  • Liberal Newsletter rages against Margaret Thatcher

While in Bangor Maine last week I saw the liberal fruit loops downtown handout fliers and protest  against Trump. They were gathered near the bus terminal at the parking garage, beating drums, chanting F donald Trump and so on,  There was  also a table handing out pamplets and leaflets. They were mostly the same, raging against trump, global warming deniers, capitalism ETC. But one that really caught my attention was a single pamphlet they had about Margaret Thatcher. Some of what I read was pretty crazy and yet not so surprising. Essentially they claimed that Britain was the aggressor in...

Britain's last working aircraft carrier and the final surviving warship from the Falklands War is heading for the scrapyard. At least three proposals to preserve HMS Illustrious for alternative uses have failed due to her size and the cost of maintenance. The ship, decommissioned in 2014, is now likely to follow its sister carriers and be sent to Turkey for scrap. HMS Ark Royal was scrapped for £2.9 million in 2013 and HMS Invincible fetched around £2 million in 2011. It is thought the ship, which was rushed in to service for the Falklands War and went on to sail...

Does U.S. President Obama have a foreign policy or should we call it a "dangerous farcical policy." Is he even control of the White House? By now, most people have heard the story of how, "11 Secret Service agents" and "as many as 10 U.S. military personnel," hired prostitutes, drank alcohol, and possibly used illicit drugs -- all in "security preparation" for the president to attend the Summit of the Americas in Columbia. Besides the security debacle, Obama's diplomatic effort, "wasn't exactly smooth sailing." But there's a subtle clincher to Obama's ridiculous Columbia trip which belies his true incompetency, a...
  • Barack Obama makes Falklands gaffe by calling Malvinas the Maldives

President Obama erred during a speech at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, when attempting to call the disputed archipelago by its Spanish name. Instead of saying Malvinas, however, Mr Obama referred to the islands as the Maldives, a group of 26 atolls off that lie off the South coast of India. Cristina Kirchner, the Argentine president, has renewed her country's sovereignty claim to the Falklands in the build-up to the 30th anniversary of the Argentine invasion of the islands, which triggered the Falklands War, on April 2. She has accused David Cameron of maintaining a "colonial enclave"...

Vulcan bombers, designed for nuclear raids on Russia, trained night and day in Scotland and Canada for a low level attack hundreds of miles deep into Argentine sovereign territory, a new book has shown. The news is likely to further strain the poor relations between Britain and Argentina that have been at their lowest since in the Falklands War in the lead up to the 30th anniversary of the invasion. The plans were drawn up by Air Commodore Simon Baldwin, who was the wing commander in charge of the last remaining Vulcan squadron in 1982. The officer "was left in...

The possible transfer to Argentina of a refurbished model of the French manufactured fighter-bomber Super Etendard, which had an outstanding performance during the 1982 Falkland Islands conflict, is under consideration by the French Ministry of Defence, reveals the French publication, Mer & Marine Argentines part of the sophisticated avionics of the Super Etendard Modernized (SEM) model would take place in 2015 when the French navy will de decommissioning their air fleet to be replaced by the new Rafale. However in the event of the operation going ahead it will depend on the availability of SEMs at the moment the French...
