In Saturday's weekly address, President Obama declared 2014 the "warmest year on record" and because of that, he furthered, "climate change can no longer be denied -- or ignored." "This winter was cold in parts of our country -- as some folks in Congress like to point out -- but around the world, it was the warmest ever recorded," Obama said. The result, he continued: stronger storms, deeper droughts, and longer wildfire seasons. And with a nod back to his recent statements about how climate change caused his daughter's asthma, Obama warned that the air kids breathe is dangerous.

A report from the Overheated Planet (Daily Caller) This past winter broke tons of low temperature records across the eastern seaboard, but would you have guessed the Northeast just had the snowiest winter since the “Little Ice Age”? “Looking back through accounts of big snows in New England by the late weather historian David Ludlum, it appears for the eastern areas, this winters snowblitz may have delivered the most snow since perhaps 1717,” wrote seasoned meteorologist Joe D’Aleo with Weatherbell Analytics.

The U.S. has caused more global warming than any other country. Here’s how the Earth will get its revenge.Last year, we learned what is probably the worst global warming news yet — that we may have irrevocably destabilized the massive ice sheet of West Antarctica, which contains the equivalent of nearly 11 feet of sea level rise. The rate of West Antarctic ice loss has been ominously increasing, and there are fears that if too much goes, the slow and long-term process of ice sheet disintegration could accelerate. Humans have a hard time conceiving of the incredible scale of an...

And I think America is putting too much stock in the 2014 congressional elections, as there seems to be less and less difference in most of the Republican and Democratic parties. It's going to take a lot more than one election to clean up the mess. It's going to take decades and honest, capable leadership, who will tell the American people the unvarnished truth, and I'm not sure they're ready for that.

The Climate Credit is a payment to Californians from a program designed to fight climate change by limiting the amount of greenhouse gas pollution that our...
  • Government in UK can't keep their global warming story straight

Summers in Britain will be drier, oh wait, make that rainier. Well something bad is going to happen and you can bet it will be the fault of global warming, oh wait, make that climate change, uh…actually, make it climate disruption. For now, anyway. Stand by. Andrew Bolt, writing in Australia’s Herald-Sun, has great fun with the changing story from Britain’s official worrywarts:
  • Kerry Says--Wrongly--Some Temps This Week Broke ‘Every Record That’s Ever Been Seen’

Secretary of State John Kerry told an audience in Mexico on Wednesday that temperatures in Europe and in Vietnam were “unprecedented” and broke “every record that’s ever been seen.” However, although it was hot that day, he was off the mark.
  • Scientists rebut Obama Administration’s “National Climate Assessment”

Yes, that’s right … scientists. Here’s their opening. As you’ll see, they don’t mince words nor do they show much respect for the nonsense spouted in the NCA or those who produced it. And I don’t blame them: The National Climate Assessment – 2014 (NCA) is a masterpiece of marketing that shows for the first time the full capabilities of the Obama Administration to spin a scientific topic as they see fit, without regard to the underlying facts. With hundreds of pages written by hundreds of captive scientists and marketing specialists, the administration presents their case for extreme climate alarm....

  • Miami Will Likely Be Underwater Before Congress Acts on Climate Change

Miami will likely be underwater before the Senate can muster enough votes to meaningfully confront climate change. And probably Tampa and Charleston, too—two other cities that last week's National Climate Assessment placed at maximum risk from rising sea levels. Even as studies proliferate on the dangers of a changing climate, the issue's underlying politics virtually ensure that Congress will remain paralyzed over it indefinitely. That means the U.S. response for the foreseeable future is likely to come through executive-branch actions, such as the regulations on carbon emissions from power plants that the Environmental Protection Agency is due to propose next...

Senate Democrats are about to burn the midnight oil to make their case on climate change. The previously rumored all-night session on the effects of climate change will take place Monday, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse confirmed. “It’s locked in,” the Rhode Island Democrat told CQ Roll Call. “An all-nighter is an all-nighter. We’re going to go all the way through to eight or nine in the morning or whenever they need to clean it up for the next day.” That would clearly meet the established definition of an all-night session. Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Whitehouse are coordinating the campaign. Whitehouse...

Since 2007 the price of food around the world has just about doubled. Bad harvests, inflation, or George Bush didn't cause this price increase. According to a secret report from the World Bank, reported in the UK's Guardian, 75% of the increase in price has one source: "Biofuels." This contrasts with US claims of only a 3% biofuels-caused increase. The World Bank also says that rising food prices have pushed 100 million people worldwide below the poverty line. Riots have been sparked from Bangladesh to Egypt. Where is the outrage? Where are the MSNBC stories on food riots? Where is...
  • W.H. Science Czar: 'Global Warming' Is 'Dangerous Misnomer' (Prefers 'Global Climate Disruption')

John Holdren, our official fraudulent "Science Czar" for our equally mendacious president, has dumped "global warming" as a "dangerous misnomer." Ah, yes, that would be it, then. It's not the facts, but the words that are wrong, says America's official Doctor Science. In scientific terms, this means John Holdren has run up the white flag and is begging for mercy. "Warming" is something we can measure scientifically. "Global warming" is a lot more speculative, but with satellites, weather balloons, and plenty of ocean buoys, we now know that it's just wrong. Global warming has been shot down in flames by...

John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, says that the term "global warming" is "a dangerous misnomer” that should be replaced with “global climate disruption." At the Environmental Protection Agency's 40th celebration of the Clean Air Act on Tuesday, Holdren said, "I think one of the failures of the scientific community was in embracing the term 'global warming'. Global warming is in fact a dangerous misnomer." And in a speech last week in Norway, echoing remarks he made at a 2007 speech at Harvard University, Holdren said the
