A would be carjacker was stopped by an armed citizen in Atlanta and held at gunpoint until police arrived.
Edgar Horn, 61, allegedly slipped into the passenger's seat of his car as he pulled into a Family Dollar on Marietta Boulevard. "You know what this is," Horn allegedly told Fannin. That's when Fannin pulled out his gun and told Horn to get out of his car. Apparently Horn thought he could just leave, but Fannin wasn't having any of that.

Video at link. Well, lookie here, a White-on-Black crime. Regardless, nice work, Mr. Fannin! So because of the nature of this incident there won't be any hand wringing the left about the need for stricter gun control legislation and getting guns off the streets and citizens acting as vigilantes and blah blah blah.

Well, now, he DID tell him to get out of the car.
;)
He should have said, hey stand outside. I want to introduce you to some folks with squad cars.

Horn was unarmed and 61. Horn said that he was meeting a friend, and his friend's car looks like Fannin's car. Watch the video and listen carefully to the dialogue.

Have a look at the video in
comment #8, and listen carefully to the dialogue from the cellphone video.
So, what did the police look like?

Sorry not buying it. Let his friend show up with the car to prove it and perhaps they could let him go. Problem is when you get into someones car that you are not invited it is illegal. You can’t just hop into someones car.

You cant just hop into someones car. I had it happen to me. I was parked in front of my wife's place of work, waiting to pick her up. Building has many hundreds of employees. Passenger door opens, and some young woman slides into the seat, puts on her seatbelt and proceeds to touch up her makeup. She chastises me "Come on, let's go!". The whole time I'm staring at her because she is not my wife. She finally looks at me, realizes it's the wrong car and turns beet red in the face. So yes, you can just hop into someone's car! (Then there were the times when I was young and tossed some gals out of my car - different story.)

What I meant was you can’t “legally” just hop into someones car. Just as you can’t legally just walk into someone’s house uninvited.

I'm with you. Where was the 'friend' while all this was going on? Why didn't the guy ask his 'friend' to come down to police station and show the police and the complainant his car? Where is the 'friend' now?
The town I live in is one of several that claims to be the birthplace of Memorial Day, and every year at this time I have every clod and his brother parking on my lawn, wandering around in the neighborhood to see what they can lift from a porch, and generally making nuisances of themselves.
Last year to the day I had some jackass "mistakenly" walk into my house; obviously surprised when I confronted him he said, "is Pete around?" [There is nobody in my neighborhood named 'Pete.'] I told him I was just on my way to my office to get my 45. For some reason he left abruptly.

The cops actually shook Fannin's hand after they arrested him. It seems as if they were looking for Horn, is Horn a suspect in a crime, or does he have outstanding warrants?
