a statement right after the shooting, these events should not be linked to anyone or any movement: “These attacks are the work of cowards who speak for no one. They right no wrongs. They advance no...

Boston police are being warned to check their cars before driving off after a cop's vehicle was tampered with. The officer, whose name is not being released, was driving away from the police department's District 1 station, in central Boston, yesterday when his rear wheel came off. He was not injured in the incident but when the cop took the car to the shop for repairs, a mechanic found the car had been tampered with. Someone had loosened or removed the lug nuts holding the wheel in place before he drove away....

Narrative busted. Per Chicago’s WGN, what’s beautiful here is not really that black people and a white cop join together in hugs and prayers. That is really not all that unusual, despite what the race-obsessed media and political class would have you think. What’s beautiful is that they do it so audaciously and clearly understand they’re busting the media narrative of White Cops vs. Black Citizens. That narrative is Bolshevik and the public needs to understand that. Credit to WGN for showing this, and in its own way, cutting against the grain of its own industry, which wants a race...
  • Commemorating the Repeal of the Stamp Act

The United States Postal Service puts out many beautiful stamps. One current “forever stamp” isn’t as nice to look at, but you should still consider using it the next time you decide to send some snail mail. It commemorates the repeal of the Stamp Act in 1766. If you’re like me, you probably have a vague memory of learning about the Stamp Act in grade school. Back then I wondered why it was such a big deal that the colonists had to pay more for stamps, because when I thought of stamps, I thought postage stamps. But for the American...
  • Green Chickenhawks, You’re Missing a Great Opportunity!

We haven't had a good series on the Chickenhawks of the Radical Left in a while. You might remember some of the previous ones - paternity leave, minimum wage, and of course, my first chickenhawk post from three years ago, also about green chickenhawks! But now let's return to the chickenhawks of the Church of Climate Change. Where a few years ago I asked why they don't invest more of their own money in green technology, let's look at it from a simpler angle of how they live their everyday lives. A few months ago a few of this strange cults'...
  • Detroit Soccer Team Turns to Private Investment to Fund New Stadium

When Detroit's semipro soccer team needed a bigger stadium to accommodate its growing fan base, it did something unusual. Instead of seeking tax breaks or subsidies to support its ambitions, it turned to private supporters, mostly fans. It did so with the help of the Michigan Invests Locally Exemption or MILE Act. Detroit City FC raised $741,250 from 527 investors to refurbish Hamtramck’s Keyworth Stadium. The team’s first game at its new home, on May 13, was a sellout with 7,410 tickets sold. That was more than double the 3,500 tickets it was limited to selling when the team played...

No thrill up the leg, but maybe something running down it. I first noticed this with Joe the Plumber. Ordinary citizen finds himself with a moment in the spotlight and uses it to criticize the president. The media immediately springs into action - not in support of the citizen’s right to dissent, but as a mass prosecution team demanding to know who this ingrate is, and what right he thinks he has to cast aspersions on the high exalted leader. He heard in the days that followed the Obama/Joe interaction that Joe was not a real plumber, didn’t have a...

The decisions of the UNCLOS “compulsory” arbitration tribunal are not enforceable in the conventional legal sense The international arbitration tribunal, constituted under Annex VII to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (“UNCLOS”), issued its final Award on July 12th in the so-called “compulsory” arbitration instituted by the Republic of the Philippines against the People’s Republic of China. The Philippines had sought rulings on a number of issues, including the source of the parties’ rights and obligations in the South China Sea and the effect of UNCLOS on China’s claims to historic rights within its claimed ‘nine-dash...

Americans who are sick and tired of Obama’s Marxist misery and his trying to shoehorn in a thirds term by foisting ‘Crooked Hillary’ on them want to be in an America where Rudy Giuliani is ‘America’s Mayor’ Rudy Giuliani, Sheriff Dave Clarke, Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell and others who addressed loudly cheering throngs at the Republican National Convention last night sent President Barack Obama right into a tailspin—a tailspin that drove a president whose time is running out all the way back to Clint Eastwood’s ‘Empty Chair’ speech. At the 2012 Republican National Convention actor/director Clint Eastwood roundly assailed Obama...

Before someone says President Obama did no such thing and that Baton Rouge, like Dallas, cannot be laid at his doorstep, let us consider his own statement that “words have consequences”. From Ferguson to Baltimore and beyond President Obama’s words have been the equivalent of yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre. He has encouraged a false narrative of racist cops and racist police departments whose officers are guilty until proven innocent, or buried, whichever comes first. If there is a Pearl Harbor in this war on cops, it was Ferguson, Missouri, where President Obama’s Justice Department sent 40 FBI agents...

Our federal government was not assumed by royalty or nobility, but was created by the sovereign states. The creature and the limited delegated authority entrusted to it at creation cannot be superior in power to their creator. The federal government may be larger in size, but not necessarily greater in authority. Understanding this foundational principle and enforcing proper governmental boundaries are essential to protecting the people from the tyranny of a large, centralized government. America’s application of this principle is unique in that local elected officials are not considered lesser in terms of authority, but greater. For example, county sheriffs...

Let’s make Paul Ryan the new Eric Cantor. Please donate to his challenger Paul Nehlen at http://www.paulnehlen.com/. Ryan’s lies are catching up to him. He is locked in a primary fight that, with your help, he can easily lose. A new poll in his district shows his challenger Paul Nehlen has closed up 30 points in the last six weeks and has Ryan down to 43% support. Nehlen is just 11 points down at 32%. With a huge 25% “undecided” it is very easy to envision the normal 70% of undecided voters who go to a challenger, going to Nehlen...

A decades-old law paved the way for quasi-governmental bodies to tax private businesses and then use the money to entice tourists to the area. A business owner who objects to the practice has recently filed a lawsuit in the matter. “The Tourism mafia,” as George Galbraith calls the local tourism bureau, has cost him an estimated $5,000 a year in revenues. Galbraith owns The Landings on Indian River, which offers tourists cabin rentals and a marina in Indian River, Michigan, a small community in Cheboygan County.
