Under Armour has informed UCLA that it wants to terminate the record-setting $280-million deal the apparel giant signed with the school in 2016, a potential financial blow that the Bruins intend to fight. The company said in a statement Saturday that it wanted to end the partnership because of UCLA’s inability to provide unspecified marketing benefits as required by the contract between the parties.

A private college in West Virginia said Wednesday it is removing the name of the late U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd from its health center, saying his name had caused “divisiveness and pain" without explicitly noting his complicated past on racial matters. On June 22, James Madison University’s president announced a recommendation for the Board of Visitors to change the names of Maury, Jackson, and Ashby Halls. The recommendation came after the university put out a survey asking for opinions on the change and after the Student Government Association passed a Bill of Opinion, among other measures.

A new poll has revealed that 94 percent of college democrats support recent pushes to defund the police. 61 percents of young democrats also believe that rioting and looting are valid forms of protest. According to a report by the College Fix, a new poll of 1,500 students revealed that 94 percent of Democratic college students believe that American police forces should be defunded as a consequence for acts of police brutality. Although 94 percent of Democratic respondents said they supported proposals that include decreasing police funds, only 13 percent of Republican respondents said that they agreed.

A former Florida State football player, Kendrick Scott, started a petition for the school to rename Doak Campbell Stadium. Now the university’s president, John Thrasher, has responded to the petition with a statement. Dr. Kendrick Scott, who played for Florida State from 1991-94, penned a petition on Change.org. In it, he asked that Doak Campbell Stadium be renamed. Scott also suggested that Bobby Bowden be honored as the next coach the stadium is named after and suggested that Bobby Bowden Field be renamed Charlie Ward Field.

For more than two decades, professors have been “flipping” classrooms to move course material online and use classroom time for student-centered activity and more complex, collaborative thinking.
