(B) Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging of an ultrathin section of an open particle after fusion of its internal lipid membrane with that of a phagosome. (C) Enlarged view of the viral tegument of a Mollivirus particle highlighting the layer made of a mesh of fibrils (black arrow), resembling Pandoraviruses’ intermediate layer, and the underneath internal membrane (white arrow). The fabled Bishopville swamp creature known as Lizard Man appears to have surfaced again Sunday afternoon. She says they were just a mile or so from Scape Ore Swamp, the site of a similar spotting of...

The man, who provided a full name but chose to remain anonymous, told Cryptozoology News that the encounters have been happening since 2009 in a remote area in the North Cascades. “Sometimes it is just 5 to 10 minutes, other times they stay for hours,” he said. “I leave them food and they visit,” he continued. From apples to carrots, to beef jerky, cookies and candy bars, the ex-law enforcement officer claims the creatures eat it all and leave him alone. The man says he was looking for an old mine in the mountains the first time he came across...

What's white and blind and hairy all over? A yeti, of course! Or, in this case, a yeti crab — a marine creature that lives near the thermal vents in the ocean floor where hot water gushes into the sea. There are three known species of yeti crabs, and now, in a new paper, scientists have described the characteristics of one of these species — Kiwa tyleri — for the first time. K. tyleri is the only species of yeti crab known to reside in the Southern Ocean, off Antarctica. Yeti Cra A close up of the male yeti crab...

PENGHU, Taiwan, - A man fishing in Taiwan captured video of a mysterious worm-like green sea creature crawling onto land and shared it online. Wei Cheng Jian posted video of the creature he encountered in a Penghu port on Facebook, where commenters theorized it could be a ribbon worm, or Nemertea. Ribbon worms have a proboscis that extends from their body while hunting, which could explain the green creature's long tongue-like appendage. The proboscis covers the ribbon worm's prey in a thick, poisonous mucus. The creatures usually live in the sea, but have been known to seek shelter in cool,...

A homicidal Bigfoot running wild in Western Pennsylvania stars in a locally made comedy/horror creature feature premiering this week. “Bigfoot: The Movie” is the brainchild of Ellwood City native Jared Show, who directed and produced the film. “It’s about three town locals and yinzers who are on the hunt for Bigfoot,” Mr. Show said. “A lot of these movies about Bigfoot are about people finding Bigfoot, or Bigfoot is their friend. Our Bigfoot’s not friendly at all. Our Bigfoot is mean, and it goes around killing people and eating cows.” “Bigfoot” was filmed in and around Ellwood City, with some...

An investigative author from New Mexico with a history of scientifically debunking the chupacabra myth says he can explain sightings of the mythical creature. "When you do DNA testing on these alleged chupacabras, they're known animals," Benjamin Radford, who authored the 2011 book "Tracking the Chupacabra," told New Mexico television station KOB. "They are coyotes or dogs. In some cases, they're raccoons. The hairlessness can be explained by a disease called sarcoptic mange, which is caused by skin mites." Animals with advanced mange often die when exposed to cold, but because of warmer temperatures brought on by climate change, those...
