    townhall.com ^ | 4/28/2016 | Larry Elder
ESPN fired baseball analyst and former All-Star Curt Schilling for mocking the debate about the North Carolina public facilities law. On his Facebook page, Schilling posted a meme (a graphic) with the picture of an aged and overweight man dressed in just enough women's clothing to prevent flagrant violation of public exposure laws. The photo caption read: "Let him in to the restroom with your daughter or else you're a narrow-minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!" Under the meme, Schilling wrote: "A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don't care what they...

Have you ever been deceived by a “confidence” artist, plying their trade? No? Think again. We’ve all been victimized, whether we know it or not. It’s called the “Climate Hustle” and scientists, politicians, educators, entertainers, business people, and even the president are willing perpetrators in the greatest con job in our lifetime. On Monday, May 2, 2016, during a one-night nationwide theatrical engagement, see for yourself the unmasking of this fraud in a powerful documentary, “Climate Hustle” that demolishes the climate change agenda. This could be the most important movie of the year. Here’s why: President Obama claimed at the...

... [O]fficials now warn that, even with special courses and attention, many of those staying will lack suitable labor skills — a shift from initial buoyant predictions from industry, which needs workers. Most of the migrants come from countries where schooling lasts years less than in Germany, said Karl Brenke, a labor and migration expert at the German Institute for Economic Research. Qualifications are difficult to compare. Already, there are 14 people competing for a basic unskilled job, Mr. Brenke said. He provided figures showing that the number of employable people who are jobless and living on welfare had swelled...
  • Moving Forward=> DONALD TRUMP Only Needs 43% of Remaining Delegates to Win Nomination

After sweeping all five primaries that occurred Tuesday – Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania – Donald Trump has 987 delegates, Cruz has 562 with 622 remaining. Ted Cruz was mathematically eliminated on Tuesday night. There are fewer delegates remaining than we originally projected because the delegates in Wyoming, Colorado and North Dakota were allocated in corrupt voter-less elections. But our April 2nd projections for Trump and Cruz were very, very close. Trump was awarded another 40 Pennsylvania delegates on Wednesday which brings his total to 987. Donald Trump only needs 250 more delegates to secure the Republican nomination.

Yale University announced Wednesday it will keep the name of a residential college named after 19-th century alumnus and slavery supporter John C. Calhoun, but will eliminate the title of “master” for faculty members. The Ivy League university said it was preserving the name of Calhoun College, despite fierce protests that called for the removal of Calhoun’s name to confront the history of slavery in the U.S.

The film takes place during the former president's second term as he begins to suffer from dementia, at which point an intern is tasked with convincing Reagan he's an actor portraying the president in a film.

Donald Trump will likely wind up winning the most primary votes of any GOP presidential candidate in modern history, the author of the influential Smart Politics blog told The Post on Wednesday. After convincing victories in Tuesday’s primaries in five East Coast states, Trump has roughly 10.1 million votes, about 200,000 more than Mitt Romney got during the entire 2012 primary campaign. And with the primaries ahead — including in populous states such as California, New Jersey and Indiana — the former “Apprentice” reality TV star should easily break the modern record of 10.8 million held by George W. Bush...

It’s been clear since Obama’s reelection that Hillary Clinton would run for the White House in 2016, and the speculation over her running mate has been going on almost as long. For instance, on this site in May 2014 I penned the piece “Kaine Is Able, and Warner Is Too,” suggesting that both Virginia senators, Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, would be strong VP candidates. It’s no surprise that both have now appeared on the New York Times short list. After considering the pros and cons of each person, I feel confident predicting that Clinton/Kaine will be the Democrats’ 2016...
  • High School Becomes First In PA To Adopt Transgender Bathroom Policy

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa (CBS) – Some people never give the signs on the bathrooms a second thought, but that’s not the case for transgender students like Evan Petersen, a junior at Springfield Township high school. “I definitely didn’t wanna use women’s bathroom, and I was scared to use the men’s bathroom because I wasn’t out at school yet,” said Peterson. “So I just didn’t go to the bathroom during the whole school day.” “It’s awful it’s a very bad feeling,” said Christine Settino a teacher. “That’s the kind of thing that makes you want to do something and make change.”...

Relatives of Corey Jones, the 31-year-old stranded motorists killed by a Palm Beach Gardens police officer last year, were cautiously hopeful Wednesday after meeting with Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg Wednesday on the heels of his announcement that prosecutors are bringing the case to a grand jury. Family members and their attorney, Benjamin Crump, are expected to address the public in an 8 a.m. press conference Thursday.

The rules of bigotry, according to the left, represent a constantly shifting kaleidoscope of nonsense. This week, we learned that if you don't want your small daughter sharing a restroom with a man who thinks he is a woman, you are a bigot; if you are a woman who is uncomfortable with a man who thinks he is a woman whipping out his male genitalia to urinate in front of you, you are a bigot; if you are a religious person who doesn't want to participate in an activity you consider sinful, you are a bigot. Conversely, if you are...

This month, Stanford University students voted on a campus resolution that would have their college require a course on Western civilization, as it did until the 1980s. Stanford students rejected the proposal 1,992 to 347. A columnist at the Stanford Daily explained why: Teaching Western civilization means "upholding white supremacy, capitalism and colonialism, and all other oppressive systems that flow from Western civilizations."
  • Significant Premium Hikes Expected Under Obama Health Law

Expect insurers to seek significant premium increases under President Barack Obama's health care law, in a wave of state-level requests rippling across the country ahead of the political conventions this summer. Insurers say the law's coverage has been a financial drain for many of them, and they're setting the stage for 2017 hikes that in some cases could reach well into the double digits. For example in Virginia, nine insurers returning to the HealthCare.gov marketplace are seeking average premium increases that range from 9.4 percent to 37.1 percent. The health law's nagging problems seem to center on lower-than-hoped-for enrollment, sicker-than-expected...
  • Austria Plans Fence to Stop Migrants at Border With Italy

Austria outlined plans Wednesday to erect a fence at a border crossing with Italy that is a vital link between northern and southern Europe, escalating a stand-off over how to handle a migration crisis. Migrants are crossing the Mediterranean Sea from Africa to Italy in growing numbers, and Austria has said Rome must stop them from traveling onward toward northern Europe or it will have to introduce border controls at the Brenner Pass in the Alps. But with Austrian preparations for controls already under way, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said Austria's move was "shamelessly against European rules, as well...

The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill naming the bison a "historical symbol," and moving it closer to being an official national symbol. The National Bison Legacy Act was passed in a bipartisan effort, and is expected to be passed in the Senate this week and signed by President Barack Obama. The legislation will move the animal that most Americans call buffalo, and was once near extinction in the late 1800s, into equal status with the bald eagle as a symbol of the country. "The bison will serve as a great national symbol for the United States as...
  • More guns and bigger arsenals than ever: Australia’s not out of range yet

AS Australia marks 20 years since the Port Arthur massacre, guns still pose a massive threat to our nation. There are more firearms in the country than ever before, more are imported, and owners are amassing larger arsenals in their homes. Gun policy expert Philip Alpers, Adjunct Associate Professor at Sydney School of Public Health, warned this morning that boasts Australia has “solved the gun problem” are premature. When John Howard introduced the National Firearms Act in 1996 after Martin Bryant’s devastating mass shooting, he swore we wouldn’t “go the American way”, and many believe he has been vindicated. “People...

I have a message for all the Trumpsters. Your behavior and antics in the past couple of months, and the antics of your "savior", The Donald, have made my decision about who to vote for, and who NOT to vote for in November easy. If your guy is the nominee for the Republican Party, he WILL lose in November, and YOU WILL OWN IT. Because I will NEVER vote for that statist socialist, parasitic, steaming pile of obama. Now, I've been told that JimRob is banning anyone who states publicly that they will not vote for trump. So be it....
