Debbie Wasserman Schultz's Popularity Takes a NosediveBy: Nancy Smith | Posted: September 14, 2012 3:55 AM **SNIP** Problems for the DNC chair began the week of the Republican National Convention in Tampa. In a fundraising letter Wasserman Schultz claimed that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney had directly intervened in the writing of the party’s platform on policies regarding abortion. The letter quotes its source as the Los Angeles Times, but as many media outlets and fact checkers have since pointed out, the supporting claims were misquoted and misrepresented in the article to which Wasserman Schultz was referring. “Do you at...

CHARLOTTE – Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz claimed on Monday that Israel’s ambassador to the United States has accused Republicans of being “dangerous” to Israel by criticizing President Obama’s record. The Florida congresswoman made the charge at a training session for Jewish Democrats held by the Obama campaign here at the Democratic National Convention, aimed at teaching Jewish Democrats how to convince their fellow Jews to vote for Obama. Much of the session, which featured a string of speakers from the Obama campaign, was devoted to defending Obama’s record on Israel.

On Friday, Starting Point host Soledad O’Brien sat down with DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to discuss Mitt Romney‘s RNC speech. O’Brien started things out by asking her guest what most worried her, as a Democrat, about the speech. (Snip) “Well, actually, what is deeply concerning to me is as an American is that Mitt Romney sort of had the audacity to not lay out any specifics at all,” she replied, “but gave us some very nice platitudes about how he would create jobs, 12 million of them, reduce the deficit,

National Hurricane Center has TS Debby moving west with a landfall in TX. Many think that is wrong. Keep a watch at NEXRAD, but for what it's worth, my best WAG is 50 kt winds, moving onshore north of Cedar Key, across state then, out into to Atlantic at Amelia Island. This will be a slow moving storm, so flooding from water accumulation could be a problem. Some areas north of Tampa Bay have already had 4-6 inches of rain. No guarantee, but worth a watch. Be safe

In a new forecast, the National Weather Service is predicting a continuing drought for the Midwest. The drought is being felt from eastern Nebraska through Iowa and Missouri and affects Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. As the drought continues, expectations of high yields are dropping. Could Tropical storm Debbie be on the verge of dampening these dire drought predictions? Maybe.

DNC Spinmeistress Debtie Wassername Shills DNC SpokesDuNCe Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been using weasel words to speak about the upcoming Wisconsin recall election. Wasserman Schultz (apparently her hyphen is broken) is in a Dem dilemma. On the one hand, Debbie's got to put on a happy face about their chances in Wisconsin and the glorious nationwide victory that that will portend for November. On the other hand, privately, Debbie knows the Democrats are losing Wisconsin and are in big trouble for November. So now when she has to speak about the significance of the Wisconsin recall election, Wasserman is trying...

DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was scheduled to give the keynote address at a fundraiser hosted by an American Muslim on the Federal Terrorist Watch List, is backing out. Called out by her Republican opponent Joe Kaufman, Wasserman Schultz’s spokesman issued a statement that “there was a miscommunication, she is not speaking to the organization … we never agreed to do a fundraiser, nor this event.” But, as usual, Wasserman Schultz is lying. You can see the flyer here. The event, which was to raise funds for EMERGE USA, is to be hosted by Khurrum Wahid, an attorney who...

If those interviews by DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, where she does nothing but spew talking points and condescending quips, annoy you, then you will likely jump for joy over what you’re about to hear. Doug McIntyre, a radio host at 790 KABC-RADIO in Los Angeles, interviewed the chairwoman on Monday about the DNC’s decision to name LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to head the party’s convention. As McIntyre notes, Villaraigosa has his critics in Southern California (“Los Angeles can’t even pave the sidewalks”), and McIntryre was floored that he was chosen. Considering that, he did the opposite of a fluff...

In an at-times heated interview, Fox and Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson grilled Democratic Nation Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz over high gas prices, and played video of her criticizing President Bush over the same problem. “So I think you felt the President could have done something about lowering the gas prices,” Carlson pressed. “What do you say now that gas prices are going to reach $5 a gallon under President Obama?” “What I was referring to in that speech, as I have for many years, is that focusing on fossil fuels and continuing the ‘drill baby drill’ strategy that President...

President Barack Obama's re-election team has added a campaign office in Ohio, choosing this large southwest suburb as its second outpost in Greater Cleveland. Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, was scheduled to join local Obama supporters this evening for a grand opening event. Also scheduled to speak were Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter and U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton, a Copley Township Democrat facing a tough battle against Republican Rep. Jim Renacci in a redrawn district. The Ridge Road office joins Obama for America field offices in Shaker Heights, Columbus, Middletown, Dayton and Chillicothe.

The rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Moochers, looters and destroyers. DNC Chair’s parents off to jail for corruption Political Arena Of all of the most vile, bold face, shameless liars in politics, no one tops acting DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz. We have videos of her and youtube is rife with them; bloggers have sliced and diced her lies with verifiable sources from one end of the country to the other. Like Mother like daughter? They just couldn’t help themselves. This weekend’s one-year anniversary of the Tucson massacre passed quietly and respectfully. And then femme-a-gogue Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to open her big mouth: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., speaking in New Hampshire this morning, reminded her audience of the tragic Tucson shooting last year — and also insinuated that the Tea Party, which she said regards political opponents as “the enemy,” has enhanced divisiveness in Congress and had something to do with the shooting, at least indirectly. “We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson...

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is heckled by an Iowa State Fair attendee about her support for cutting Medicare to seniors and supporting the Wall Street agenda. She dismisses his points by saying he's an example of the division in this country even though it seems like he's actually arguing for points that liberals and progressives believe in.

On Face the Nation, Norah O'Donnell asked DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (a congresswoman from Florida) about her recent claim that the nation's economic situation has gotten better since President Obama took office. After all, O'Donnell pointed out, unemployment is up about 25 percent since January 2009, and 13.5 million more people are on food stamps since then. Predictably, Wasserman Schultz replied that it's all Bush's fault: "President Obama inherited a huge problem -- the worst recession that we've had since the Great Depression, created by the failed policies of the previous Republican administration,

Karen Harrington’s done this before, but this time, she’s hoping for a different result. The South Floridian was the Republican challenger in 2010 to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is also the chair of the Democratic National Committee. Harrington scored 40 percent of the vote in the midterm elections, and just a littler over four months later, she declared her intent to challenge Wasserman Schultz for a second time. This time around, Harrington is trying to launch a statewide movement to oust who many consider a rising star in the Democrat Party. But in a conference call with reporters earlier...

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chair of the Democratic National Committee, said Wednesday that House Republicans are trying to impose “dictatorship” through their tactics in the debt-ceiling negotiations. She said the GOP rhetoric could “spark panic and chaos,” which she called “potentially devastating” to the economy. The chair telephoned POLITICO to express “significant disappointment in where … Republicans have allowed this debate to degenerate.” “Aren’t we at the point where the closer we get to chaos, the more concern that there should be about coming to the table and compromising with Democrats?” Wasserman Schultz asked. “This is not leadership. This...
