Forty-two was the mystical number that explained “life, the universe, and everything” in Douglas Adams’ comic novel, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Today, another mystical number, the so-called social cost of carbon (SSC), is providing the excuse for the Environmental Protection Agency and green-energy-enamored state regulators to enact crippling energy policies. The SCC is the thumb on the scale that can justify virtually any policy aimed at eliminating fossil fuels. When the EPA first proposed its rule to reduce mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants, the agency’s cost-benefit analysis determined the benefits would be minuscule. Any putative benefits, it turns...

Article EXCERPT:Federal health officials said the government is also pursuing an mRNA bird flu vaccine, based on the same technology as Pfizer’s and Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccines.Chin-Hong said this type of vaccine could potentially be updated more quickly to match the currently circulating strains of the virus. But these vaccines have their own challenges, he said, such as needing to be stored at extremely cold temperatures. In addition, given that these vaccines would be a new use of the mRNA vaccine technology, the FDA may require clinical trials which could delay the roll-out to the greater population. There are other options for dealing...

An investigation into the viral vegetable dessert — plus five rhubarb cake recipes for your consideration. If you spend time on any corner of TikTok, you might’ve heard this extremely catchy song. I've received two cell phone calls in the past few days and both were labelled "Likely Scam" in red letters. The number was not shown so I didn't consider answering it. On the second such call curiosity got to me and I decided to answer. It was the RNC soliciting donations. I hung up and then went to the previous "scam" call and that was from the National Republican Congressional Committee. the numbers were 771-202-xxxx and 771-213-xxxx. They've been doing something similar with email from Republican entities. The Trump Campaign, RNC, NRCC, and the FEC need to be alerted, although...

If you want a perfect summary of why people don't trust the media anymore, and in particular CNN, this is it. Back in September 2021 Joe Rogan announced that he had contracted COVID and was taking a "kitchen sink" approach to fighting it off. One of the drugs he took was Ivermectin. Immediately, as in that same day, CNN started in on a campaign to mock Rogan for taking "horse dewormer." *On Sept. 1, CNN host Erin Burnett said: “Controversial podcast host Joe Rogan, who’s railed against vaccine requirements, says he has covid and took a drug intended for livestock.”...

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has made some questionable remarks regarding China in recent years, including applauding the country for allegedly using threats of prison or organ harvesting as a means to meet its green energy goals, according to unearthed comments reviewed by Fox News Digital. "They take this very seriously," Kennedy said in 2014, speaking of China and its clean energy agreement that year. "I don’t know whether… the guy ends up in prison with his, you know, organs harvested or what. But they are very, very dead serious." Kennedy’s comments, made on "The Ring Of Fire" radio...

A North Carolina cafe customer is out $2,000 as her go-to diner posted her entire credit card information online for the world to see. Rhonda Deaver paid her weekly visit to Smith’s Cafe in Kinston following her doctor’s appointment on April 30 and dined at the restaurant, approximately 80 miles southeast of Raleigh. During her drive home, Deaver received a call from her bank telling her she left her credit card at the cafe. Sky News host Rita Panahi has reacted to footage of university professors getting themselves “arrested in hilarious ways”. Ms Panahi blasted an economics professor from Emory University in Georgia, who was “silly enough to hit a police officer” and then refused to “get down”. “We’ve brought you plenty of footage of lefty students acting unhinged on university campuses but the academics are no better,” Ms Panahi said. “One could argue they’re worse. “They have indoctrinated their students, they’ve enabled and emboldened the worse elements. “Now they’re joining the protest, and a few are getting themselves arrested in hilarious ways.” Transcript...

A solitary, symbolic tank has featured in Russia’s annual 9 May military parade for the second year in a row as the country was forced to pare down its normal display of military might during a full-scale war in which it has suffered unprecedented losses over the last two years. The single tank to roll across Red Square as Vladimir Putin reviewed about 9,000 troops was a second world war-era T-34 carrying the banner that the Soviet Union used when it defeated Nazi Germany alongside other allies. The tank has gained iconic status, but is not in combat use and...

You might understand the shock that Hertz customer Joshua Lee felt when he saw the receipt for his rented Tesla Model 3. After returning the vehicle back to Hertz following a weekend vacation in Los Angeles, Lee noticed he was hit with additional charge of $277.39 on top of his initial reservation price. Why was he charged so much additional money? According to Hertz, that was the cost of refueling the electric Model 3. Unfortunately for Lee, the further he pried the company for information, the more Hertz doubled down, and the more confused he became.

A North Texas woman was sentenced to nine years in prison after using Bitcoin to pay for a murder. Federal prosecutors said 58-year-old Michelle Murphy of Bedford used the dark web to find a hitman for her boyfriend’s lover. "To my knowledge, it's the first time this has happened in Texas, but it's happened plenty of places all over the United States," said former U.S. attorney Richard Roper. Investigators learned she used an ATM to convert cash to cryptocurrency at least three times and transferred about $10,500 to the hitman’s Bitcoin wallet. The person who accepted the money tipped off...

The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is seeking additional $50 billion for a variety of reasons, including including free abortions, migrant services, and LGBT training.
