So putting over a dozen players into the hospital for kidney failure due to too much lifting weights does not get one fired but this does....

I guess these players never used any "belittling" language in their football career.

And am I also to assume all of this posturing over a player after a tackle is not "belittling"?

Wow. Is that article vague. Closest thing I can pick up is players were upset they couldn’t be themselves. I read that as they had to act as team members and they did not like that.

Belittling- the new control word- anything any minority thinks is Belittling will get anyone fired that they don’t like-

How many white teachers and coaches and officers, and firefighters, and and and... will there be in a few years? They will all be fired because minority groups will claim they are Belittled

Don’t know what this coach said- haven’t read the stroy- but you just know that the word Belittling will be the new power control word to get people fired now-

He makes $800,000 a year as a college strength and conditioning coach?

Pull the plug on D1 college athletics. No more scholarships. No recruiting. Revert to club sports. Real academic standards, impartially applied. Coaches paid like adjunct faculty members.

Not sure how lifting weights could cause kidney failure. Perhaps over consumption of protein.

Keep in mind that the football program pays those salaries itself from ticket, merchandise, bowl game payout, and TV revenue. In fact, at Iowa and most other D-1 schools, the football program pays for the entire athletic department (except men’s basketball, which usually breaks even). What you’re proposing would essentially require those “club sports” to be paid for from students’ tuition and fees.

Google “rhabdomyolysis”.

Doyle was the highest paid strength and conditioning coach in the country, around $700k, apparently with a long-term contract. Goes along with Ferentz’ wildly bloated salary for being a mediocrity.

Don’t know what this coach said- haven’t read the story

No need. It's not in the story.

You are correct.

He advised them on clothing and haircuts, and made ghetto references.

I can’t tell you how much our coaches “belittled” us.

You know, my drill instructors at MCRD San Diego did much the same to me. Tried to toughen me up by being belittling and insensitive. They wouldn’t let me be myself, either. One of them even looked like this guy. 39 years later I’m still wetting the bed over it. Is it too late for me to sue or get somebody fired? Oh, the humanity.

If he was black, the berating and ghetto shaming would have been laced with the N-word and the players would forever be thanking him for helping hand.

I know black teachers and coaches who operate that way. Never tried it myself as a teacher, but that’s what they do.
