The 15-year prison sentence given to a woman and her seven children by an Egyptian court for converting to Christianity is a sign of things to come, according to alarmed human rights advocates who say the nation's Islamist government is bad news for Christians in the North African country. A criminal court in the central Egyptian city of Beni Suef meted out the shocking sentence last week, according to the Arabic-language Egyptian paper Al-Masry Al-Youm. Nadia Mohamed Ali, who was raised a Christian, converted to Islam when she married Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab Mustafa, a Muslim, 23 years ago. He later died,...

Reporters waiting for the daily State Department press briefing were overheard slamming the NRA press conference for content as well as their inability to control the room. “They [The NRA] basically said it’s [the CT shooting] everybody’s fault but ours,” said one reporter as he lamented that the chair did not mention assault weapons. A woman added that Medea Benjamin and the other code pink protesters “did a really good job.” The female reporter praised the Code Pink protesters for having big enough signs to cover the NRA Chair’s head to obstruct it from being viewed by the cameras. The...

"Tuesday night, some vandals took it upon themselves to deface the Iwo Jima Memorial at Quantico Marine Base by painting a pink stripe around it. Of course, I’d blame juvenile delinquents, but the juveniles might be those wretched hags of Code Pink – you know, the pink stripe. Not that they’re not juveniles, but they are rather long in the tooth."

The institutional left and their progressive media organs have been busy weaving the narrative that President Obama’s re-election is a mandate to raise taxes. Republicans in Congress have been busy acquiescing to this narrative and it looks like all of that bipartisan busy work is going to pay off and taxes are going up. As someone famous once said, “Elections have consequences.” If one of the consequences of the President’s re-election is the Tax Mandate, surely there are other mandates to be spun. And as if on schedule, the events of recent weeks in Israel reveal another consequence of President...

Richard Hoagland, the acting U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, discussed with Code Pink and anti-Israel activists what he said was classified information, during an October 3 meeting with the groups in Islamabad. Code Pink, a liberal anti-war organization known for disrupting Republican and conservative public events, uploaded a video of the meeting to an Internet video sharing website on Oct. 5. Realizing what he had said, Hoagland told the activist gathering: “I probably just, you know, got into big trouble with what I just said.”

How good was Gallup’s vetting of the questioners at the 2d Presidential debate held at Hofstra on Long Island? One explicitly feminist question was asked by undecided voter Catherine Fenton: And it’s Katherine Fenton, who has a question for you. QUESTION: In what new ways to [do] you intend to rectify the inequalities in the workplace, specifically regarding females making only 72 percent of what their male counterparts earn? By a strange coincidence, there happens to be a Catherine Fenton who in 2008 identified herself as the Media Coordinator of CodePink Long Island.

Egypt’s al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya – or Islamic Group – is warning it could use violence as a means to ensure Sharia law is adopted in the latest draft of the country’s constitution and is calling on Egyptians to wage “jihad and fight in support of Sharia.” This call was made by Mohamed Salah, the leader of the group which the U.S. designates as a terrorist organization. Al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya’s spiritual leader was the blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman who is imprisoned in the U.S. for his role in blowing up the World Trade Center in New York in February 1993 and for plotting...

Visit any Coptic church in the United States and you immediately recognize the newcomers. You see it in their eyes, hear it in their broken English, sense it in how they cling to the church in search of the familiar. They have come here escaping a place they used to call home, where their ancestors had lived for centuries. Waves of Copts have come here from Egypt before, to escape Gamal Abdel Nasser's nationalizations or the growing Islamist tide. Their country's transformation wasn't sudden, but every year brought more public Islamization. As the veil spread, Coptic women felt increasingly different,...

(TheBlaze/AP) — About three dozen American anti-war activists are headed toward Pakistan’s militant-riddled tribal belt to protest U.S. drone strikes, but a faction of the Taliban has warned that suicide bombers will prevent their demonstration. The anti-war activists– many of whom are from the far left women’s organization Code Pink– are reportedly joined by thousands of Pakistanis in their march, and their motorcade is being led by ex-cricket star turned politician Imran Khan. Militants have dismissed Khan as a mere tool of the West despite his condemnation of the drone strikes, which have killed many Islamist insurgent leaders. Odds are,...

US Women Stage Hunger Strike In Pakistan Over Drone Strikes (Code Pink) Jon Boone, The GuardianOct. 3, 2012, 10:01 AMNot content with a planned march into one of Pakistan's most dangerous regions, a group of middle-aged American women are considering mounting a hunger strike outside the US embassy in Islamabad as part a campaign against CIA drone attacks in the country. Thirty-five activists from Code Pink, a US anti-war group, have gathered in the Pakistani capital this week as they prepare for an unprecedented march and political rally in South Waziristan, one of the semi-autonomous tribal areas on the Afghan...

NEW YORK: A 40-member American peace delegation is leaving for Pakistan next week to protest drone strikes and promote peaceful relations between US and Pakistan, it was announced on Friday. The delegation, organised by the activist group CODEPINK, a group of women peace activists, will meet with the families of drone victims, lawyers, academics, Pakistani politicians and US officials. On October 7, they will march to South Waziristan in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to protest US drone strikes that have killed more than 2,500 people, including civilians, CODEPINK said. “President Obama’s counter-terrorism chief John Brennan insists that US...

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hide your children. This is what the progressive left's idea of women's empowerment looks like: For the past two weeks, radical feminists from the group Code Pink have paraded across the fruited plain in giant female reproductive organ costumes. The goal is "respect" for women's bodies and women's abortion rights. It's part of the coordinated campaign to fight the right's purported "war on women." The Vagina Puppets' Democratic Party sympathizers, from professional birth control freeloader Sandra Fluke to first lady Michelle Obama, dog-whistled the same messages of "choice" and "freedom" from the convention stage. "We are ......

The women’s antiwar group CodePink was behind the disruption of Representative Paul D. Ryan’s speech on Wednesday night, but it was in part a product of the Romney campaign’s continuing dispute with Ron Paul supporters. “An angry Ron Paul person was like, here, take my pass,” said Laura Mills, the 21-year-old CodePink intern who was escorted out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum after interrupting Mr. Paul’s speech. Ms. Mills and a more seasoned activist, Ann Wright, were just waiting for Mr. Ryan to say something about health care. When he did, they yelled, “Health care, not warfare” and “My...

TAMPA, FLA. — A group of protesters from the women's rights group Code Pink interrupted Mitt Romney's speech at the Republican National Convention tonight. That the protesters were able to obtain credentials to the convention — let alone one that enabled them to get so close to the stage — and that they were able to sneak in huge pink signs is actually a pretty incredible feat given the level of security at the Republican convention.
