The United States Army has blocked the website of the Southern Baptist Convention from government computers, saying the Christian site contains "hostile content." An Army officer assigned to a U.S. base said he tried to access SBC.net from his government computer, but instead, he got a message that said the site was being blocked by "Team CONUS": Team CONUS protects the computer network of the Department of Defense. "So the Southern Baptist Convention is now considered hostile to the U.S. Army...it just corroborates the recent string of events highlighted by AFA," the officer wrote in an email to American Family...

(CNSNews.com) – Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said recently that--"especially after last term"--he does not know if he is confident the Constitution can be restored to its original meaning. He likened his own efforts to do so to the character "Frodo" in the Lord of the Rings, who fights the good fight not certain he will win. While discussing his new book Reading Law at Stanford University on Oct. 19, the Hoover Institution’s Peter Robinson quoted to Scalia a passage from Scalia's book, Reading Law: "Originalism does not always provide an easy answer, or even a clear one. Originalism is...

I suppose we’ll always have Chick-fil-A celebration days as a reminder of what might have been and what can get people motivated. But we are here now, the day after the election and we have to figure out what “forward” means to the conservative movement and by extension, to the idea of limited government. It should be clear. To preserve and restore this republic as it was founded we need a constitutional convention in which the states reassert their 10th amendment rights. I believe that there are enough Republican held legislatures to make this a viable option. This reassertion of...

U.S. President Barack Obama plans to usher in what he hopes will be a second four-year term in the White House at an election-night rally at a huge convention center near downtown Chicago, campaign and city officials said on Wednesday. The event will likely draw thousands of supporters to the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago, Obama's hometown and the site of his re-election campaign headquarters. Supporters are expected to watch the voting results come in and then hear a speech by the incumbent Democrat who faces Republican Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and private equity executive, in the...

Sandra Fluke’s America: War on women, by whom? by Daniel Clark At the three-day abortion festival also known as the Democratic National Convention, that party’s celebrity victim du jour, Sandra Fluke, echoed the famous “Robert Bork’s America” speech that was once given by that founding member of Neanderthals For Choice, Ted Kennedy. Fluke’s vision of a Republican-led American future was briefly stated, but nevertheless riddled with lies (“an America in which access to birth control is controlled by people who will never use it”), bigger lies (“in which politicians redefine rape so survivors are victimized all over again”), and dog-whistle...

Hispanics upset about DNC contractLocal Latino groups say a Hispanic state GOP leader shouldn’t have been vendor By Franco Ordoñez Modified: Thursday, Sep. 13, 2012 CHARLOTTE, N.C. Some Hispanic Democrats are angry that one of the few major contracts for minority businesses at the Democratic National Convention went to a Hispanic leader of North Carolina’s Republican Party. Convention organizers made a big effort to contract with minority-run businesses. But some Hispanics see contracting with the chairman of North Carolina’s Republican National Hispanic Assembly as anathema to the mission of the Democrats, especially considering the partisan differences on major issues such...

New International Version (©1984) "I tell you the truth, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." Democrats in denial of God - 3 times before the rooster crowed in the morning. God finally got put back in to their platform by simply ignoring the voice vote. Now that's the Democratic Way! http://www.youtube.com/embed/vEdLeWTopF8

WASHINGTON -- Nuts. The Democratic National Convention is over. Watching Bill Clinton, Jean-François Kerry, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and all the other preposterosities -- not least being the widely under-depreciated Sandra Fluck -- I fell under a spell. I thought the convention would go on forever. There would be no need for horror movies, action movies, X-Treme sports, cockfights, or soap operas. I could enjoy them all in the comfort of my own home. All provided by the Democratic National Committee, safely watched over by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and probably select units of the North Carolina National Guard. Yet...

Dear Friend, In this video commentary, I discuss how the presidential election shapes up post-conventions. Even though Obama got a bounce from his Convention, the two key questions that dominated the gathering will impose a construct on the election that Obama cannot escape. Tune in!

During their national convention, Democrats arrogantly flaunted U.S. immigration laws and blatantly ignored the majority of Americans' sentiments towards illegal immigration. The Democrats featured an illegal immigrant as a speaker on September 5: "...Activist Benita Veliz was given a prime-time speaking slot..." That's right, an illegal immigrant activist shilling for President Obama's DREAM Act (aka amnesty). But, "54% of likely [American] voters oppose the DREAM Act, compared to 38% who support its passage... U.S. registered voters support stricter enforcement of immigration law over 'integrating illegal immigrants into American society' 68% to 24%." Veliz spoke of the opportunities accorded her as...

Last week, Democrats feasted on the extreme positions of Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri during the Republican National Convention. Yet Democrats have gone too far in the other direction, threatening their hold on the great American middle. Abortion is a more delicate subject than our fierce, partisan arguments would have it.

His Agenda: President Obama's convention speech got rough reviews, and rightly so. He offered little but tired bromides and recycled promises. But critics overlooked one promise that will guarantee an even bleaker future. There was plenty to dislike in Obama's speech. The language was flat, his delivery languid. The speech was stuffed with standard Obama chestnuts about the smallness of politics, the corrupting influence of money in politics, and how cynicism is our worst enemy. [snip] But while everyone was picking apart these and other flaws in Obama's speech, they overlooked the most frightening line of all.

It began, like the Obama presidency itself, with the loftiest of hopes and the greatest of expectations.
