“State Rep. Jeff Barker has introduced a bill that would temporarily delay the release of the name of the officer who shot [LaVoy] Finicum,†KOIN 6 News reported Sunday. “House Bill 4087 already unanimously passed the Oregon House Judiciary Committee.†The bill, which will allow law enforcement to petition a judge for a 90-day stay on releasing the name of an officer, was introduced after the Oregon State Police said it had “received death threats from all over the U.S.†Barker, a Democrat, said he took the action after being convinced by OSP Superintendent Rich Evans that ‘there is a...

SALEM-A Portland-area Democrat is fast-tracking legislation that would shield the identity of the officer who killed Oregon standoff spokesman Robert "LaVoy" Finicum. A proposal by Rep. Jeff Barker, D-Aloha, would let courts bar the disclosure of the name of an officer who uses deadly force for 90 days. To do so, a judge would have to agree there's an imminent and specific threat to the officer's life. Barker put forth a last-minute amendment to House Bill 4087 at request of the Oregon State Police, who told him they've received death threats against the officer who fatally shot Finicum on Jan....

In one of a series of videos posted Sunday, an occupier of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge railed against people who destroyed a memorial for a dead occupier, called for the FBI to most leave Oregon, and took a joyride in a pickup truck with government plates. David Fry, 27, said that most communicaton to the refuge had been cut off, and that it was a "miracle" that he was able to get the video out. Fry starts one of the videos by talking about those who destroyed the memorial for Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, a former occupier who was killed...

Somebody tore down the memorial erected in honor of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupier who was shot and killed last month by Oregon State Police. The base of the cross still stood Saturday, Feb. 6, not far from the rural road on which Finicum died Jan. 26. A wilted rose and scattered leaves lay next to it, and a piece of broken lumber sat just behind it, A pocket New Testament was propped against the remains of the cross, next to a patch of the American flag. A horseshoe lay in the dirty snow....... The destruction...

Excerpted KANAB — Most of the people who came to the funeral of LaVoy Finicum didn't know the Arizona rancher personally. They came anyway, in trucks and campers and caravans, drawn either by kinship with the Finicum family or by sympathy for the cause that took him to rural Oregon. The Arizona rancher was one of the most recognizable faces of the armed standoff in Oregon, where a group of protesters seized the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in early January to protest what they said was federal overreach into Western rangelands. Finicum was shot dead by police on Jan. 26...

"...They are obviously planning an ambush at that.. at that Malheur Wildlife Refuge Center. I think at this point those people's chances of coming out of there alive are about one in a thousand. Those FBI agents yesterday would just as soon have shot us as spoke to us. I mean the hatred was palpable in the air with those men. I was challenging them standing out there unarmed and as you know I, you know I don't look very formidable and they would have just as soon swept us aside as even look at us....we have one last chance,...

Many years ago I was a passenger in a car driven by my brother. He cut off a car leaving a gas station, the car followed us about 1/2 a mile to our destination. The occupant got out, ran up ripped open the drivers door and pulled my brother (a smallish 16 year old at the time) out of the car bodily. Turned out the fellow driving was a LEO (Harbor Master) in an unmarked car. He was also not in uniform. Shortly there after a marked police car showed up, with uniformed police officers. The police wrote my brother...

Burns Chronicles: The Death of LaVoy Finical LaVoy Finicum’s last ride This is the first of a series of articles about the events surrounding the investiture of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge administration buildings by a group headed by Ammon Bundy, son of Cliven and Carol Bundy. The Bundys are well known for the events in Nevada that played out in April 2014. In that incident, the Bundys, along with hundreds of other patriotic Americans, went beyond “civil disobedience†and entered the realm of “civil defianceâ€, defying, with arms, the intrusion of the Bureau of Land Management into the long...

In this explosive interview, Shawna Cox - a passenger in LaVoy Finicum's vehicle and an eye witness to his murder - sets the record straight on what REALLY happened. There are several reasons why we have chosen not to dig into this specific aspect of this event, after posting the first three research articles. Here are the ones we are comfortable stating: The freedom continuum has two diametrically opposing forces on either end. On one end, the left, if you travel outward from democracy to socialism to communism eventually you arrive at totalitarianism. The absolute power of government over the individual. The maximum amount of liberty lost. On the oppositional end, the right, again if you travel from democracy to a constitutional republic and keep going, eventually you arrive...

One explanation of how the shooting of LaVoy Finicum unfolded. Worthy of consideration, IMO.

This is a shortened and edited version of FBI footage showing the joint FBI and Oregon State Police traffic stop and OSP officer-involved shooting of Robert “LaVoy†Finicum on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. You’ll note that Finicum was shot by an Oregon State Police Trooper at relatively close range as he appeared to be reaching into his coat in a manner consistent with attempting to draw a handgun. Flash bangs were then deployed in an effort to get the other occupants of the vehicle to surrender.

The execution of Robert Finicum by some government thugs needs to be investigated immediately by third parties. The family of this murdered man needs legal counsel to get take control of this situation, have the body autopsied and witnesses interviewed now before the government has a chance to cover up what happened.

(CNN)A high-speed getaway attempt and a reach for the waistband are said to have prompted police SWAT team members to open fire on a group of leaders of the Oregon armed occupiers. A law enforcement official described the dramatic showdown that occurred Tuesday night on a desolate stretch of U.S. 395, some distance away from the federal wildlife refuge where the group took over federal buildings nearly a month ago. FBI and Oregon State Police at a command center in Burns were monitoring the group when they departed the refuge to attend a town hall meeting with local residents in...
