You’re probably as eager as I am for new images of Pluto and Ceres as both New Horizons and Dawn push ever closer to their respective little worlds. Recent photos, of which there are only a few, reveal some wild new features including what appears to a large crater on Pluto. In the end, this apparent large impact might only be a contrast effect or worse, an artifact of over-processing, but there’s no denying its strong resemblance to foreshortened, shadow-filled craters seen on the Moon and other moons. A mystery object spotted on the surface of the moon has sent conspiracy theorists into overdrive. The bizarre wedge-shaped structure with rows of seven light-like dots along its edge appears on the lunar surface. It was discovered on the Google Moon viewer at coordinates 22042'38.46N and 142034'44.52E. Speculation has exploded over the images of the anomaly that UFO websites have likened to an alien lunar base or spaceship. SYDNEY: An Australian Aboriginal 'Dreaming' story has helped experts uncover a meteorite impact crater in the outback of the Northern Territory. Scientists are to sail to the mid-Atlantic to examine a massive "open wound" on the Earth's surface. Dr Chris MacLeod, from Cardiff University, said the Earth's crust appeared to be missing across an area of several thousand square kilometres.
