FULL TITLE: ‘Planned Parenthood is a business that sells sex’: San Fran parents outraged that abortion giant taught sex ed to kids A group of high school parents in the East Bay area of San Francisco were surprised and upset when they learned Planned Parenthood was teaching sex education to their children in the district’s schools. “Planned Parenthood is a business. It’s a business that sells sex,” Acalanes Union High School District resident Camille Giglio told the local CBS affiliate KPIX. “It’s a way to get clientele and to sexualize young people and turn them into lifelong clients.” Giglio is...

"We live in a world where the entertainment media and the news media alike have demonized the firearm as a frightening, high-efficiency killing machine. A myth has arisen that I call “hierarchy of lethality.” It is the false belief that the firearm represents the nuclear level of hand-held weaponry, and is somehow more lethal than other deadly weapons...."

The tab for the group of 15 people topped out at almost $300. According to BSO, the party guests...

The Los Angeles Unified School District suffered through another rough week with its new and malfunctioning student records system. Outages resulted in teachers not being able to use the system during portions of the workweek. One of these down periods also caused teachers to lose grades they had input into the system. Supt. Ramon Cortines gave elementary principals the option of going back to paper report cards -- a work-around that proved to be surprisingly complicated. Also, some schools are still having problems with accurate attendance data. Another problem has arisen with data for students who are learning English. "A...

Janis, I.L. (1982). Groupthink: A psychological study of policy decisions and fiascoes. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company. I took a few liberties with Mr. Janis' symptoms of groupthink and recast them here as The Eight Commandments of the Left. Consider it the ultimate Rosetta Stone to unlocking the mystery of everything the left says or does. Turns out the left really DOES NOT think, they just fetch and execute Von Neunamm style and pass it off as intellect. I Thou shall create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking II Thou...

A teacher from the Republic of Ireland has been turned down for a job in South Korea due to the “alcoholism nature” of Irish people. Katie Mulrennan, from County Kerry, had applied for a teaching job in Seoul. She was told by an agency that their client did not hire Irish people due to their perceived drinking habits. The 26-year-old told the BBC that she could not believe the email was real at first. […] Last week, she received a reply that said: “I am sorry to inform you that my client does not hire Irish people due to the...

The pro-life students who were assaulted by University of California Santa Barbara Professor of Feminist Studies, Mireille Miller-Young have filed sit against her. In August Miller-Young was sentenced in a criminal case in connection with an assault on pro-life young people who took the pro-life message to the UCSB campus. Miller-Young was sentenced to 108 hours of community service, 10 hours of anger management, and three years probation for her assault on a group of pro-life students in early March. Post-Election Special: The Evolutionary Psychologist Knows Why You Vote -- and Shop, and Tip at Restaurants Denyse O'Leary November 5, 2014 3:32 AM | Permalink Ever since Darwin's The Descent of Man, in which he proposed the theory of sexual selection (how some are selected to pass on their traits), his followers have extended his thoughts to encompass just about all aspects of human nature. First there was social Darwinism, which fell into disfavor after World War II because its theories justified colonialism, exploitation of labor, and eugenics. These policies were developed much earlier and for reasons unrelated to Darwinian theory, but the...

This new Congress MUST represent the people of the country now. With Common Core, our grade school students are being asked to repeat the tenets of Islam. I thought religion wasn't allowed in the schools? Common Core Head, Arne Duncan, withholds education monies, required to be sent to the Federal Gov't from ALL states, from states that don't go with Common Core. With Obamacare, the Fed Gov't is already sucking up Health dollars for other purposes, not having anything to do with Healthcare. We want our freedom to choose our Doctors again! Make Health Insurance competitive, allow Health Insurance to...

Since 1929, there have been seven Republican presidents: Herbert Hoover, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. All of those presidents saw the unemployment rate rise during their term in office, with the sole exception of Reagan, who saw it drop by an impressive 2.3 percent, according to numbers by Nate Silver, formerly of the New York Times. Conversely, there have been seven Democratic presidents since 1929: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. All of those presidents saw the unemployment rate drop...

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) last week released its annual Report Card on American Education, where it grades states’ education policy based on six areas: state academic standards, charter school laws, home-school regulations, private school choice programs, overall teacher quality and policies and digital learning opportunities. Interestingly, states sharing the same border often receive very different rankings. For example, Virginia education policies ranked very differently from neighboring Washington, D.C. Virginia received a cumulative “C-” while the District received a cumulative “B-”. Notably, the District provides families greater flexibility with more than 100 charter locations serving nearly 40,000 students, or...

After seeing the demonstrations against the Washington Redskins, I got the idea to demonstrate against the Democrat party. The mention of the name brings back an awful history of pro-slavery, anti-Lincoln bigots. A Party which uses propaganda, deceit, voter fraud, and illegal government targeting of political enemies. Yes. We must have their name changed A suggestion is Pinocchio

A concerned Williamson County [Tenn.] parent stumbled upon < a href="http://www.menacommoncore.com">this, “On October 24 and 25, hundreds of schools, leadership teams, and teachers from across the region will gather in Dubai, to learn about the Common Core State Standards, share curricula and best practices, and network with each other.” "If Common Core is local and state-led why are they holding Common Core conferences in the Middle East including more than 20 other nations? If Williamson Strong is local and parent-led why is their logo included among the international organizations sponsoring this event?” asks Julie West. And, what is MENA? Middle...

Al Gore and his rich global warming friends are probably packing up and off to Florida and/or the Caribbean for the long frigid winter. So this must be the pattern. Come May they start up again blaming every warm weather event on Global Warming right through the fall, and as soon as it gets cold, off to the south! But in the meantime at least we will all have fresh meat to throw at them with another record cold winter, with no response whatsoever from Gore and his band of global climate frauds!

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has released the 19th edition of its annual Report Card on American Education, where it ranks states’ education policy based on six areas: state academic standards, charter school laws, home-school regulations, private school choice programs, overall teacher quality and policies, and digital learning opportunities. Its findings highlight an old fact: more spending does not translate into better outcomes for K-12 students. States spend an average of $11,153 per pupil on education. The District of Columbia topped the list at $29,029 per student – nearly triple the national average – yet achieved only mediocre results....

The Dog Delusion Evolution News & Views October 30, 2014 5:05 AM | Permalink In his latest book, geneticist Wolf-Ekkehard Lönnig of the Max Planck Institutes in Germany takes on the widespread view that dog breeds prove macroevolution. His book is Unser Haushund: Eine Spitzmaus im Wolfspelz?, or in English translation, Our Domestic Dog: A Shrew in Wolves' Clothing? (Monsenstein & Vannerdat, 2014). He shows in great detail that the incredible variety of dog breeds, going back in origin several thousand years ago but especially to the last few centuries, represents no increase in information but rather a decrease or...
