Steven Hayward has a great article in The Weekly Standard on the Climategate scandal. Be sure to check it out. The response to my op-ed by global warming alarmists has been interesting. Former Vice President Al Gore has called me a “denier” and informs us that climate change is “a principle in physics. It’s like gravity. It exists.” Perhaps he’s right. Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it. However, he’s wrong in calling me a “denier.” As I noted in my op-ed...

Al Gore: Earth's Interior 'Extremely Hot, Several Million Degrees' By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive) November 18, 2009 - 10:27 ET VIDEO OVER HEREFor several years as uneducated sycophants in the media gushed and fawned over every utterance from former Vice President Al Gore, NewsBusters has informed readers of just how absurd the junk science he's peddling really is.Last Thursday, NBC "Tonight Show" viewers got a perfect example of how the Nobel Laureate basically makes things up, and that his poor grades in college were quite an indicator of just how little he understands about science. So egregious was his...

Many readers will remember the scene in Dr. No when we first see Sean Connery: “Bond,” he says, flipping open the lighter and applying the flame to the cigarette. “James Bond.” In the background the Bond leitmotif swells forth, letting us know exactly what manner of creature we are dealing with. Al Gore should boast such a signature song, too. I recommend the tune from the Twilight Zone: irritating, repetitive, creepy — everything Al Gore’s theme song should be. It should play every time he appears to speak on television or before the public and should waft out of computer...

The California Air Resources Board gave truckers a break Wednesday on the state's tough diesel emissions rules, acknowledging that the bad economy has both improved the state's air quality and made anti-pollution upgrades unaffordable. After a nearly seven-hour public hearing in Sacramento that featured more than 80 speakers including truckers, health and environmental advocates and even high school students from Oakland, the air board ordered modifications to the rules drawn up for consideration in April. Those changes could include significant delays in enforcement of the rules, depending on how quickly the economy recovers. The board also could add new exemptions...

Junk Science: The Environmental Protection Agency's sneak attack on the U.S. economy and our freedoms, curiously timed for the opening day of the Copenhagen climate charade, won't go unchallenged. Nor should it. (snip) EPA administrator Lisa Jackson, in a conversation with Sen. James Inhofe, ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, has in effect admitted the finding was based on the junk science and data manipulation practiced at Britain's East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU). "She told me that EPA accepted those findings without any serious independent analysis to see whether they were true," Inhofe said. Dr....

It's natural to behave irrationally To a psychologist, climate change looks as if it was designed to be ignored. It is a global problem, with no obvious villains and no one-step solutions, whose worst effects seem as if they'll befall somebody else at some other time... ...Psychologists studying the issue say that the now-familiar warnings about climate change kick at emotional dead spots in all human brains -- but especially in American brains. ...The obstacles to progress -- internationally and in the U.S. Senate, where a climate bill is stalled -- aren't just mental.

There also is nothing in the record to suggest a hacking. Indeed, there is tremendous reason to suspect a whistleblower, tracing back the evolution of the demands for the information, the denials, and the information’s path into the public realm. Yet whichever it was changes nothing about the substance, all of which is found in documents subject to the UK’s freedom of information act. Which raises the second, ultra-whiny complaint sniffing about “private emails”. Actually, in looking into this I have yet to see one private email. So far I have only found more than a thousand emails subject to...

The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) begins today in Copenhagen, Denmark and brings together politicians and scientists from across the globe to address manmade climate change. As if on cue, the Gore Effect has struck much of the United States with record setting cold and snow. The Gore Effect was coined in recent years for the unseasonable weather that oftentimes accompanies appearances by former vice president and Nobel Laureate Al Gore or when a global warming event is held. Cold and snow have followed Al Gore and these events across the globe with amazing frequency since 2004. * See...

Not even the Green Peace nuts believe that any more. Green Peace leader Gerd Leipold recently admitted that his organization’s claim that the Arctic Ice will disappear by 2030 was “a mistake.” But, today Al Gore attacker denier Sarah Palin for not believing his global warming junk science. MSNBC reported: In an interview that will air on MSNBC at 1:00 pm ET today, Al Gore rebutted Sarah Palin’s Washington Post op-ed and Facebook postings that question the science on climate change given the “Climate-gate” controversy. In response, Gore said that “the deniers are persisting in an era of unreality. The...

There are certain facts and figures in the course of daily life that should be instinctive common knowledge (e.g. There are 50 states in the United States, Obama!). This is particularly true for those who not only present themselves as experts in a given field (e.g. provocateurs of the globalclimatewarmingchange hysteria), but also those who present themselves as responsible, intelligent adults capable of leading others. On a consistent basis, “Algore” laughably proves himself to be neither. CONAN O'BRIEN: Now, what about ... you talk in the book about geothermal energy... AL GORE, NOBEL LAUREATE: Yeah, yeah. O'BRIEN: ...and that is,...

Hacked e-mails from top environmental researchers, which appear to question whether humans influence climate, have been misunderstood, former Vice President Al Gore said Wednesday. "The climate deniers tried to create the impression that that's what was in those stolen e-mails, but when you put them in context, it's clear that's not what [scientists] were doing, " Gore said on CNN's "American Morning."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled his planned trip next week to the Copenhagen summit on climate change. Aides to Netanyahu said the reason for the cancellation was the high expense that would be borne by the taxpayer. Summit organizers foot the bill for hosting heads of state and an entourage that is limited to six individuals. However, due to the extensive security detail that accompanies visiting prime ministers, Netanyahu aides said the cost for the visit would be excessive. Sources close to the premier added that conference organizers required that the Israeli delegation reserve hotel rooms for a minimum...

A former vice president and a former vice presidential nominee are engaged in a public battle over climate change, a tiff sparked by Sarah Palin's op-ed in Wednesday's Washington Post and furthered by Al Gore's rebuttal on MSNBC. In a piece titled "Copenhagen's Political Science," the former Alaska governor charged that "leading climate 'experts'" have "destroyed records, manipulated data to 'hide the decline' in global temperatures, and tried to silence their critics by preventing them from publishing in peer-reviewed journals." Gore bit back during an interview with NBC's Andrea Mitchell to air Wednesday afternoon. The former presidential candidate said "the...

Why should any visitor to a Christian country be offended by Christian traditions and decorations? I’m not offended by the overt signs of other countries’ differing religions and traditions; in fact, I enjoy them. What is more, I know for sure that there are Christmas trees and decorations in Dubai, that go up as the Eid celebration finishes. One officious counter lady in our local PO tried to stop me using a proper (ie Religious) stamp on a card to Dubai 2 years ago. She was astonished when I told her that she would see Christmas decorations there...

Although The Times was among the first to report on the e-mail, in a front-page article late last month, and has continued to write about the issue almost daily in the paper or on its Web site, readers have raised a variety of complaints: Some say Andrew Revkin, the veteran environmental reporter who is covering what skeptics have dubbed “Climategate,” has a conflict of interest because he wrote or is mentioned in some of the e-mail messages that the University of East Anglia says were stolen. Others wondered why The Times did not make the e-mail available on its Web...

"Leaked agreement throws Copenhagen into crisis The Copenhagen climate talks has been rocked by the leak of a draft final agreement which weakens the role of the United Nations in climate change negotiations and abandons the Kyoto Protocol. The "Danish text" draft agreement, published by the UK's Guardian newspaper, has been described as a dangerous document for developing countries. Over the past week, parts of Denmark's proposal have leaked into the public domain, but this is the first time it has been published in its entirety. According to the Guardian, the secret agreement has been worked on by a group...

According to a criminal complaint, 41-year -old Stephen Louis Olson of Backus was angry the county planned to log the trees. Cass County officials say the stand is thinned every ten to 15 years. About 100 of the 600 trees were slated to be cut down and sold this month. The money would have benefitted the community and school district. - Authorities say the entire forest must be cut down due to safety concerns. Mike Diekmann of the Cass County Sheriff's Office says that if a saw hit one of the nails, "it would explode like a gun going off"...

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama will Monday meet former vice president and international environmental crusader Al Gore, as he prepares to travel next week to the Copenhagen climate conference. What's become known as "Climategate" may be about to explode on this side of the pond as well. Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, has threatened a lawsuit against NASA if by year-end the agency doesn't honor his Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for information on how and why its climate numbers have been consistently adjusted for errors. "I assume that what is there is highly damaging," says Horner, who suspects, based on the public record, the same type of data fudging, manipulation and suppression that has occurred at Britain's East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU)....

Global warming culture has arrived. What does the theory of anthropogenic global warming signify? On the Web Site of the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise we find a page on coping with economic sabotage. "Sabotage is a wartime concept," it says. "In simplest terms, sabotage means deliberate or underhand damage or destruction, especially carried out for military or political reasons." This includes "interferences with production ... as by enemy agents...." There is also another definition that should be referred too, as well. Political subversion may be defined as the "lending of aid, comfort, and moral support to individuals, groups, or organizations that advocate...

As Climategate is exposing the IPCC conference in Copenhagen as an exercise in political flatulence based on fraud within the scientific community scientific and a bizarre conspiracy by Leftists to establish control and power over the world, President Obama is determined to commit the US to an International Treaty that will compromise our sovereignty and economic security. In a desperate effort to lend credibility to a movement that is being continuously exposed everyday as nothing more than a scam, Obama apparently believes that he can salvage the Hoax with his presence and charm. COPENHAGEN (AP) - Climate campaigner Al Gore has canceled a lecture he was supposed to deliver in Copenhagen. The former vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner had been scheduled to speak to more than 3,000 people at a Dec. 16 event hosted by the Berlingske Tidende newspaper group. The group says Gore canceled the lecture Thursday, citing unforeseen changes in his schedule.Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider says the decision was made because of "all the events going on with the summit." Phil Jones, director of the research program at the center of "climategate," temporarily stepped down from his post Tuesday. And last week, Pennsylvania State University said it would launch an inquiry into the conduct of Michael Mann, one of its professors and perhaps the world's most prominent paleoclimatologist. Messrs. Jones and Mann have both been key contributors to the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The emails leaked from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit two weeks ago revealed, among many inconvenient truths, the corruption of the IPCC's process of assessing climate science. Still, despite the probes into...

THE scientific consensus that mankind has caused climate change was rocked yesterday as a leading academic called it a “load of hot air underpinned by fraud”. Professor Ian Plimer condemned the climate change lobby as “climate comrades” keeping the “gravy train” going. In a controversial talk just days before the start of a climate summit attended by world leaders in Copenhagen, Prof Plimer said Governments were treating the public like “fools” and using climate change to increase taxes. He said carbon dioxide has had no impact on temperature and that recent warming was part of the natural cycle of climate...

Warming Scandal: The architect of climate fraud steps down, the creator of the infamous "hockey stick" is investigated, and Australia's parliament defeats cap-and-trade. We love the smell of truth in the morning. As the high priests of what Czech President Vaclav Klaus has called a "religion" prepare their pilgrimage to worship the earth goddess Gaia in Copenhagen, complete with humanity being sacrificed, the heresy of climate truth is finally being heard. Your humble correspondent has been checking the Huffington Post Green section every day since the ClimateGate scandal exploded. After all, that Green section is pretty much predicated on the theory that the earth is warming dangerously and that Man is the cause of it. At first, the Green section had a few relatively minor stories attempting to dispute the revelations of the ClimateGate scandal. However, today the Huffington Post went into a complete panic mode on this topic. Bigtime. The Green section now features a huge story at the top of the page by Katherine Goldstein which features a slideshow...

Jon Stewart on ClimateGate: 'Poor Al Gore - Global Warming Debunked Via Internet You Invented' By Noel Sheppard Created 2009-12-02 10:43 If people around the world needed any more assurances the growing ClimateGate [0] scandal is far more significant than America's media has been portraying, they got it Tuesday night from Comedy Central's Jon Stewart. Somewhat surprisingly, "The Daily Show" host in his opening sketch tore apart the scientists involved in sending the obtained e-mail messages involved for showing "a clear effort to raise fears about global warming, and hide evidence against it." Stewart even mocked the man responsible for...

The whitsleblower deep in the baement of one of the ugly, modern-tower blocks of the dismal, windswept University of East Anglia could scarcely have timed it better. In less than three weeks, the world's governing class - its class politique - would meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to discuss a treaty to inflict an unelected and tyrannical global government on us with vast and unprecedented powers to control all once-free world markets and to tax and regulate the world's wealthier nations for its own enrichment: in short, to bring freedom, democracy, and properity to an instant end worldwide, at the stroke...

First up was Saad Ali. As he approached Gore, he peacefully and respectably asked, “Sir, can you comment on the emails and documents that were hacked [ClimateGate] that reveal… that the research was a fraud and that it was all manipulated?” Gore, with an evil smirk, claimed that “he never read them.” By the look on his face and his stutter, it became quite clear that Gore was extremely uncomfortable with the question, so he quickly glared towards his security. The agents grabbed and assaulted Saad, escorting him away from Gore for merely asking a simple question. The press took...

Still think there's no money in spreading global warming alarmism? Well, how'd you like to make $1,200 just for shaking someone's hand and having your picture taken with the sycophant? Appearing on The Alex Jones Show yesterday, Lord Christopher Monckton went further than ever before in his vehement opposition to the elitists running the climate change scam, calling for the UN to be shut down and for fraudulent peddlers of global warming propaganda like Al Gore to be arrested and criminally prosecuted. Monckton said that those who are threatening to shut down economies, bankrupt nations, and deepen the problems of the third world by implementing draconian policies in the name of global warming should be indicted, prosecuted and imprisoned “for a very long time”. “The fraudsters and racketeers from Al...

He started late, made them laugh for the first 5 minutes then gently kicked out the media. “I’m Al Gore and I used to be the next president of America,” he said. Everyone laughed. “Now I’m a recovering politician”. In the script of his speech which he was to deliver after the dozen or so journalists were escorted out of the ballroom, Gore argues “Physical changes in our planet will influence global business and require new corporate strategies that take into account the broader environmental, social and political issues involved in shaping the clean economy of the future.”

In November 2008, Slawek’s team will continue work begun last year to investigate two lakes, Lake Mercer and Lake Whillans, located under the vast West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS). They will travel to each of their study sites by snowmobile, set up camp, and begin a laborious and explosive process known as “active seismic imaging.” This is a common and time-tested technique, employed by geologists during the 1957–1958 International Geophysical Year, to image layers of ice, water, and sediment using sound waves generated by detonating dynamite. Sounds simple, but it requires serious labor and extreme care. For each survey, Slawek’s...
