A brief skirmish between South Carolina and Clemson players broke out on the field before Saturday's game at Memorial Stadium, and Gamecocks players said afterward that it began when a Clemson player shouted a racial slur. Texas will fire head coach Charlie Strong on Saturday morning, SI's Pete Thamel has confirmed. Chip Brown of Scout.com first reported the news.
