Three Prince William County Police officers were shot Saturday as they responded to the scene of a domestic-related shooting, police said.
The officers are being treated for their injuries, police tweeted. Their conditions are not yet known.
In a brief statement, Prince William County police asked for patience as they investigated.
Police said the shooter was in custody.
The shooting happened in the 13000 block of Lashmere Court in Lake Ridge, Virginia. Several roads are blocked in the area of Quate Lane at Delaney Road during the investigation.

This is in the Northern Virginia area. I thought I read some other details somewhere, but now I have to go find them again.

Domestics are the most dangerous.
It would appear that more than three LEOs need to respond to domestic calls.
To: lightman
Tell me about it. and with his Criminal Justice “reform” he wants to put a lot more thugs back on the street. Heck of a guy.

Three cops not enough? Unless it’s somebody known to the cops as a “regular” you can’t always afford, manpower wise to send lots of cops to each call. Especially on weekend nights. On weekends the night shift gets spread a little thin.

Yes, it would appear that three is not enough, based on recent history in the news.

Every night is starting to look, sound, and feel like a weekend night around here.
Stay safe.

Thank goodness the suspect in custody wasn’t hurt. Otherwise the LEOs would have been charged with excessive force/s.

You may be right. But the fact that we have people who feel it’s acceptable to shoot cops is a big part of the problem. And these people are being persuaded its okay by politicians who tell people they’re being oppressed by the cops and that it’s legitimate to fight back. And the media are complicit with the politicians in presenting this viewpoint. Up until recently I almost never carried off duty. Now I feel naked without it. Things are getting weird out there.

I would be happy to pay for the overtime than read about another cop getting killed responding to a domestic.

The violence of the streets of DC is spilling over to Virginia. We have plenty of crime in Virginia without DC help. Prince William County has serious gang problems, including MS-13. Looks like a nice neighborhood where this took place, but no details about suspect in custody yet.
