Rick Scott has failed to report more than $200 million in assets on his state financial disclosure form in violation of the Florida Constitution, Democratic attorney general candidate George Sheldon alleged in a lawsuit filed Wednesday. Miami authorities arrested Dolphin’s defensive end Derrick Shelby Saturday morning after an altercation in a Fort Lauderdale nightclub. Shelby’s face is bruised and bloody in a booking mugshot released of the NFL player. According to a Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman, Shelby was causing a disturbance at Off the Hookah, a nightclub located at 111 Southwest 2nd Avenue. The incident occurred around 2 A.M. on Oct. 4.

Of the many things that could be compared to candidates for governor, a wedding dress has to rank pretty low on the list. But the College Republican National Committee did just that with its series of “Say Yes to the Candidate” ads, spoofs on the “Say Yes to the Dress” reality show that airs on TLC. Monday may have been Calhoun County Deputy John Scheetz’s birthday, but he was the one who gave a special gift to someone else. LAKE COUNTY, Fla. —A bomb threat shut down LakeXpress bus service Thursday morning over a bomb threat, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was on scene and searching buses. One bus in South Leesburg was evacuated and passengers were checked out. No devices have been found so far.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A jury in Jacksonville, Fla., found Michael Dunn, a white man who fatally shot a black teenager after an argument over loud music outside a convenience store, guilty of first-degree murder Wednesday. Prosecutors said the 47-year-old Dunn shot with intent to kill when he fired 10 times into a sports utility vehicle carrying 17-year-old Jordan Davis and three of his friends in November 2012. A Tallahassee police officer has been placed on administrative leave after he was caught on camera shooting a woman in the back with a stun gun, CBS affiliate WCTV reports. The Justice Department is not expected to bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, according to three law enforcement officials, despite allegations that the killing was racially motivated. The federal investigation of Zimmerman was opened two years ago by the department’s civil rights division, but officials said there is insufficient evidence to bring federal charges.
