A Chipotle manager was fired from a Saint Paul, Minnesota branch after a video of her refusing to serve black customers went viral. But social media users pointed to old tweets from the man who posted the video that suggested he had a history of dining and dashing. In the video, posted to Twitter last week, the white manager is seen laughing and telling the group of men, “You gotta pay cause you never have money when you come in here.” As one of the men is filming, a white customer was allegedly given their meal for free, according to...

The company bid on 127 acres in the industrial park, of which the average of two appraisals is $6,183,500. • Thanksgiving Day Wine Question (Total Vanity)

Thanksgiving Day is approaching and we are spending the day at our son's house with his family. Our other son and his family will be there as well. Usually I bring the wine, some whites for the Ladies and Reds, for us. For the red I usually bring a merlot based Bordeaux from my modest collection. Problem this year: Included in the festivities will be my sons father-in-law, a very likable guy and we get along great. The issue is, he prefers his Red, with a couple of ice cubes in it. I cringe at the thought of ice going...

VIDEO These smoked turkey wings turned out VERY spicy. Just the way I like them. Plus they are low/no carb so they help me to lose weight. After I tried them, my wife declared them to be too spicy for her. Me? I like to feel the heat. However, although I mentioned smoking them in addition to turkey for Thanksgiving, I better wait for another occasion since if my wife found them to be too spicy, her sister and her family will probably have the same reaction.
  • VANITY: Where does the guy who drives the Weinermobile get lunch?

I am working 2nd shift (1PM to 10 PM local AZ time) so I was running my errands in the late morning. When I spotted the Weinermobile, and the driver exiting, I saw he was going to have his lunch at Culver's, a place that doesn't even sell hot dogs, much less Oscar Meyer hot dogs. For those unfamiliar with Culver's, it is a fast food hamburger/chicken/fish/sandwich/custard joing that is headquartered in Wisconsin. Founf in the midwest, SE, and now SW. It is a couple of notches above McDonald's etc. in quality, presentation and cleanliness. It was also rated...
  • South Korea: The women of the Gwangjang Market

    11/09/2018 9:26:51 AM PST · by 2ndDivisionVet · 23 replies
The sun sets on a cool autumn Sunday afternoon but the action is just getting started at one of Seoul's oldest establishments - the Gwangjang Market. The century-old market began its life as the Joseon dynasty was coming to an end with merchants looking to counteract the increasing influence of their Japanese counterparts. It survived the Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula from 1910-1945, but part of the market was destroyed in the 1950-1953 Korean War. What survives today is a bustling market that offers traditional clothes and persimmon-dyed fabrics. Fresh fish, local meats, rice cakes, and huge vats...

    The Korea Times ^ | October 30, 2018 | Kim Rahn
Six thousand people will be invited to make kimchi in downtown Seoul over the weekend at the fifth Seoul Kimchi Festival. The annual festival will kick off at Seoul Plaza and nearby Mugyo-dong area on Friday through Sunday, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said. People in Korea have traditionally made a large amount of kimchi before winter, so they can eat the fermented cabbage during the cold season when it is hard to get greens. Kimjang, the winter kimchi-making practice where families and neighbors gather to exchange labor and share food, is designated on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. During this...

In Honduras she had run a stall selling pupusas, a local tortilla, but been forced to shut down after being extorted by street gangs. "If you don't pay them they kill you," said the woman, drawing a finger slowly across her throat. "It's like a tax of war, money to bandits, and you can't not pay. "They made me pay 300 lempira a week - $12. To you it does not sound like a lot, but for me it was a lot. I had to close." After shutting her stall three months ago the 35-year-old, who gave her name as...

McDonald's is hoping a big new breakfast sandwich will help bring in more customers. Triple Breakfast Stacks will hit menus on November 1. They're modified versions of McDonald's popular Egg McMuffin -- they will include two slices of American cheese, two sausage patties, bacon and an egg, The sandwiches are available on a McMuffin, biscuit, or McGriddles cakes. The new items are designed to help McDonald's solve a problem: Fewer Americans are eating at the fast food chain. A new breakfast could help bring them back. In a statement on Tuesday, the company said that the items are inspired by...

  • Cabal of 12 Korean students conspired to gain weight & dodge military service

    RT ^ | September 13, 2018
Military investigators in South Korea identified a group of 12 students in a Seoul university, who made a coordinated effort to gain weight to become ineligible for mandatory military service. Those involved could face jail time. South Korea has some of the strictest rules about mandatory service. Every young man has to complete his service, with exemptions given to very few, such as people with debilitating conditions or Olympic medalists. For example, being a K-pop idol would not spare one from undertaking military service, so fans of bands such as BTS compile lengthy charts to track when this or that...
  • Trump Fan Kanye West Wears 'MAGA' Hat to Mexican Restaurant

Donald Trump superfan Kanye West put on his red “Make America Great Again” cap and headed into the Chicago suburbs for lunch at a Mexican restaurant on Thursday. The rapper, music producer, and fashion designer ate at Pepe’s Cantina in Naperville, Illinois, for a meal of chicken tacos and to shoot some pool, the restaurant’s owner told CBS Chicago. A Mexican restaurant may seem an odd place for a Trump fan to wear their hat considering the president’s rhetoric about Mexicans and his desire to construct a huge wall at the southern border to keep most of them out. Trump...

A group of Indonesian journalists, including The Jakarta Post, was invited by the Korea Tourism Organization to join a familiarization trip to South Korea. A number of Asian journalists and bloggers from Malaysia, Singapore, China and Japan also took part in the three-day trip. It was raining on the day we arrived in Seoul, South Korea — a typhoon was approaching and a festival meant to welcome autumn was canceled. In many other cities, such a situation would turn a perfectly planned holiday into an expensive misfortune. But not in Seoul, a city so vibrant that not even bad weather...
  • This Is Why McDonald’s Coke Tastes Better Than All the Others

If you’ve ever gone out of your way to get to a McDonald’s just to satisfy a craving for their tongue-tingling Coca-Cola, you know how special the fast food giant’s soda is. The Coca-Cola from McDonald’s manages to taste crisper, sharper, even fresher than the same drink from other fast-food restaurants. It’s almost as if they make the Coke taste better so you’ll come in for a “medium Coke, please” and decide, “sure, I’ll take a medium fry.” (Who among us hasn’t?) Truth is, the Coke from McDonald’s isn’t magic. They just use really smart storage tactics and clever drink-mixing...
