In an upcoming documentary about the life and legacy of Dick Cheney previewed by Foreign Policy, the former vice president lashes out at former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Brooding over one issue specifically, Cheney criticizes his former colleague for overriding his recommendation to bomb a suspected Syrian nuclear reactor in 2007. "I thought [destroying the reactor] would reassert the kind of authority and influence we had back in '03 when we took down Saddam Hussein and eliminated Iraq as a potential source of WMD," Cheney says in the film, The World According to Dick Cheney. "Condi was on the...

She said that the Pennsylvania plane — you know what I mean by that — was “driven into the ground by brave citizens who died so that others might live.” Powerfully stated. “Dictators in Iran and Syria butcher their own people and threaten the security of the region; China and Russia prevent a response.” Very interesting for an ex-secretary of state to have fingered China and Russia like that. Good. Frank. And the world wonders, said Condi, “Where does America stand?” Yes, they do — and that is dangerous both for the world and for the U.S. One could elaborate,...

Once again, an evening of words. And in an unusual twist for this type of thing, they were nicely combined with ideas for a CHANGE. ...from New Mexico, Susana Martinez... “We talked about many issues, like welfare, is it the way of life or hand up? Talked about size of government, how much should it tax families and small businesses? And when we left that lunch, we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said, "I'll be damned. we're Republicans.'' She should have known she was a Republican though, since she’s been packin’ a 357 magnum...

TAMPA-- Former Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice implored Republicans to champion a "compassionate" immigration policy in her speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday. "We need immigration laws that protect our borders; meet our economic needs; and yet show that we are a compassionate people."

NEW YORK -- For the first time in its 80-year history, Augusta National Golf Club has female members. The home of the Masters, under increasing criticism the last decade because of its all-male membership, invited former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore to become the first women in green jackets when the club opens for a new season in October. Both women accepted.

I post this as a differentiator. You can find plenty of information about Condi and the LOST treaty during the Bush years, but it can be common for people to do what the administration they're currently involve with wants done, despite it being counter to what they believe. Or they've had a change of opinion over time. This is not the case in Condi's case, her position is clear outside of the Bush Administration. She does not support American sovereignty. Her opinion is her own. Time to Join The Law of the Sea Treaty (May 30th 2012) BY HENRY KISSINGER,...

Here’s a quick pop question for you on Bastille Day. What do you call fever pitch discussions of Condi Rice as the GOP vice presidential nominee? "I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president and she certainly has much more experience than our sitting president," former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) said when asked for her reaction to news that Rice is near the top of Romney's list for VP. Palin is asked by host of "On the Record" Greta van Susteren what she thought about Rice being "moderately pro-choice." Palin tells host of "On the Record" Greta van Susteren that she would prefer a pro-life vice presidential candidate, however she says ultimately the power to legislate abortion does not lie with the vice...

Despite the Drudge Report's article Thursday night reporting that Condoleezza Rice is the new frontrunner to be Mitt Romney's running mate, a spokesperson for the former secretary of state tells ABC News she is still not interested in the job. In an email the spokesperson said that Rice, who is on vacation, has no plans to comment specifically on the Drudge Report article, but that all of her previous statements denying interest in being Romney's vice presidential pick "still stand." The Romney campaign has not commented on the report. Drudge has long appeared supportive of the Romney campaign and there...

“I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president,” Palin told Fox News on Thursday night. She compared Rice's past experience favorably to that of Obama. But Palin dismissed concerns over Rice's stance on the subject. “I would certainly prefer a presidential and vice presidential candidate who had that respect for all innocent precious purposeful human life,” Palin said. “We need to remember, though, that it’s not the vice president that would legislate abortion and that would be Congress’s role, and we’ll keep that in mind.”

*** Condi for VP? Don’t bet on it: Well, we learned last night that the Drudge Report -- with its close ties to the Romney campaign -- still has the power to change the subject, at least for several hours. Its provocative headline: “Romney narrows VP choices; Condi emerges as front-runner.” But if you believe that Rice (who has never held elective office, who is closely tied to George W. Bush’s unpopular foreign-policy decisions, and who supports abortion rights) is going to be Romney’s VP pick, we have some oceanfront property in Nebraska to sell you. In fact, this tweet...

8:27am EDT With The Drudge Report driving speculation that Condoleezza Rice is now a leading contender in the Republican veepstakes, campaign surrogates and supporters say Rice electrified Mitt Romney's circle last month with a speech she delivered at the candidate's closed-door June fundraising retreat in Park City. Rice's forceful and surprisingly partisan 13-minute address — audio of which has been obtained by BuzzFeed — won her two standing ovations from the gathering of big-money donors and GOP elite. It was widely considered the highlight of the weekend, several people present told BuzzFeed.

When the Roundtable discussion on ABC's This Week Sunday predictably turned to who Mitt Romney should pick as his running mate if he seals the Republican presidential nomination, former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones made an interesting observation. "You want to do something bold, put Condoleezza Rice on the ticket and watch the Obama campaign go crazy" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has emerged as a front-runner for Mitt Romney's vice presidential nomination, according to a report Thursday by the Drudge Report. ..... < snip > ..... But during that same interview, Rice downplayed speculation that she would be chosen as Romney's running mate. I didn't run for student council president. I don't see myself in any way in elective office, Rice told CBS This Morning on Tuesday. The former Secretary of State said the Republican candidate had a deep bench of more willing candidates to choose from. I'm saying there is no way I will...

Mark Levin tells Romney to stop playing it safe and to “pick a damn conservative”, that Condi Rice for VP is a bad idea because we’d be defending Bush policies and Bain Capital all the way to November. He says we have a great conservative bench the he can pull from and that’s exactly what he should do.

Did you loathe and detest the Bush administration? If so, you'd probably say its ideas were horrible and their execution worse. Did you not loathe and detest the Bush administration? In that case, you might say its ideas were pretty good—only the execution often left something to be desired.
