Farrakhan tweets video calling Jews 'termites' Harvard Law professor and longtime Democrat Alan Dershowitz blasted Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan Thursday, calling on "all decent people" to condemn him after his most recent anti-Semitic comments. At an event in Detroit, Farrakhan pushed back on those who say he's anti-Semitic by labeling Jews as "termites." "So when they talk about Farrakhan, call me a hater, you know what they do, call me an anti-Semite, stop it. I’m anti-termite. I don’t know nothing about hating somebody because of their religious preference," he said.

The responsive laughter makes my skin crawl,” Clinton said on Twitter. Chelsea Clinton called Louis Farrakhan’s antisemitism “dangerous” and said laughter in response to it “made my skin crawl.” Clinton, the daughter of former president Bill Clinton and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, was reacting on Twitter to a Farrakhan tweet in which the leader of the Nation of Islam said “I’m not an anti-Semite. I’m anti-termite.” “Comparing Jews to termites is anti-Semitic, wrong and dangerous,” Clinton tweeted Wednesday, quoting Farrakhan. I like to watch this Invisible People series on You Tube. A lot of very neat people on the streets with some amazing stories. Just saw this one today. I was watching and thinking what a cool, smart guy he is. Towards the ending he tells the interviewer he is a Trump supporter so I thought I would share with FR, but I was impressed with him anyway even before he said he was a supporter. I hope he can get his health back fully and get off the streets. This video was made back in April so not sure...

A Wayne County Commissioner on Tuesday unveiled a plan for new limits, taxes, mental screening and background checks on the sale of ammunition. District 6 Commissioner Reggie “Reg” Davis, a radio host who entered politics after his brother was fatally shot, announced the multi-pronged proposal at a press conference held at his family’s mausoleum space. In addition to calling on more controls nationally, the measure would mandate local regulations that would include a mental illness and background check certified by law enforcement prior to each bullet sale — with police handling the transfer. “We’re up against some state and federal...

My wife is a big Tigers fan so I watch a lot of Tigers games. As such, I’m quite familiar with the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast crew of play-by-play man Mario Impemba and color commentator Rod Allen. They’ve been together for years. I think Impemba is one of the better play-by-play guys around and, while not everyone’s cup of tea, Allen — who is, frankly, kinda weird sometimes — sort of grows on you over time. Tigers fans have even developed a drinking game for when he’s on the air that is fun, albeit dangerous for your liver. My favorite...

A fiery, old-school eulogist at the funeral of Aretha Franklin fell flat for many in the crowd and prompted a social media uproar when he declared "black America has lost its soul," black women are incapable of raising sons alone and the Black Lives Matter movement is unfounded in the face of black-on-black crime. And that was just 26 minutes into the nearly 50 minutes of words provided by the Rev. Jasper Williams Jr. of Salem Baptist Church in Atlanta as Franklin's marathon funeral wound down Friday. Williams, who also eulogized Franklin's father, minister and civil rights activist C.L. Franklin,...

A large part of Aretha FranklinÂ’s legacy was a testament to the power of artistic activism and those closest to her made sure that message was crystal clear during her extraordinary homegoing service. Among the many family members, dignitaries, friends and fellow entertainers who took to the pulpit podium during the service at the Greater Grace Temple in FranklinÂ’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan was none other than renowned professor, author and motivational speaker, Michael Eric Dyson. While DysonÂ’s words in their entirety served as a perfect tribute to the fiery spirit of the beloved entertainer, it was his pointed response...
