[history]
Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante received $1 million in two contributions for his recall election campaign Thursday, even as he faces a lawsuit alleging the huge campaign checks violate state campaign finance laws.
Republican state Sen. Ross Johnson sued in Sacramento County Superior Court alleging that Bustamante's use of an old campaign committee to accept six- and seven-figure donations is a "blatant money laundering scam" to avoid voter- approved contribution limits.

It looks like Bustamante is rising to the bait...
For a chance at the Governor's job.... he'll show his natural democrat criminal tendencies and his racist anti-American and pro-illegal immigration positions...
Bustamante's election would signal the final death shakes for Kalifornicate - and would initiate a vast exodus of business and taxpayers....
The corruption would be so widespread and obvious - Kalifornicate would be the laughing stock of America...

The Dim party is corrupt... but so is their base.
They will all vote for this Mex gangster no matter what.
I hate most Dims so much... hearing them parrot lies and anti-Americanism about every issue is too much for me to handle lately.

"Bustamante is using an accounting method known as "attribution," where the donations from the tribes and unions are being counted as if they had been given by previous donors to his lieutenant governor's 2002 campaign -- a tactic election law experts say is legally dubious."
Never heard of the Accounting Principle of Attribution.
Is that where they get money now in 2003, but presume they had gotten it back in 2002?
Call it "cooking the books."

Bustamante gets to keep the money leftover in his campaign fund even if he loses, if I'm not mistaken.

Since the Dems like to point at Enron so often, let's call this....

"We're running against Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is spending millions of dollars of his own money. Peter Ueberroth is doing the same," said Bustamante's political consultant Richie Ross. "I would suggest that that is a violation of the spirit if not the letter of the campaign finance law." Geee I don't know why Bustamante needs to spend so much to run against Arnold. The Republicans are beating themselves over the head to get number three to lose to Bustamante.

I wonder if Bustamante will move to "yes on the recall" by the end of September

All I know is if Tom was doing it (which he could given he holds a senate seat) and Bustamante wasn't, he would have been crucified, fileted, hung and quartered and made dead by the media and the DNC.
And what is especially galling is that Cruz had the audacity to say that all the gaming commission wants is "his respect".
To: ambrose
We need a name for this gaming scam (something non-racist)
CasinoGate?
CruzScam?
?????
I'm not very clever at names but I know other freepers are!
