  • Who's Faster on the Draw? Gun or Knife

Who's faster on the draw? Gun or knife? This segment highlights a person with a gun against another with a knife, both are holstered. At the sound of the signal, each draws to hit their target. (balloons). The person with the gun targets vary from 5-7 yards out and the knife guy balloons is only 4 feet away. This demonstration shows the gun prowess from varying distances and the time it takes to hit the target, which is more impressive than watching the guy draw his knife. Don't know what do you all think? View the who's faster on the...

There are countless television shows that far outstayed their welcome, becoming almost unwatchable self-parodies by the end. The Drew Carey Show, The Office, and Scrubs are three extreme examples of this phenomenon. As series drag on, show fans become show writers and what ends up happening is effectively fanfic on screen. It’s why The Simpsons still makes the same jokes again and again. Parks and Recreation isn’t unwatchable yet, but boy is it close. This is a shame. While the series was never great, it was still one of the most consistent sitcoms of the last decade. All the characters...

Keaton's acceptance speech took a personal turn as the 63-year-old actor became teary-eyed and choked up on stage as he discussed his family and mentioned his birth name, Michael Douglas. "In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple: work hard, don't quit, be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful, also to never whine ever, never complain, and, always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor. My name's Michael John Douglas, I'm from Forest Grove, Pennsylvania. I'm the son — seventh child — of George and Leona Douglas. And I don't ever remember...

OK, FREEPERS, LET'S START THIS CONTEST FOR THE GREATEST SONG OF THE '80S. The baseline for the contest is the top 7 hits of each year of the '80s, as compiled by BILLBOARD. This is not based on personal preferences, biases, prejudices, or counter-culture reactivity. The rules in general will be to vote for everything shown. No equivocating, ties, or omissions. Votes will only be counted if the "ballot" is complete. ROUND 1 We begin by using the #7 songs of each year and paring them from 10 songs to 4 (to set up brackets for the rest of the...

Two painted chow chow dogs posing as pandas have been seized from a circus in northern Italy, after tricking children into handing over cash, police have said. The male and female dogs were seized by police after it became clear that they were not, in fact, pandas. To an unassuming child visiting the circus in Brescia, a small furry animal with white and black stripes may do the trick. But The Local readers may notice a distinct difference. Here is a real panda: Panda photo by Shutterstock. And here are the dogs-in-disguise: The police were not fooled, who said the...

I SPENT the summer producing new “Candid Camera” shows, and among the many things I observed after a 10-year hiatus was that people are more easily fooled than ever. That may seem counterintuitive, but I’m certain it’s true. Much has to do with multitasking. When my dad, Allen Funt, introduced the show over six decades ago, he had to work at distracting people. Nowadays they do it to themselves. Many people we now encounter are fiddling with cellphones and other devices, tackling routine activities with less-than-full focus. That makes them easier targets for our little experiments, but also more vulnerable...
