Criminals tend to be optimists, at least when it comes to carrying out crimes. They often envision only one scenario, and assume that everything will go as planned. It is one of the reasons that many criminals depend on imitation, toy, or replica firearms. A number of states treat the use of a replica or imitation gun the same as the use of a real gun in a crime. No state requires a defender to determine if a gun pointed at them is real or imitation. There is no controversey in the law about that. If the defender reasonably...

How the mighty have fallen. A soldier, in uniform, with a pack and a clearly fake gun causes an entire section of Australian civilization to go into the "vapors".Throughout most of the rest of the world, there would hardly be a comment. Seeing soldiers on exercises is common and only slightly noteworthy.Notice that this soldier did nothing that was even remotely threatening, except exist. He did not fire blanks. He never pointed the crude, welded metal sections, vaguely resembling a rifle, at anyone. We (in the United States) would be in the same place if it were not for...

This model is carrying the "edgy" cell phone holder in about the worst or *best* way to make it sensational. The choice of black holder, black phone and black shorts does the most to make the holder look as though a pistol is in the back pocket. It does not hold up to close inspection. From japantrendshop.com: More a piece of equipment than a regular "cover," the Gun Grip Case transforms your iPhone 5 into a handgun! Available in black, white or pink, this fake "pistol" works with an app so you can interact with a digital version of...

In this case in Kentucky, the robber had a fake gun. When the victim pulled his own gun, the robber resorted to a gesture that indicated he did not want a gun fight. But the realistic fake gun was still in his hand. The clerk fired, the robber dropped the fake gun and fled. His accomplices dropped him off at a closed Urgent Care, but bystanders called an ambulance and he survived, barely. Link to video William Sexton's Accomplices Police Chief Rick Sanders joins a growing list of police and Sheriffs who have praised armed defenders. From wlky.com: Sanders...

The concept is an old one. In biology, it is called Batesian mimicry, where an animal that is not very dangerous mimics one that is, with the result that it is attacked far less often. Jonathan at Perceived Carry Decoys has produced a prototype and expects to have production of the first models in the spring of 2015. From Perceived Carry Decoys: What are Perceived Carry Decoys? We're glad you asked! Perceived Carry Decoys is a veteran owned entity that offers the worlds first and only way to exercise your 2nd amendment right, without the stigma or concerns associated...

In the notoriously anti-second amendment town of Madison, Wisconsin, a concealed carry permit holder from Tennessee refrained from shooting a man who menaced him with a fake, but gun shaped and realistic looking laser/lighter. The man drew his real gun but did not shoot. The case contrasts with similar, recent cases where the police have shot people who pointed toy guns at them, and/or refused to obey commands while being armed with what turned out to be fake, but real looking guns. From cityofmadison.com: Shortly after 10:55pm, on 12/24/2014, a 22-year-old female walked out of Walgreens and was planning...
