Come November, they'll have a better alternative. CaliBurger, a company so similar to In-N-Out that they were sued over a trademark dispute, has announced that they have signed a lease in the Metropolitan, a shopping center at 10000 Town Center Ave., in Columbia, Md. The restaurant, which has locations in Asia and the Middle East, will open in November.

The head of Arby's restaurant chain has apologized to the Pembroke Pines Police Department after an employee at a local restaurant reportedly refused to serve a uniformed officer. Arby's Chief Executive Officer, Paul Brown, and Senior Vice President of Operations, Scott Boatwright, contacted PPPD Chief Dan Giustino to apologize on behalf of the organization, according to a police report. Both men assured Giustino that the employee's behavior was "unacceptable" and did not represent the company's values. Giustino accepted the apology, and the department considers the matter closed. If you're one of those people who hates missing the end of breakfast hours at McDonald's, hang on just a little longer: the chain says its breakfast menu will be available all day starting Oct. 6. Items like Egg McMuffins, hotcakes, sausage burritos, fruit 'n yogurt parfaits, hash browns and biscuits will be available anytime, although the exact menu will vary in different markets. Regulating fast food kids' meals that include toys may end up making the meals healthier, according to a new study. If a proposed new policy in New York City is approved, then fast food meals that come with toys would contain fewer calories overall, and fewer from fat and sodium, researchers report. NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a security guard has died after a man walked into a federal building in Manhattan and opened fire. The guard, identified by his union as Idrisa Camara, died shortly after the shooting Friday evening. Police say the gunman walked through a side entrance of the building that houses an immigration court and other government offices. Chief James O'Neil says the gunman later shot himself in the head. He was found dead in the building. A law enforcement official identified the shooter as Kevin Downing, of Fort Lee, New Jersey.
