A would be carjacker was stopped by an armed citizen in Atlanta and held at gunpoint until police arrived. Edgar Horn, 61, allegedly slipped into the passenger's seat of his car as he pulled into a Family Dollar on Marietta Boulevard. "You know what this is," Horn allegedly told Fannin. A Georgia mother and substitute teacher says she was arrested and placed in shackles because of her son's unexcused absences. Julie Giles reportedly wrote on Facebook that a warrant had been issued for her arrest after her son tallied 12 unexcused absences from school. ATHENS, Ga. – A Georgia man who saved a dog from a hot Mustang has been arrested for smashing a window to free the animal. Multiple news outlets report that Michael Hammons of Athens was charged with criminal trespassing after freeing a small Pomeranian mix in distress from a hot car outside a store.
