Police have searched the home of former President Jair Bolsonaro in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, as part of an investigation into his Covid vaccination records. Police suspect the ex-leader's vaccination record was forged so he could gain entry to the US. Officers seized the mobile phone of the former president and that of his wife and arrested some of his close aides as part of the operation. Mr Bolsonaro has denied any wrongdoing. The former president is a vocal opponent of Covid vaccinations, who repeatedly spread false information about the vaccine and its alleged side effects.

Fiona Hill, former National Security Council senior director for Europe and Russia, will testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the impeachment probe into President Donald Trump. Hill told lawmakers in closed-door testimony last month that then-national security adviser John Bolton expressed concerns that the Trump administration was trying to pressure Ukrainian officials. The focus of the impeachment inquiry is a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked Ukraine's president to investigate 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who sits on the Judiciary Committee, said Sunday that she regrets that her party eliminated the filibuster for approving most judicial nominees. When Democrats controlled the Senate in 2013, then-Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) invoked what's known as the “nuclear option” to get around Republicans blocking President Barack Obama's judicial nominees. Now, with the nuclear option firmly in place, Democrats have little power to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation. During an interview Sunday on NBC News's “Meet the Press,” Klobuchar said that, in retrospect, the Democrats should have left the procedure alone.

LONDON, England -- The Duchess of Cornwall, the second wife of Prince Charles formerly known as Camilla Parker Bowles, is to undergo a hysterectomy operation at the beginning of March. A spokeswoman for Clarence House, the Prince of Wales' official London residence, said the Duchess, who turns 60 this year, was not suffering from cancer. The spokeswoman said the Duchess would carry out public engagements in the run-up to the routine operation, including an overseas tour with Prince Charles to a number of Middle Eastern Gulf states.
