Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party is ashamed to say “England” for fear of appealing to racists, a damning party report says. The English Labour Network — set up by Labour moderate MPs — ordered a study to look at how to champion patriotism. But the group, which was founded last year, found that Labour is too scared to mention England, or celebrate St. George’s Day — which is today. The report warns: “Labour’s biggest single problem is we often don’t mention England even when talking about England.” It adds: “Some activists are uncertain about celebrating St. George’s Day or reflecting English...

President Donald Trump is increasingly relying on his personal cell phone to contact outside advisers, multiple sources inside and outside the White House told CNN, as Trump returns to the free-wheeling mode of operation that characterized the earliest days of his administration.

inland has decided to end its experiment with a universal basic income, in which people are paid an unconditional salary by the state instead of benefits. The idea of a universal basic income has high-profile champions such as Richard Branson, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. But the Finnish government's enthusiasm for a pilot scheme, a European first which garnered worldwide attention, is petering out. Calls for extra funding for it were rejected and the two year trial will not be extended after next year.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) immediately blamed the "f*cking Russians" for Hillary Clinton's loss.

"Instead of open minds and lively debate, I found dogmatic progressive ideology and groupthink. One attendee told me that I, a former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer, am “no better than Roger Ailes” because my company aggregates both liberal and conservative commentaries and thereby is “pushing a right-wing agenda.” Someone else said: “Trump supporters are so stupid . . . they think the tax bill was a good deal because they got back—what, a few thousand a year?” I don’t claim to have the answers. I am, after all, a card-carrying member of the liberal elite. I went to high school...

Howard Dean Compares Trump’s Voter Base to Neo-Nazis Burning Swastikas BY: Cameron Cawthorne April 23, 2018 8:33 pm Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean on Monday equated President Donald Trump's voter base to Neo-Nazis burning a swastika down in Georgia over the weekend. Dean, a former Democratic presidential candidate, quote-tweeted a tweet by women's rights activist Amy Siskind that included a link to an article about Neo-Nazis who gathered for a rally over the weekend in Newnan, Georgia. "Trump base voters," Dean tweeted. Trump base voters. https://t.co/MIuradRgLw — Howard Dean (@GovHowardDean) April 23, 2018 "The neo-Nazi rally on Saturday...

Washington Free Beacon writer Elizabeth Harrington said Monday on Fox Business that the media spin stories to hurt President Donald Trump "just because it's Trump," even if the news is beneficial to him. Harrington noted that after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced over the weekend that his country would halt its nuclear and missile tests ahead of a planned summit with Trump, the media praised Kim's negotiating rather than Trump's diplomacy. "They can't give Trump credit for anything," Harrington said. "If this was Obama, he would be getting the Nobel Peace Prize." "It is such a detriment to...

Dylan Matthews provides yet more proof why nobody should ever treat Vox as a serious publication. In the past this Vox writer suggested we ditch the U.S. Constitution for a parliamentary system of government, get rid of the U.S. Senate, and opined about how American Independence in 1776 was a "monumental mistake." In his latest incarnation of bringing down the American system of government, Matthews pretends to moderate his demands by suggesting that after President Donald Trump is removed for office that the Electoral College and midterm elections be abolished. He presents his latest far left fantasy dripping with disdain for...

Kyle Kashuv is a Parkland student who, just like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, was at Douglas High School the day Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 of his classmates. Unlike Gonzalez and Hogg and many other Douglas survivors, Kashuv has been a lone, persistent student voice in favor of gun rights and the Second Amendment. Despite his support for the right to keep and bear arms, Kashuv didn’t own a firearm and had never fired one. That changed over the weekend when he went to a range with his father. He tweeted stills and video of the range session. As...

State Dept. Official Reportedly Passed On Second Trump ‘Dossier’ Written by One of Clinton’s Most Discreditable Supporters Last week, the Guardian reported the FBI is looking at a second Trump “dossier,” in addition to the one compiled by former British spook Christopher Steele at the behest of the Clinton campaign. The second dossier is allegedly compiled by Cody Shearer. “One source with knowledge of the inquiry said the fact the FBI was still working on [the ‘Shearer dossier’] suggested investigators had taken an aspect of it seriously,” notes the Guardian. “It raises the possibility that parts of the Steele dossier,...

Former Sen. Tom Coburn endorsed Republican candidate Mike Braun on Monday in the Indiana Senate race. “Like myself, Mike is a social & fiscal conservative who supports term limits,” Mr. Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, said in a statement. “As a successful businessman, Mike brings the very knowledge and background that is badly needed in our U.S. Senate today.” Mr. Coburn was known in the Senate as a budget hawk and published a yearly “Wastebook” to show some of the more ridiculous examples of government spending. He also made term limits his major policy initiative both while he served in office and...

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted in favor of Mike Pompeo's nomination for Secretary of State 11-9-1 on Monday, thanks to Sen. Rand Paul who flipped from opposing to supporting his nomination. Why it matters: At one point, it appeared that Pompeo did not have the votes for a favorable recommendation from the committee, which would have marked the first time in nearly 100 years they voted against a Secretary of State nominee. But with the endorsement in tact, Pompeo's nomination is now headed to the Senate floor for a full vote, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ensured a smooth...

Planned Parenthood is once again proving its hunger for powerful allies in government positions. GOP control of the Senate is narrow, and with the upcoming Senate races, the power balance could tip in favor of Democrat, pro-abortion advocates. Planned Parenthood knows this, of course, and will be pouring a reported $30 million into abortion advocacy through its political arm. This money will be spent on Senate and gubernatorial races in a number of states, including Arizona, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and will be used to fund TV and digital ads, direct-mail campaigns, and even advocacy in the public square....

SALT LAKE CITY — Mitt Romney will again face a Kennedy in an election with a U.S. Senate seat on the line. Not one of those Kennedys. (Romney lost to Ted Kennedy in the 1994 Senate race in Massachusetts.) This is Mike Kennedy, a conservative state legislator from Alpine who outgunned Romney at the Utah Republican Party's state convention over the weekend, getting himself into a primary election June 26. Romney had already qualified for the ballot through signature gathering. But who is this guy? In short, Kennedy is a married father of eight children who works as a family...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will unveil a plan for the federal government to guarantee a job paying $15 an hour and health-care benefits to every American worker “who wants or needs one,” embracing the kind of large-scale government works project that Democrats have shied away from in recent decades. Sanders's jobs guarantee would fund hundreds of projects throughout the United States aimed at addressing priorities such as infrastructure, caregiving, the environment, education and other goals. Under the job guarantee, every American would be entitled to a job under one of these projects or receive job training to be able to...

Bryan Steil, a former aide to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), on Sunday announced his bid for Ryan’s congressional seat, The Associated Press reported. “I want to take my problem-solving skills to Congress. I think they need problem solvers, doers ... not talkers,” Steil reportedly said. No viable Republican candidate had entered the race before Ryan announced his retirement earlier this month. The primary is scheduled for Aug. 14. Steil, who is from Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, sits on the Board of Regents for the University of Wisconsin, the AP reported. He served as an economic adviser and legislative aide to...
