A faculty committee has proposed adding a three credit hours requirement in diversity to the general education curriculum at Wayne State University. It also recommended that WSU drop its university-wide requirement in mathematics, an idea that was carried out on June 13. “We are proposing the creation of specific ‘Diversity’ courses, with students required to take one course in this designation,” said a document from the General Education Reform Committee, which is recalibrating what the university will expect from all students who earn a degree from the state university. It released the proposal in May. The committee report said, “These...

(CNSNews.com) – Interior Secretary Sally Jewell said on Tuesday at an event focused on Hispanic-American Entrepreneurship that the national monuments in the nation’s capital need to be more diverse. “If you drive around Washington, D.C., in every circle and every square you generally see a bronze white guy – sometimes on a horse, sometimes not - you have to work really hard – like in front of the Indian embassy you’ll find Mahatma Gandhi,” Jewell said.“A handful of women – maybe – if you look really hard – sprinkled around the city, but there are very few places and memorials...

The nation’s oldest public school – and the alma mater of five signers of the Declaration of Independence – is embroiled in a racial controversy that may be its biggest test in nearly 400 years. Boston Latin School, founded in 1635 and still one of America’s most prestigious high schools, has undergone an administrative shakeup, faces growing demands from community leaders and is the subject of a federal investigation. The controversy arose after two black students claimed on YouTube that racism courses through hallways and classrooms, and the administration turns a blind eye. “The fact that our administration failed to...

German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that multiculturalism has "utterly failed," adding that it was an illusion to think Germans and foreign workers could "live happily side by side." The failure of multiculturalism is also seen in Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and other European countries. Immigrants coming from Africa and the Middle East refuse to assimilate and instead seek to import the failed cultures they fled. Leftist diversity advocates and multiculturalists are right to argue that people of all races, religions and cultures should be equal in the eyes of the law. But their argument borders on idiocy...

The competition for a place on the dishonor roll of bad ideas, past and present, is fierce. But here goes: 1. Eugenics, the theory and awful practice of improving humanity the way experts in animal husbandry might produce a new breed of cattle or kind of chicken. Yet eugenics was championed by such distinguished figures in American history as Margaret Sanger, who set out to make the world safe for the white race, and Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. ("Three generations of imbeciles are enough!") His was a simple enough rule: Three failures to produce healthy offspring and you're out. But...

Last week the Supreme Court of the United States voted that President Obama exceeded his authority when he granted exemptions from the immigration laws passed by Congress. But the Supreme Court also exceeded its own authority by granting the University of Texas an exemption from the Constitution's requirement of "equal protection of the laws," by voting that racial preferences for student admissions were legal. Supreme Court decisions in affirmative action cases are the longest running fraud since the 1896 decision upholding racial segregation laws in the Jim Crow South, on grounds that "separate but equal" facilities were consistent with the...

From Mediaite: CNN’s Fareed Zakaria spoke with Brian Stelter on Reliable Sources today about whether the media being too “elite” was a problem in how it missed the Brexit outcome so badly. Zakaria acknowledged that journalists tend to be “better-educated,’ “comfortable with diversity,” more liberal, and “probably less sensitive to the concerns” of average Britons who supported the Brexit. However, he said, the pro-Brexit campaign was “entirely using emotion, conjuring horror stories” about immigrants and the like, aided on by the British tabloids––which Zakaria referred to as “basically their Fox News.” Zakaria argued that “the media does have a bias...

In March, the City of Seattle installed one crosswalk boasting Pan-African colors in the Central District. The city is now creating 10 more for pedestrians throughout the neighborhood. The first crosswalk was installed at 23rd Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. It is striped with black, green and red — the Pan-African colors. Throughout June, the Seattle Department of Transportation plans to install the new crosswalks, but will first remodel the already painted walkway from March. While the original design had colored lines similar to regular crosswalks, the new ones will have solid colors laterally crossing the street. The city...

Public College Drops Math Requirement, May Replace It With Diversity Photo of Blake Neff BLAKE NEFF Reporter 10:21 PM 06/14/2016 924 924 Share Math [ImageFlow/Shutterstock] Math [ImageFlow/Shutterstock] A public university in Michigan has announced it’s deleting a requirement that all students complete at least one math course before graduating. At the same time, the school is seriously considering a new requirement that would compel students to complete four courses that promote diversity. Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit is one of the largest schools in Michigan, with some 27,000 students. Until now, all of them had to either take one...

However great the shock of the massacre in Orlando, it is only a matter of time before we start hearing again the fact-free dogma that "diversity is our strength." If there is any place in the Guinness Book of World Records for words repeated the most often, over the most years, without one speck of evidence, "diversity" should be a prime candidate. Is diversity our strength? Or anybody's strength, anywhere in the world? Does Japan's homogeneous population cause the Japanese to suffer? Have the Balkans been blessed by their heterogeneity — or does the very word "Balkanization" remind us of...

Hispanics make up 39 percent of the new cadet class, in a department that is 27 percent Hispanic, while Asian and Pacific Islanders make up 21.9 percent of the new cadets, or triple the percentage of current officers of that ethnicity. The percentage of black cadets is 16.4 percent, slightly above department demographics, despite efforts by Mayor Bill de Blasio to increase the force’s African-American makeup to 23 percent from the current level of 15 percent. The percentage of whites is 19.8 percent, with the force at 50 percent.

Officials said black and Hispanic students comprise 68 percent of city school students but only make up 11 percent of specialized high school enrollment.

The Obama administration seems to live in a parallel reality, oblivious to the racial animus that has become the hallmark of late-stage Obama and to the ethnic strife that wreaks havoc on the rest of the world. Inside its own Platonic cave, the thinking is: Over half the world is polyglot, so why not us? Its latest policy statement, issued jointly late last week by the departments of Education and Health and Human Services, advises states to instruct early childhood students in home languages different from English, and to help them retain separate cultural attachments. The administration warns that “not...

A Somali Muslim has been found guilty of trying to behead a man in London. The attempted murder took place in December last year. Muhiddin Mire -- a 30 year old Brit from Somalia -- attacked a 56-year-old musician Lyle Zimmerman after he walked out of the metro. The incident was filmed on security camera's and a mobile phone from another traveler who continued filming the incident even after Mire swung his blade at him. [VIDEO] While attacking Zimmerman, Mire shouted "this is for Syria," after which he tried to cut off his victim's head. He only failed in this...

The history of nations is mostly characterized by ethnic and racial uniformity, not diversity. Most national boundaries reflected linguistic, religious and ethnic homogeneity. Until the late 20th century, diversity was considered a liability, not a strength.

Two undercover police officers at a Donald Trump rally last week said they saw Trump supporters "get punched, kicked and pushed" and "running for their lives," according to a police report. The plainclothes officers said they did not intervene for fear their own safety would be jeopardized as the estimated 400 protesters developed a "mob mentality." The officers' observations were included in the arrest report of Antonio Moses Fernandez, 19, of San Jose, who is accused of throwing a metal barrier into a police skirmish line following the Trump rally June 2 outside the San Jose Convention Center. Fernandez made...

After some grandstanding to placate outraged constituents, establishment Republicans in Congress quietly voted to fund Obama's unconstitutional plan to fundamentally transform your neighborhood by bringing in more federally funded “diversity.” In short, if Big Brother's race-obsessed data-gathering machine determines that there are not enough poor or minority residents on welfare living in your city, town, zip code, or neighborhood, Obama wants to change that using your tax dollars. The scheme also sidelines states and borders by considering “regions” instead, a key element of the agenda to break down the traditional United States and its federalist system of government. But the...
