30 Asian students are South Philadelphia High School are refusing to return to the classroom after they were assaulted by a group of Black students no more than one week ago. Some of the students involved in the attack have faced the wrath of America's school system and have since been sent to public institutions that specialize in alternative educational methods, yet, that is not enough for these teens. More than 50 students are actively protesting the Philadelphia school district by boycotting all classes and social events hosted by the educational system, a move made because they felt that their...

Several dozen Asian students say they don't feel safe at South Philadelphia High School, after several fights here last week where Asian students said they were targeted by African-American students. Senior Duong Ly (right) says the racial tensions at his school are real: "Even if the Asian students and the African-American students study together, they still don't like us. Because why? Because we are Asian." Senior Amina Velasquez saw the fights: "They just were jumping people who were Asian. And it was really horrible because a girl who was close to everyone, they just turned on her and jumped her."...

Political correctness rearing its ugly head AGAIN? Our good friend Andy McCarthy reveals the shenanigans at Fort Hood continue in the name of what, political correctness, sensitivity? Just weeks after an Islamic terrorist guns down 13 people, 12 soldiers, it’s the US Army that’s getting the lecture on political correctness? It’s been brought to my attention by several reliable sources that the Defense Department has brought Louay Safi to Fort Hood as an instructor, and that he has been lecturing on Islam to our troops in Fort Hood who are about to deploy to Afghanistan. Safi is a top official...

I was going over diversity guidelines with a new hire at my company, trying to explain the hierarchy of different groups according to the best of my understanding. It seemed easy at first, generic white woman trumps generic white man, generic black woman trumps generic white woman, etc. Then she asked me “what’s higher on the scale? A wise latina woman, or an angry Muslim Man?” I wasn’t certain so I replied “I’m pretty sure it’s the wise latina woman, but be sure not to let the angry Muslim man know or he’ll be even angrier yet”. After our meeting...

Women now hold 26 percent of the ladder-faculty positions (professor, associate professor, assistant professor) at the University—395 positions out of 1,507—and minorities 17 percent—258 positions—according to the 2009 annual report of the Office of Faculty Development and Diversity (FD&D), published today. The report and accompanying exhibits are posted at the FD&D website. According to the report, the number of ladder faculty members rose by 96 (7 percent) during the past six years; senior appointments rose from 888 to 997, and the junior-faculty census declined from 523 to 510. Two-thirds of Harvard’s ladder faculty members are full professors, and just one-third...

Eight years after the U.S. Coast Guard and the NAACP signed a voluntary agreement to work together to boost the number of African-Americans at its 1,000-cadet service academy, the annual enrollment and graduation figures for blacks remain in single digits. ... Under a House bill, sponsored by Oberstar and Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the Coast Guard subcommittee chairman, members of Congress would nominate candidates for the academy. ... On a 385-11 vote last month, the House advanced the legislation to the Senate. The Coast Guard Academy historically has taken pride in viewing itself merit-based and choosing its applicants without regard...

Hilda Fourie Pretoria - The caretaker and gardener of a smallholding at Boschkop, east of Pretoria, have been found tied up and murdered. The bodies of Martin "Tienie" Jacobs, 65, and his gardener were found under boxes and pillows on Wednesday morning, about 12 to 18 hours after their deaths. Jacobs and his gardener, whose identity and age have not yet been determined, were both presumably strangled. Jacobs was found with a wire around his neck, tied to a trailer. "I don't understand why they had to tie up an old man like a dog," said his brother William, 60,...

... recent study, "Minorities in Tax 2010," conducted by TaxDiversity, a web site dedicated solely to issues of diversity in the accounting profession. Although some noticeable progress has been made between 2002 and 2008, "the accounting profession has made very limited strides in both attracting and advancing minorities within the field," the study finds. Among the study's key findings: * Overall, white people are exiting the tax profession at a faster rate than many other professions. * Even though the number of Blacks in the public accounting profession has increased by 25 percent between 2002 and 2008, they still only...

UP to a million Hindu devotees have gathered in a village in Nepal to witness the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of animals in a mass sacrifice that has drawn widespread criticism. Worshippers travelled long distances, many coming from India, to attend the two-day Gadhimai festival, which honours the Hindu goddess of power and takes place once every five years in southern Nepal. A huge cry of "Long Live Gadhimai!" went up after the village temple's head priest launched the event with the ritual sacrifice of two wild rats, two pigeons, a rooster, a lamb and a pig. The crowd...

Peter DeQuattro, a 25-year-old cook, exited the Mall Ride at Civic Center Station around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, after his shift at a Lower Downtown bar. His next recollection was writhing on a gurney in the back of an ambulance, an eye swollen shut and adrenaline pumping as EMTs struggled to restrain him. DeQuattro, who is white, was one of the most recent men targeted in a downtown-centered spree of attacks where small groups of black men and youths — many with admitted gang ties — tried to knock out white or Latino men with whacks to the head....

A Peruvian gang that allegedly killed people and drained fat from their corpses for use in cosmetics may have been inspired by a grisly Andean legend. Hilarió Cudeña Simon, the alleged ringleader, linked the crimes to tales of demonic assassins, known as Pishtacos, who purportedly waylaid victims in pre-Columbian times, police said. Peru reacted with revulsion and horror to reports that scores of peasants may have been butchered by the gang, which was said to have operated in Huánuco, a rural province dotted with Inca temples between the jungle and Andean peaks. The gang have been nicknamed the Pishtacos after...

Racial tensions are rising within the Rochester School District. The most recent incident took place this morning when a group of students erupted into a fight. School District Officials wouldn't talk to us on camera, but did issue a statement. They say they are continuing to gather information about the fight, and that “student safety is their utmost concern.” We tried calling the diversity council today, but our calls were not returned. This latest fight comes less than a week after a racially inspired altercation broke out at Owatonna High School. Students say it was between 20 Somali students and...

In a shocking reversal, the United Nations has come out against New World Order dogma about diversity and global warming. It has concluded that the best countries for human development are racially homogenous, as long as the dominant race is white or Asian. And if that's not enough political incorrectness, the top country in human development in the U.N.'s eyes has funded its rich social spending with -- gasp! -- offshore oil production. Well, admittedly, the U.N. didn't state its conclusion that directly, and the mainstream media didn't report it that directly; but anyone with a grain of intelligence and...

None of the victims have reported any of the attacks. St. Paul police is urging victims to step forward, if they recognize themselves in the video. The video, posted by YouTube user "madbi001," has since been removed from the website and the account has been closed. ‘You see, Pinocchio,” said the Blue Fairy, “a lie keeps growing and growing until it’s as plain as the nose on your face.” Sadly, this simple lesson, once taught only to small children, must be taught again to “grown-ups” who have conditioned our culture, our politicians and even our armed forces to deny and ignore the grave threats we face. But today the lies are called “political correctness,” and the consequences can be death. Far more dangerous than Maj. Nidal Hasan’s heinous act at Fort Hood is our collective refusal to see it for what it is: a terrorist act...

Nov. 18 (UPI) -- According to the Sept. 18 report from the U.S. Army Diversity Office (yes, there is one) titled "Military Leadership Diversity Commission," diversity is defined as "the different attributes, experiences and backgrounds of our Soldiers, Civilians and Family members that further enhance our global capabilities and contribute to an adaptive, culturally astute Army." Those are wonderful words with which we can all immediately agree. Unfortunately, the remainder of the report regresses to the standard affirmative action success criterion comparing the percentages, according to rank, of the selected racial or ethnic groups, "API, Black, AI/NA, White, Hispanic" i.e....

Most reasonable people have now recognized that Major Nidal Malik Hasan's actions in the Fort Hood massacre were not caused by pre-post-traumatic stress, by bullying, or by mental troubles, but were in accordance with his religious beliefs. Yet too many commentators resorted to the inadequate terms of political correctness to try and explain the event. What gives PC its pervasiveness, persistence, and power to influence behavior? The influence of politically correct ideology was demonstrated by the senior Army General and Army Chief of Staff George Casey, when he stated that "as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes...

The recruiting effort took place between September 2007 and December 2008, according to the charges.

Shortly after 9/11, there was a lot of talk about how no one would ever hijack an American airliner ever again – not because of new security arrangements but because an alert citizenry was on the case: We were hip to their jive. The point appeared to be proved three months later on a US-bound Air France flight. The “Shoebomber” attempted to light his footwear, and the flight attendants and passengers pounced. As the more boorish commentators could not resist pointing out, even the French guys walloped him. But the years go by, and the mood shifts. You didn’t have...

It started out as a mild virus initiated by the left of center intellectuals of academia. But, like every virus from computer carried to influenza, it spread rapidly through schools, hospitals, civil service, the media, companies, governance and the armed forces. Political correctness has poisoned all of America. The famed author of children’s books, Anthony Browne has also written a telling examination of political correctness in The Retreat of Reason. Says Browne, “Political correctness is the ‘heresy of liberalism’ under which reliance on reason has been replaced on the emotional appeal of an argument. Adopting certain positions makes the politically...

Even as America comes to the grips with the terrorist attack that took place at Fort Hood, it seem that Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s unindicted co-conspirator, “political correctness,” has yet again claimed the lives of innocent Americans. It seems that Hasan’s Superiors were well aware of his fascination with radical Islam as junior officers grew more concerned with his attitude and radical ramblings, yet rather than confront or investigate Major Hasan, his superior at Walter Reed took the political correct or chicken-shit way out and simply transferred this disgruntled officer to another command to be someone else’s problem. Those superiors,...

What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here." Those words were spoken not by some diversity guru but by the Army Chief of Staff, Gen. George Casey, on ABC last week in the aftermath of the slaughter of 13 people at the hands of a fellow officer. Nor were they isolated comments open to misinterpretation. Casey repeated them, in virtually identical form, in interviews with NBC and CNN. Casey's remarks should lead to his immediate firing. But, of course, that won't happen because...

Three heads of the same body all bent on the same outcome. The dismantling of America as we know it. Liberal Politicians, Liberal media and Muslim terrorists all have the same goal in mind if not by different methods. They are all helping each other indirectly as can be seen with the Fort Hood troop massacre. Political correctness is aiding and abetting terrorism. Both liberal politicians and the media practice P.C. to the max.....So max that it gets 13 of our own soldiers killed in a place far away from any war zone. This is a discrace to America!

Though it’s been moving in this direction for quite some time, political correctness has finally gone from a cute liberal idea meant not to offend anyone to become a dangerous idea that threatens the lives of American soldiers and citizens... He was known to be an admirer of Anwar al-Awlaki, an imam with various ties to al-Qaeda and someone found on a number of United States and United...

Few words have been more popular in recent years than "diversity." And few concepts have been more destructive. Destructive of our social fabric, destructive of our moral well-being, destructive of our ability to make judgments. In schools, non-profits and government programs across the nation, diversity has been held up as a great and noble prize. Some objective to be fought for and given prominence. It has become the top priority in institutions from colleges to corporations. And it has become a philosphy handed down like the word of god from the pulpits of education, business and government. And yet it...

In the wake of the Fort Hood jihad massacre, Muslim leaders in this country are preparing a fatwa on the permissibility of serving in the U.S. military. It is likely to differ from this one, but the answers from this site are on the whole more respected than anything that comes from Muslims in the West. Islam-QA is a very popular site for Muslims to get answers to questions they have, and the late Muhammad Uthaymeen is very respected as well -- even in the West. "Military service in kaafir armies and working as a "chaplain" in those armies," from...

As we and the Manchester Union-Leader noted earlier, the Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hasan, escaped any preventive action because of a politically-correct obsession with "diversity," which made officers reluctant to report Hasan's extremist remarks in favor of terrorism and against non-Muslims, lest they be accused of discrimination or insensitivity. Some military leaders, catering to liberal Congressional leaders and the Obama Administration, continue to cling tightly to the "diversity" dogma, demanding that those in the military keep silent rather than saying things that might call into question their "diversity" obsession:"Naval Academy senior commanders decided during the World Series to remove two Midshipmen from the color guard that appeared. There's nothing more offensive to the memory of those who die while serving our country than using them as props for a nonassociated political cause. Yet that is precisely what both the Army and our president have done repeatedly since the terrorist massacre of 13 American troops at Fort Hood. First, the Army. On Sunday, Nov. 8, the U.S. Army's top general, George Casey, appeared on "Meet the Press" to discuss the killing spree by radical Muslim and al-Qaida sympathizer Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. Casey did not use the program as an opportunity to come clean about the Army's role...

I am missing something here. After the attack and murder of 13 innocent people by an apparent imbedded radical Jihadist in the US Army, General Casey said on Meet The Press, "Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse." I have some questions for any military officer who swore an oath on several occasions to support and defend the Constitution. How many innocent Americans have to be murdered by someone who displayed every single modus operandi of...

How deep does the culture of political correctness run in the military and the service academies? We're getting some idea in the case of Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The Hasan story has rightly overwhelmed the news. Evidence of the red flags preceding his murder spree continues to accumulate and enrage. One inevitably sees in the disregarded red flags a case of political correctness run amok. The story of the Naval Academy's insufficiently colorful color guard has not quite broken out yet, and perhaps it won't, but it provides additional context to the case of Nidal Hasan. It appears that Naval...

You have worked long and hard to reach a high profile position, as those who came before you had. You did everything that was asked of you, and more. You believed in a system that told you all you had to do was work hard, pay attention to detail, excel in your efforts, show exceptional dedication, and demonstrate professionalism better than those around you. You also knew that the system was a meritocracy based on fair, established rules that everyone agreed upon. Why wouldn't you believe that? Those in positions of authority, those whose word was gold, those who asked...

Some ironies are more than cruel. On the day that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan approached Fort Hood armed with two handguns, he may have passed a newsstand selling copies of the November 9 edition of Army Times. On the front page was a photograph of a Sikh soldier wearing a beard, mustache, and turban with his uniform, accompanied by the headline, “Regs Make Way for Religion — Sikh, Muslim Allowed to Incorporate Customs into Army Dress.” Maj. Gen. Gina S. Farrisee, acting deputy chief of staff for Army personnel at the Pentagon, had granted a “religious accommodation” exception for Capt....

Backlash fever is sweeping the nation: thirteen Americans are dead and thirty-eight wounded in a jihad attack at Fort Hood, and our government’s primary concern -- from the Chief of Staff of the Army to the Islamic pressure groups such as CAIR -- are focused entirely on ensuring that Muslims in the United States are not being victimized by a “backlash.” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declared: “We object to, and do not believe, that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this. This was an individual who does not represent the Muslim faith.” She said that DHS was taking steps to...

Blind Diversity Equals DeathMichelle Malkin Wednesday, November 11, 2009 The violence at Fort Hood, President Obama told mourners on Tuesday, was "incomprehensible." The "twisted logic that led to the tragedy," he reiterated, may be "too hard to comprehend." If the Bush administration suffered a systemic failure of imagination on homeland security, the Obama administration is suffering a willful failure of comprehension. What exactly is so hard to comprehend? Fort Hood jihadist Maj. Nidal Hasan made his means, motives and inspiration all too clear for those willing to see and hear. In his 2007 slide presentation to fellow Army doctors on...

Leaders of the U.S. Naval Academy tinkered with the composition of the color guard that appeared at a World Series game last month so the group would not be exclusively white and male. Accounts differ as to who was added to or removed from the Oct. 29 color guard. But the net result was that one of the six who marched on Yankee Stadium's field, Midshipman 2nd Class Hannah Allaire, was selected because her presence would make the service academy look more diverse before a national audience.
