LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department’s first openly gay officer will make his first court appearance Tuesday on domestic violence charges. Retired Sgt. Mitchell Grobeson, 57, was arrested Friday after a nearly four-hour standoff inside a West Hollywood home before he surrendered to a sheriff’s SWAT team. Grobeson is being held on $250,000 bail on suspicion of corporal injury to a spouse, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Three Prince William County Police officers were shot Saturday as they responded to the scene of a domestic-related shooting, police said. The officers are being treated for their injuries, police tweeted. Their conditions are not yet known. In a brief statement, Prince William County police asked for patience as they investigated. Police said the shooter was in custody. The shooting happened in the 13000 block of Lashmere Court in Lake Ridge, Virginia. A Mississippi officer was killed and three others were injured during an hours-long standoff Saturday that stemmed from a domestic dispute, according to authorities. Police in Florida say an argument over pizza ended with a man throwing a hot slice at his roommate. According to the Tampa Tribune, the man's roommate called police after she says Daniel Allen Plunkett, 50, tossed a hot slice of pizza at her. She says it struck her left hand.
