The campaign to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom has collected 1,950,000 signatures, Katy Grimes of the California Globe reports, far more than the 1.4 million signatures needed to qualify the recall for the ballot. A full 1.6 million signatures were collected entirely by volunteers, and according to organizer Orrin Heatlie, 31.5 percent of the signers were “other than Republicans.” As the recall effort surges, Democrats turn up the volume against it. “Right-wing Republicans in CA are trying to recall Gavin Newsom for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID,” tweeted Sen....

Wynn Resorts Ltd. WYNN 0.45% added three women to its board as the company continues to manage the fallout from sexual-misconduct allegations against former Chief Executive Steve Wynn. Disclosed on Wednesday, the move came a day after the casino operator’s largest shareholder, Mr. Wynn’s ex-wife Elaine Wynn, demanded the board overhaul its membership to comprise mostly new directors. The new independent directors are Betsy Atkins, Dee Dee Myers and Wendy Webb, bringing the board’s current composition to four women and seven men. The company said the board approved the new directors at a meeting in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

    Washington Post ^ | March 14, 1994 | Ann Devroy
White House officials now say that more than 100 staff members -- at least one of them with routine access to classified material -- have failed to obtain government security clearances, mostly because of "procrastination." White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers is among what she said are about 10 percent of the 1,044 White House staff members who have not completed the FBI clearance process that produces the first level of clearance for access to classified material. Myers said she has routine access to secret material.

I would reach out to Obama supporters. Let me nominate Jamal Simmons. He's young (to me) Af-Am and way smart. He worked in the Clinton White House and now does commentary with me on CNN. Other prominent African-Americans should be courted, like Donna Brazile. How 'bout Dee Dee Myers? Not African-American, but rumored to be a woman. Knows the media as well as anyone....
  • Probe eyes any Petraeus staff role in Broadwell obtaining sensitive documents

A federal investigation of how David H. Petraeus’s biographer obtained numerous classified records is focusing on whether the retired general’s staff gave her sensitive documents at his instruction, according to federal officials familiar with the inquiry. Petraeus and Broadwell have told FBI investigators that Petraeus did not provide her with classified information, law enforcement officials said. Attorneys for the two declined to respond to specific questions for this article, as did Broadwell’s spokeswoman, Dee Dee Myers of the Glover Park Group.

Dee Dee Myers, former press secretary to President Bill Clinton, goes on Meet the Press and calls Newt Gingrich a political "sociopath." Does moderator David Gregory call her out? Nope. To the contrary, Gregory proceeds to play a clip of convicted felon Jack Abramoff accusing Newt of "corruption." View the video here.

Has the Dem infighting for 2012 begun? Is Hillary exploiting Pres. Obama's waffling over Afghanistan to launch an offensive against her ostensible boss? The question arises after former senior Clinton aide Dee Dee Myers, on this evening's Hardball, described PBO as looking "indecisive" and "pushed around" in his handling of Afghanistan, and Hillary herself laid down a heavy marker, describing in graphic terms the dangers of an al Qaeda resurgence were the Taliban permitted to succeed. • Myers: Hillary 'Hasn't Always Succeeded' in Not Being a B----

The worm has certainly turned when Bill Clinton's former press secretary goes on a local TV show and in so many words calls Hillary a b---- . . . and a national news show then chooses to air the footage. It happened on today's Good Morning America in the course of a conversation that co-anchor Robin Roberts conducted with Cokie Roberts and Matt Dowd. ROBIN ROBERTS: Many are wondering how far she can go in attacking Barack Obama. Even President Clinton's former press secretary Dee Dee Myers made a comment about it being harder for a woman to walk that...

In the unlikely event John Edwards is elected the next president of the United States, don't look for Dee Dee Myers twirling on the dance floor with him at the Inaugural Ball. Appearing on this morning's "Today," the former Clinton press secretary took some serious shots at the former senator from North Carolina. At about 7:08 am EDT this morning, Meredith Vieira did a tour of the presidential horizon with Myers and conservative commentator and radio talk show host Laura Ingraham. Talk turned to Edwards, and Vieira framed the issue in a manner not particularly flattering to the ex-trial lawyer....

  • Today Show's Baloney Balance: Bills Buchanan as 'Republican'

by Mark Finkelstein March 24, 2006 Have a look at the legend beneath the photo below of Pat Buchanan. 'Republican' strategist? Really? Buchanan quit the Republican party in 1999 to run for president as the candidate of the Reform Party. Go to Buchanan's official web site, The American Cause. The creed advanced there is Pat's particular brew of protectionism and conservatism, with nary a reference to the Republican party. So why, might you ask, would NBC engage in such false packaging? The answer is obvious: to gull viewers into thinking that it is presenting a fair balance of opinions. This...

by Mark Finkelstein November 4, 2005 - 08:19. In constructing a balanced panel to discuss a president's fortunes, one does not normally select one person who opposes him and. . . another person who opposes him and ran against him in a general election. But that was the Today's show notion of 'fair & balanced' this morning. In to discuss W's drooping poll numbers were former Clinton spokesperson Dee Dee Myers and Patrick Buchanan. In introducing Buchanan, Couric highlighted his GOP credentials. But while mentioning he had been an aide in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan White Houses, Katie conveniently...

  • O'Reilly claimed Clinton library gives Senator Clinton "access to money"

FOX News Channel host Bill O'Reilly claimed that former President Bill Clinton's newly opened presidential library gives Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) "access to money because Bill Clinton's got a checkbook that he can write anything off against that library he wants." O'Reilly predicted Bill Clinton would use library staff and funds to further his wife's alleged presidential ambitions. In fact, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), a federal agency, took over the Clinton Presidential Center, including its management and funding, on the day the library opened. NARA administers all ten presidential libraries. On the November 18 edition of...
  • Clinton Legacy Poll: It's All About Sex

"It's only about sex." That was the mantra of the Democrats and their big-media stooges during the Clinton impeachment trial. "Yes, he lied under oath, but it was all about sex," they intoned. Now, in an ironic twist, a new poll reveals that most people think the Clinton years were indeed all about sex. Fifty-three percent of those responding to the Polling Company survey said that the Lewinsky affair is what they will remember most about the Clinton years. Only 11 percent will remember Clinton as a good president. While his impeachment is conspicuous by its near absence in the...

It's beginning to look as if the New York Times can't help being naughty – it's somehow become part of its nature to commit outrageous offenses against fairness, decency and balance. This time it's a shameful conflict of interest caught by the New York Post: A book review trashing Nigel Hamilton's "Bill Clinton, An American Journey; Great Expectations" written by one Todd S. Purdom, whom the Times doesn't bother to tell its readers is the husband of Bill Clinton's onetime adoring press secretary Dee Dee Myers. The Post's must-read Page Six quotes one observer as noting: "It is the equivalent...
