  • Mo Dowd: "President Trump's Really Weak Week"

Donald Trump was promising to destroy a vile criminal cartel. Unfortunately, not his own. But one could be forgiven for mistaking the vicious tactics of the MS-13 gang, as described by the president in a Long Island speech on Friday, with those of the Trump White House. “They don’t like shooting people because it’s too quick, it’s too fast,” Trump said, adding: “They like to knife them and cut them, and let them die slowly because that way, it’s more painful, and they enjoy watching that much more. These are animals.” The president could have been describing his own sadistic...

<p>Actress Rosie O'Donnell certainly knows how to push conservatives' buttons. And now she is drawing their ire by pushing her own button: one that makes President Trump jump off a cliff.</p> <p>"Push Trump Off A Cliff Again," O'Donnell tweeted Saturday in an apparent play on Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan. The tweet links to a game in which the player can, as O'Donnell says, make the president jump off a cliff, again and again.</p>

Dear Donald, We’ve known each other a long time, so I think I can be blunt. You know how you said at campaign rallies that you did not like being identified as a politician? Don’t worry. No one will ever mistake you for a politician. After this past week, they won’t even mistake you for a top-notch negotiator. I was born here. The first image in my memory bank is the Capitol, all lit up at night. And my primary observation about Washington is this: Unless you’re careful, you end up turning into what you started out scorning. And you,...

In case you turned off your computer and TV and crawled under the blankets all last week — and, really, who can blame you? — here’s a quick recap of the news. Leaking like an old waterbed, the national security establishment claimed its first big casualty, national security adviser Michael Flynn. President Trump struck back by reaching new levels of weirdness at his Thursday news conference, telling the media pack that they were “hateful” and “dishonest”… but, hey, “it’s a great honor to be with you.”

Serve America or go home The fallout from Obama policies and hirings, which only expanded the growing liberalism under previous administrations, is at the center of mounting assaults against the American people that the federal government was created to defend. The worst of it? The attacks stem from inside our borders rather than outside, but they began as an unimpeded invasion of anti-American sentiment delivered on the backs of the discontented: pie-in-the-sky progressives, refugees and illegal immigrants, who despise the very system they bilk for their own benefit. Ironically, the more they dismantle our system the less they will receive...

The big news for the GOP majority on Capitol Hill last week came as a tweet — and it was not from President Trump. Matt Drudge, the proprietor of The Drudge Report, the conservative website which played a leading role in the rise of the new president, raised eyebrows with this note: “Republican Party should be sued for fraud. No discussion of tax cuts now. Just lots of crazy. Back to basics, guys!”

WASHINGTON — Now, stacked on the Trump tower of petrifying things we have to worry about — war with Iran, war with China, war with Mexico, war with Islam, war with koala bears — there is yet another looming disaster. The East Wing is perilously behind in planning for the Easter Egg Roll. Is the White House dropping the ball — or rather, the ovoid? As our omnipresent new president hijacked our reality, the first lady vanished, sparking headlines for nary a glimpse in D.C. since the inaugural. Just as there is a gush of leaks from the resistance in...

A CNN producer, editor and Iraqi national who was detained at an Atlanta airport on Sunday has filed a federal lawsuit to challenge President Trump's immigration order, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Mohammed Tawfeeq, the CNN producer, has been a permanent legal resident of the U.S. since 2013. Tawfeeq’s CNN duties include frequently traveling to the Middle East, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday. Tawfeeq was detained Sunday at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for additional screening, delaying his entry into the United States.

President Donald J. Trump will walk into the Oval Office and be stunned. First, it will be a shock to work in an office decorated with images of men other than himself. Second, he is bound to be suffused with awe as he looks around at the Remington bronze bronco, the Rockwell “Statue of Liberty,” the portraits of Washington and Lincoln, the Swedish ivy on the mantel that has eavesdropped — and leavesdropped — on so much history. The new president will suddenly realize that Joe Biden is right. He needs to grow up. Chuck Schumer is right. He has...

A Canadian conservative think tank says Jane Fonda’s “an environmental hypocrite” after the left-wing activist and actress protested the Canadian oil sands in northern Alberta. The Manning Centre told The Daily Caller on Sunday that Fonda excoriates the oil sands project because the oil it yields produces greenhouse gasses. But Colin Craig, media manager for the centre, says Fonda has “a carbon footprint the size of a small town,” referring to her jet-setting lifestyle that includes a lot of world travel. Do You Agree With This Criticism Of Jane Fonda? Yes No

Ira Madison III, an MTV News culture writer and host, mocked Sen. Jeff Sessions’ Asian-American grandchildren on Twitter Tuesday morning. Sessions appeared before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary Tuesday to give testimony in connection with his nomination by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as attorney general. Sessions was accompanied by many members of his family, including his four Asian-American grandchildren. The senator’s daughter, Ruth Sessions Walk, is married to John Walk, an Asian-American man. Madison accused Sessions of stealing his grandchildren from Toys “R” Us for the hearing. He went on to call his grandchildren a “prop,” brought...

The least-shocking, long-rumored departure in cable news seems that it is about to happen. The still-dominant Fox News Channel has been through a lot of changes in the past several months, most notably saying good-bye to the man who made it a ratings powerhouse. Now, according to The New York Times it appears that FNC is losing one of its biggest stars:

A group of millennial activists from across the country plan to open a “movement house” in Washington DC next month, which will serve as a permanent base to protest Donald Trump’s presidency. The organizers are mostly women of color, many of whom campaigned for Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary. The house, which will be set up by inauguration day on 20 January, has been dubbed “District 13”, in a reference to a rebellious neighborhood in the Hunger Games books and films. Activists told the Guardian that it will serve as a “space for the best kinds of troublemakers from...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration said Thursday it is officially scrapping a post-9/11 requirement for immigrant men from predominantly Muslim countries to register with the federal government. The U.S. hasn't used the program since 2011, but a top immigration adviser to President-elect Donald Trump has spoken of renewing it.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday fended off a challenge to her long leadership reign, defeating Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) in a closed-door vote prompted largely by Donald Trump’s unlikely ascension to the White House. Pelosi got 134 votes to Ryan's 63 — winning 68 percent of the votes after declaring before the election that she had the support of two-thirds of the caucus. The victory sends a message that while there's a growing appetite for major changes in the party's leadership structure and messaging tactics, it's not strong enough to loosen Pelosi's grip on a liberal-heavy group...

Though the outcome of America’s presidential election is still up in the air, Black Lives Matter has made it clear that one outcome is certain. If Donald Trump is the victor, violence will erupt in the streets. This according to rapper and activist Tef Poe when he took to Twitter to say, “Dear white people if Trump wins young n****s such as myself are fully hell bent on inciting riots everywhere we go. Just so you know.” If you are unsure who ‘Tef Poe’ is, don’t worry, you are not alone. All you really need to know about him is...
