Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly says six state leaders are ousting her from the Eagle Forum organization she founded because of her support of Donald Trump, and five of them support Sen. Ted Cruz. Schlafly released a statement Monday claiming the group is trying to take over the organization by controlling bank accounts, firing employees and hiring their own. “I think it’s an attempt to vote me out,” Schlafly told the conservative World Net Daily. “It’s disloyal, and it’s terribly shocking, and I’m completely depressed about it.” Among those Schlafly called out by name Monday was Cathie Adams, who served as...

YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM! Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old. On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally. But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s...

Only weeks ago, Obama signaled intentions to cut $400 billion from Defense, but key Democrats are already talking about even large cuts of $1 trillion to Defense. Such a move would signal a broad American retreat from the world and erode our national defense for many years to come. Obama's military budget shenanigans are yet another reminder that the key characteristic of Obama’s involvement in any aspect of U.S. life--economics, policies or participation on the world scene—is that Obama's policies have left Americans with a weaker world presence as a result of his involvement. The Gang of Six proposal called...
  • Enough of This "Gang Of" Crap (Modern political usage of term started with ChiComs)

And, by the way, a little history question. Do you know where this "gang of" stuff started, in our lifetimes at least? I'm sure that there have been gangs in the history of humanity, but in the political realm, the original gang was Gang of Four. Mao Tse-tung's wife, a ChiCom broad, led a Gang of Four in an anti- something or other movement. So a cultural revolution equaled murder. And Mao's wife, Mrs. Mao, led the Gang of Four against it. So this "gang of" crap can be traced back to the original brutal, murderous ChiComs.

“Proposal” might be giving it more credit than it deserves at this point. Right now, the Gang of Six entry into the deficit reduction/debt ceiling debate better resembles a statement of principles with few specifics, which is one reason why no one expects the Go-6 to have a bill ready for a vote for weeks or perhaps even months. Barack Obama has already begun hedging his “no short-term debt ceiling increase” pledge in order to accommodate the Go-6 team. Right now, there isn’t even enough specifics for the CBO to score the plan to determine whether it actually accomplishes what...

Some Republicans are getting desperate over the debt-ceiling debate, but we hope not desperate enough to embrace the Gang of Six proposal. It may be the worst of the debt-ceiling compromises placed before them to date. The authors allege that their plan will eliminate some $3.7 trillion from the projected federal deficit over the next decade — and allege is the right word. The main deficit-reduction instruments would be a $1.2 trillion tax hike and deep cuts to defense spending. Neither of those proposals addresses the fundamental long-term spending drivers, which are the entitlement programs, mainly Social Security and Medicare....

The key to the Senate Gang of Six deficit-cutting grand bargain is the combination of higher tax revenue with lower tax rates. The former makes Democrats swoon and Republicans are sweet on the latter. The first date was a hit, with a surprising number of senators declaring their everlasting love and President Obama giving it his blessing on Tuesday. But just how much do the two sides know about their partner?

Washington (CNN) -- The burst of enthusiasm Tuesday for the "Gang of Six" debt reduction plan as a possible way out of the debt ceiling crisis appeared to fade Wednesday as Democratic and Republican lawmakers studied and found fault with the details of the proposal. Most notably, both sides highlighted well-worn party-line divisions: conservatives complained the plan would raise taxes while liberals warned it would cut entitlement benefits. It would be irresponsible for us to try to rush through such a complex package without time for meaningful review," said Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the Budget Committee who...

National Debt: No wonder President Obama has so heartily endorsed the "Gang of Six" deficit plan. Just like everything Obama has offered so far, it's short on details and long on tax hikes. Soon after the "Gang of Six" — a bipartisan group of senators that has been trying for months to put together a deficit reduction plan — issued its new proposal, President Obama praised it as "a very significant step" that represents "the potential for bipartisan consensus." What it really represents is Washington at its worst. The "plan" Obama was praising isn't a plan at all, but a...
  • Pro-Growth Plan From The Gang of Six

There are a lot of known unknowns about the new "Gang of Six" budget proposal. But conservatives should hold back from trashing it. Why? There's a large, pro-growth tax-reform piece in the plan that would lower tax rates across-the-board. This is a stunning reversal of the Obama Democrats' soak-the-rich, class-warfare campaign. The best part of the Gang of Six plan is a reduction in the top personal tax rate from 35% to a range of 23% to 29%. For businesses, the rate would drop in the same manner. And the corporate tax would be territorial rather than global, thereby avoiding...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new bipartisan plan to reduce government borrowing would target some of the most cherished tax breaks enjoyed by millions of families — those promoting health insurance, home ownership, charitable giving and retirement savings — in exchange for lowering overall tax rates for everyone. Many taxpayers would face higher taxes — a total of at least $1.2 trillion over the next decade, and perhaps more. The details and impact of the plan, released this week by the bipartisan "Gang of Six" senators, emerged as President Barack Obama called congressional leaders to the White House on Wednesday to...

THAT'S it? For the past six months, six members of the Senate Finance Committee, led by Chairman Max Baucus, have been laboring mightily to design a health-care bill. Yesterday they finally brought forth their product -- and it leaves us with more questions than answers. Despite months of work, Baucus hasn't really produced a bill yet, only a 223-page summary of what he hopes a bill will contain. Here is some of what we know and don't know: First, he claims the bill would cost only $856 billion. (Remember when that sounded like a lot of money?) In fact, that...
