WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Rep. J. D. Hayworth, a Republican Congressman from Arizona, and seven co-sponsors have submitted a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would lower the amount of money the United States sends to the United Nations by more than $240 million per year. Hayworth's bill, H.R. 2303, would make the contribution by the U.S. to the U.N. equal to the largest contribution from any of the other four permanent, veto-wielding members of the U.N. Security Council. "Our veto power should cost no more than that of the other permanent members, China, France, Russia, or the...

Moon Griffon (pronouned GRIF FONN) just disclosed on his statewide radio hookup that Louisiana Governor Murphy J. "Mike" Foster and Secretary of State Fox McKeithen contributed, both elected Republicans, contributed to the 40th birthday celebration for State Senator Cleo Fields, a black Democrat who has run for Congress and governor. The celebration was held in November 2002, at the height of the Landrieu-Terrell U.S. Senate general election, in which Foster had been slow and seemingly hesitant to endorse Republican nominee Terrell. Foster gave $1,250 to the birthday bash of his former gubernatorial rival. McKeithen gave twice as much: $2,500. Griffon...

WASHINGTON -- The Socialist Workers Party, long allowed to keep its donors secret because of the danger of harassment, should continue to receive the special protection, Federal Election Commission lawyers say. The party asked the commission to extend its exemption from FEC reporting requirements that other political parties face, including identifying its contributors, the candidates it supports and the businesses it buys from. The exemption, given for six years at a time, was first granted by a court in 1979 and last renewed by the commission in 1996. The Socialist Workers Party advocates a Marxist revolution to overthrow the U.S....

The indictment accused Jimenez of funneling hundreds of thousands of illegal dollars into the re-election campaign coffers of President Clinton and Democratic Sens. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts and Robert Torricelli of New Jersey through 23 employee straw donors. Jimenez's fortune helped him gain access to the Clinton White House; he golfed with the president, socialized with the First Lady and even...

Apparently under the color of 'diversity appreciation', a full blown campaign - paid for by the local United Way - will include public transit posters printed in English and Arabic declaring "We Are Not The Enemy" featuring the faces of a turbaned male, a mid-eastern appearing woman and others. This waste of public contributions to United Way was given attention by Barbara Simpson on her KSFO Radio program, Saturday. Barbara has an extensive news reporting/gathering track record in both the television radio media profession. She is also a columnist for WorldNetDaily. To add insult to injury, it seems the posters...
