  • Question re: Cruz/GOPe poaching delegates?

    04/19/2016 7:48:13 PM PDT · by Jim Robinson · 292 replies
I heard Cruz saying tonight that he has "conservative activists" working the delegate to woo them over to his side. Is this true? Isn't it much more likely that the GOPe insiders are working the delegates? They control the party apparatus, not conservative activists.
  • A FReeper discussion on the history of Trump's conservative pro-America positions

Some people claim that Trump only recently arrived at most of these viewpoints, so I'd like to discuss Trump's history with each of these issues (sorry for the length but I think these important topics deserve to be delved into). I was told yesterday that Trump is a liberal Democrat. Trump’s political registration records since 1987 are public and available online. During this period, Trump has been a registered Republican for more than twice as long as he was a registered Democrat. If people would bother to read his books, look at the full-page ads he took out on policy...

I was told yesterday that Trump is a liberal Democrat. My reply: Build the wall. Enforce the law. Deport them all. End sanctuary cities. End anchor babies. Slap a moratorium on muslim immigration. Cut the taxes. Cut the spending. Cut the regulations. Cut the government. Cut the debt. Cut the EPA. Repeal ObamaCare. Get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines. Send education back to states. Get a handle on trade. Make trade deals in our own best interests. Bring back capital. Bring back manufacturing. Bring back jobs. Strengthen the economy. Defend the second...

Why are the effects of the Colorado convention still lingering, and why have they taken on a life of their own? It's certainly not because of "Trump's whining." If you believe that every criticism of every campaign event by ANY side is "whining," well, yeah, Trump "whined" (just as Cruz's supporters seem to be "whining" about the NY dinner). If you want to take that line, why has this seemingly touched a nerve that Trump's "whining" about so many other things did not? History is replete with instances where the specific developments were badly misunderstood, misreported, or didn't happen at...
  • Can we (calmly) talk about this delegate selection process?

You could see it scattered across multiple headlines by Sunday night. Trump LOSES weekend delegate fight in five states! To read these ledes and the twitter feeds of the #NeverTrump crowd you’d have thought there were nearly a half dozen elections you somehow slept through and Trump had been trounced in all of them. The reality, of course, is that there weren’t any public elections and the only time Trump was actually beaten anywhere in recent memory was in Wisconsin. But what Trump was losing at was the race to collect delegates who are loyal to him and will...
  • Path to certain failure: NeverTrump + NeverCruz = NeverWin = LostSCOTUS = LostFreedom = LostNation

Captain obvious here again, but NeverTrump/NeverCruz is not the way. We all have our favorites, but don't lose sight of the mission. The mission on FR is to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY!! It's a lot bigger than you or me or our personal opinions or egos. It's about the very survival of our nation and the promise of freedom for future generations. Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction and he was 100% correct. President Clinton or President Sanders means the end of freedom in America. Do not let...

As a former prosecutor and now defense attorney, I’ve had a number of thoughts about Clinton’s case, which mostly deal with tactics and logistics and not so much with the actual evidence itself. For these thoughts, I put myself in the shoes of the U.S. Attorney who gets this case dumped in his lap. What, exactly, are you dealing with? 1. Your defendant, thanks to the very graft machine you are expected to prosecute, will have access to almost unlimited financial resources. Unless the FBI has identified all the shady “shell corporations” where Hillary has hidden her money, and you...

Thousands of columns have been written that attack the Republican candidates.  And I daresay, Free Republic has probably excerpted several thousand of them. As a Trumpster, I'd certainly rank RedState as the most outrageous liar and most vicious attacker of all the blogazines that seem to be dedicated to sinking Donald Trump.  National Review comes in a close second. And if you're a Cruzer, you probably wouldn't shed a single tear to discover the National Enquirer had been accidentally torpedoed and sent to Davy Jones' locker. But slander is actually as old as the Republic! Have a listen to...

Some may consider the status quo as a good period for the oppressive dictator in Iran. With U.S. President Barack Obama generously relieving most sanctions under the nuclear deal, the mullahs have jumped to the opportunity for saber-rattling by test launching ballistic missiles, caring less about violating numerous United Nations Security Council resolutions. Tehran has with the utmost temerity humiliated America by capturing its sailors and provoked emotions through firing unguided rockets at a dangerously close range from U.S. ships. Despite all this, President Hassan Rouhani is on a campaign to convince the West Iran is actually a wise place...

Rudyard Kipling wrote a prescient poem in 1919, called "Gods of the Copybook Headings.". This is, simply put, a must-read poem. Copybooks were texts that allowed British schoolchildren of the time to practice penmanship, and the phrase they would copy -- often a phrase of a sermon, or some wise aphorism -- would be featured on the copybook heading. Kipling was appalled by the counterintuitive modern thoughts of the day, and wrote the poem to point out how eons of wisdom and experience of humankind were hard-won, and he urged us not to embrace the depraved 'shortcuts' we began to...
  • 'Devastating' New Ted Cruz Sex Scandal Brewing

Late last month we learned from the National Enquirer that Ted Cruz has had up to seven different mistresses. Sure the Enquirer isn’t the most reliable source, but they did beak the John Edwards sex scandal. Now Ted is going after them for running the story. That begs the question, is it because he is guilty? Now that Ted Cruz seems the only competitor for Donald Trump for the nomination for president, the wheels seem to be falling off the wagon. The Cruz fans weathered the Enquirer story by writing it off as fiction. But when the attorney for the...

Exodus 13:2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine. Oh boy Trump stepped in it again by claiming women should be punished for having abortions. The Conservotocracy had a collectivist cow over the thought feminists would be offended by something a Republican would say. What was worse is he did not celebrate it or make a victim of the woman, but did the unthinkable and made the baby the victim. Perhaps having his fifth grandchild this week made the debate more personal than...

GOP Delegate and Popular Vote Analysis The idea that the GOP Establishment is now openly pushing for a brokered convention where neither Trump or Cruz becomes the nominee is atrocious and a blatant attempt to subvert the will of the people. Here the thing. Two candidates, both of them recognized as anti-establishment candidates to the GOPe have garnered the following thus far through the votes in 35 states: Delegates - 78.42% (Almnost 80% of the delegates) Popular Vote - 64.69% of the popular vote. Clearly, the PEOPLE are saying very loudly that they do not want any of the establishment...
  • Cruz Comes Out for Abortion: Even If Abortion is Illegal 'Women Who Get Them' Should Not Be Punished

The Cruz campaign has gone on record supporting women getting abortions. The campaign says there should be no punishment for those women if abortion is illegal. Deadline Hollywood reports: Ted Cruz campaign chairman Chad Sweet...this afternoon told CNN’s Jake Tapper that Cruz believes in punishment for doctors who perform abortions, not the women who get them. Pro-life supporters are scratching their heads. If they succeed in getting a pro-life amendment, Ted Cruz appears to be saying that the amendment should contain some kind of non-culpability clause, so that Congress can write any law resulting from a Life Amendment in a...

Judges 4:16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left. The latest PC version of the Religion of Peace is Radical Islam, whatever that means. How can you tell Radical from fundamental or any Islamic Christian hating zealot? When you believe in the sanctity of murdering Christians and Jews how is that not radical? This is just another PC method for liberals to force tolerance on the masses. It is time to tell...

AFTER MARCH 22ND, ONLY DONALD TRUMPhas a viable path to winning the nomination through the Primary Process Some people are saying that the Utah caucuses were fraudulent. I do not believe they were. They were caucuses...and Cruz has always had a better ground game in most of the caucus states. On the other hand, Trump has typically not done as well in Caucus states. But in the end, Utah will not matter. Here's why: Even though Trump has lost several primaries with relatively low percentages, overall Trump is still winning big time. Kasich won 1 contest Rubio won 3...

The delegate math is essentially impossible. The contested convention your silly buzz-cut supporters and the GOPe VIPS are fantasizing about isn't going to work. Despite having all kinds of new friends in the establishment, they're not going to "broker" you in. You're done. Bye. Quit wasting everyone's time and money.

I know this is a vanity post but as I was at the Trump rally Saturday in Tucson I felt as if I had to write something. When I am angered I like to write out my thoughts and share them. And this time I felt like I HAD to do it, just like Trump said that he didn't want to run for president, he felt like he HAD to.
